Ezabella Viper...

I didn't want to stay home hiding in my room, which was a new behavior in this house. Staying at home meant that I was going to draw in my thoughts that I was going to think about everything that went wrong in my life. I would think about how Jacopo's car is no longer parked in my driveway. I would think about the way he reacted when my father let slip about the pregnancy, trying to figure out what every tik of his facial muscle meant.

I had lunch with my father, and I returned to my room to pull comfortable shoes on so I could go on a walk, or even drop by the places I wanted to revisit since I returned to this city.

I had the three sonogram tucked in my bag, along with my phone and the library card I have from over a year ago, in case it still works, making my way down the stairs to quietly leave.

"Where are you going?" My father's voice stopped me mid hall.

I turned around and glanced at him.

"I'm going out for a walk." I replied.

"By yourself?" He shot back,

Jacopo Nicolo...Elizabeth had sent me two texts which contained the locations of where my mother and wife were, two very separate locations that would each take about five hours to drive to if the starting location is my apartment building.I was already four hours into the drive back to the Vipers city, having to take a few minutes to stop at the gas station to fill up my tank.I kept calling anyone whose phone numbers I could remember, but it felt like the entire world was against me, completely shut off, cutting contact from me.I knew there was no use in calling Elijah again to ask for help, but I did call him to tell him that Dante was not answering his phone and that I needed him to make the call until he picks up so he can let the boss know of our situation.I expected to hear from Dante after that, but apparently, he wasn't answering for Elijah either, and neither was his shadow Harvey.I realized that I was pretty much alone in this. It made me wonder through the long dr

  • Forced To Marry A Broken Monster.   Running out of time.

The bark of the gunshot nearly deafened me. Blood splattered on the floor as a loud gasp echoed in the warehouse, filling in the silence left after the gunshot. Blood made my face wet. I watched as attiwood crashed on the ground, her knees almost cracking at the empact.Blood bubbled up her throat and slid down her chin. She lost her grip on the revolver, the small gun falling to the ground in front of her.She looked in shock as she looked down at her chest, her clothes wet from her own blood.I looked past her shoulder as footsteps echoed through the warehouse, a few masked gun men rushing in and pointing their guns at every dark corner.Victor was with the men, his bruised and cut-up face unmasked unlike the rest of them, smoke flowing out of the barrel of his glock. He'd shot Attiwood. He rushed forwards, heavily limping as he pushed past the struggling old witch in her knees. He pushed me aside to look at Eza, scooping her up in his arms as he called out her name."Bella? Bella

  • Forced To Marry A Broken Monster.   Couldn't let her go.

My car stopped just outside of town, and from the previous location of where my mother was being kept, I could tell that I had about thirty more minutes of driving left to get there. And if I chose to go on foot, then it was guaranteed that it would significantly decrease the chances of my mother's survival. But I wasn't going to do anything by sitting around and waiting for something to happen. I needed to be moving, so, retrieving the phone from the floor of the car, I hopped out of the car and slammed it shut as hard as I could, venting some of my frustration out.I started speed walking no matter how exhausted my body was. I've already lost a good amount of blood, and I had enough in my body to barely move around. But my mother.I need to get to my mother.I could feel chill creeping up in me. I could feel the blood draining from my face, most probably leaving me as pale as a ghost. But I couldn't stop. The sliver of hope in my heart was forcing me to keep going.I knew I would die

  • Forced To Marry A Broken Monster.   Get out

Ezabella Viper...I woke up with a blinding headache, my eyes barely able to see around me. It took me some time to register that I was in a hospital room, sleeping in a hospital bed."Bella?" A familiar voice called out, forcing my eyes to shirt towards the bedside chair. My father's bruised face came into view."Bella," he called out again, hovering over my, his hands reaching for mine.Within the next seconds, he was running out of the hospital room to get someone and back with whoever he had gone searching for.The next few minutes went on as a woman examined me, shining light into my eyes, asking me how I felt, specifically how my head felt, and then proceeding to tell my father and I that I had a mild concussion and should be fine.My biggest worry was the health of my baby, as I recall being tossed around after those men dragged me out of the flipped car and into the trunk of their own. The most the doctor could tell me was that I needed rest and continuous supervision j

  • Forced To Marry A Broken Monster.   Sacrifice.

I was discharged a few hours later, and it took me a great deal of convincing my father to let me see Jacopo one more time before we left."You'll see him at the funeral." My father had argued when I asked him to let me see my husband first, but he let me go to Jacopo's room first before we left, and disappointment hit me when I saw that Jacopo was no longer there, only Dante, who was sitting on the chair by the bedside, the same one that was turned over when Jacopo attacked him."Where did he go?" I asked, looking at the empty bed."He's gone." He replied."Where?""Probably to his apartment." I heard my father sigh."And you just let him go?" I questioned, looking at my husband's boss with a frown on my face.Dante didn't give me a reply, which gave my father space to butt in."There you have it, Bella. Now let's go. You'll see him at the funeral anyway." He commented as he turned around to leave.I had no other choice but to follow him, knowing that I couldn't get myself to the ap

  • Forced To Marry A Broken Monster.   Things to do.

The drive to Jacopo's apartment was silent. There was a car following after my father and I as he was planning on staying in the web city to make sure that I was safe. My stomach was fluttering with a lot of emotions, the most dominant once being fear and doubt."I want you to keep your phone on you every single second of the day and night. Understood?" My father commented as he stopped the car in front of the tall apartment building."Undrestood." I nodded my head."I also need you to keep me updated. I want your morning texts to be morning, noon, and night. Okay?""Okay?""Oh, and one more thing. Do not forget what you promised me. You sense any danger, then I was you out of there. Okay.""I'll keep my promise, Dad." I said, taking my seatbelt off and twisting in my seat to give him a hug."I'll be okay, Dad." I whispered. He let out a tired sigh as he patted me on the head."I'll trust that you'll be." He replied when I pulled away."I'm going to go now." I announced before I grab

  • Forced To Marry A Broken Monster.   Broken and Beaten down.

I started by drawing the thick drapes and letting sun shower the living room, instantly making it much better than it was when I first arrived. I then went into the kitchen to first check if there was anything around that would result in a proper meal. The boiled eggs were at the same spot as I had left them when I decided to leave for the Viper city, and the remaining fruits looked a bit off considering the amount of time they were left in there. And from the clean trash can, I could tell that Jacopo had not been eating.I pulled my phone out, exiting out of the list of contact numbers from when I gave my father a call just minutes ago, and looked into the restaurants Jacopo and I used to order from.I knew he had a few favorites, so I decided to order from a few of them in case he was feeling of having a variety.Until I food arrived, I bussied myself by cleaning the fridge and them pacing around when I had nothing else to do.All of the food arrived maybe about thirty minutes later

I stood in front of the window, looking out at the starless night sky. I had one hand pressed against my lower abdomen and the other hand supporting my waist. I was exhausted, but I couldn't force my eyes away from the beautiful view just yet.The past eight weeks had not been easy, but they were certainly a working progress. The first few days, I was unable to make him eat much. He would nibbled on something and drained a water bottole before he would go back to sleep. He was losing a lot of weight in those times, and I was getting more and more concerned about him.He refused to let Doctor Morgan into the house so he can check his wound for him, and he refused to listen to my pleas for him to eat, to get up and stretch him muscles a bit. He refused to leave the bedroom we used to share, and he refused to speak to me as well. I had decided to sleep in his previous bedroom at night to give him the space he needed and kept being around him during the day.But I wasn't the only one J

  • Forced To Marry A Broken Monster.   The pregnant woman.

"I think I saw someone." I commented after Jacopo and I hopped into the car.The appointment went well. Jacopo had held on to my hand the entire time, not leaving my side as he bounced his eyes between the ultrasound and I.He watched intently as the lady Doctor told me to pull my hoody up to expose my belly. The cold gel made me slightly shiver as she spread it over my abdomen, making Jacopo tighten his fingers around my hand.I've had three check ups so far, but none of them felt as special as this one, and I knew deep down that it was because my husband is here with me.I'd mostly watched his reaction to the ultrasound. His eyes narrowed as the doctor pointed out our baby. I'd seen a certain light within his gaze, and I felt joy expand in my chest. He'd looked down at me, and I'd seen a content in him that I hadn't seen in a while."That's our baby." He'd whispered, and that acknowledgment had made me want to cry. The way he said our baby, the way he looked at the ultrasound, it w

  • Forced To Marry A Broken Monster.   Familiar face.

"How did it go?" I asked.Jacopo and I had shared dinner alone after Dante, Elijah, and Ella, along with the twins, left. The day turned out a lot different than I thought it would be. The men spent most of the day behind the doors of Jacopo's home office, coming up with a plan to take their enemies down, while Ella and I caught up, ordered food, made sure the men were fed, and played with the kids when they woke up.It was nice to forget about everything bad and surround ourselves in the bubble of joy the twins provided, and I didn't want it to end. But of course, the sky was starting the darken, and the men were leaving the home office. After saying fairwell to our unexpected guests, Jacopo and I settled for some leftovers from lunch from earlier and retired to our bedroom to call it a day, where I couldn't help but start to ask him questions about the conversation he had with the men in his office."It was... fine." He replied, settling down under the covers next to me."Did you g

  • Forced To Marry A Broken Monster.   Gatherings.

Ella and I left the twins to sleep some more in the bedroom and found ourselves in the open kitchen. She was telling me how her and the other ladies of the web missed my company, and it reminded me that it has been a long time since I joined the gatherings. To be totally honest, I did miss hanging out with some of the ladies of the web as well. I don't mean the mean mother-in-laws and constant glares of the younger women. I mean the women who went to those gatherings to genuinely have fun, to talk with one another, and had a good time outside of their houses."I do miss you guys too." I replied."Well, you can always come on the next gathering." Ella said. "I know things aren't great right now, but it would be good if you give yourself some time too.""That would be nice. Bit, I don't think it would be appropriate for me to show up at your gatherings when Jacopo wants nothing to do with the web." I replied.Ella and I were talking about having something to eat before we came to the ki

  • Forced To Marry A Broken Monster.   Forgiveness.

Ezabella Viper...I watched as Ella lovingly looked down at her two daughters, her fingers gently brushing their thick hairs off of their faces.I look at her, and I see a loving mother looking at her children. It was a beautiful sight, and I wondered if I could ever be the mother that she is.My hand was pressed against my lower abdomen as I stared at her."Is it hard?" I whispered, trying to keep my voice high enough just for Ella to hear me, and low enough not to disturb the sleeping twins."What is?" Ella asked, tearing her eyes away from daughters to look at me."Being a mother... being a mother in a place like this. Being the wife of a dangerous man working for a dangerous organization. Is it hard?"Ella let out a soft sigh, looking away from me as she thought through her answer. "I wouldn't say it is easy. What I can tell you is that I wake up every single day next to the man I am madly in love with. I have two amazing daughters who I would give my life for. I have a fami

  • Forced To Marry A Broken Monster.   Safety first.

Jacopo Nicolo...Elijah, Dante, Victor, and I sat in a circle, our focus on Victor as he restarted his explanation on how he was looking into Elizabeth while he stayed here to keep Eza safeEza and Ella were in our bedroom with the twins as Elijah had refused to talk about killing a bunch of people in front of his two daughters, and while both Eza and Ella wanted to stay and listen to our plans, they didn't protest against Elijah's request."As I was saying before, I was rudely interrupted by your unwanted appearance..." Victore said as he pointed at Dante and Elijah at the same time with two of his left fingers. "I've found out that Elizabeth is staying two towns over with a small mafia wannabe, boys. All we have to do is march ourselves there and wipe them off the face of the earth.""We need to be careful." Elijah commented."Of course, we need to be careful. That doesn't mean we should waste any more time than we already had." Victor countered. "It's been two whole months sin

  • Forced To Marry A Broken Monster.   The Story of the leader.

A short silence fell in the home office as Dante and Jacopo stared each other down.Jacopo crossed his arms over his chest, refusing to make a single comment and forcing Dante to continue."Like Elijah said, I am sorry for what happened that night, but I, too, had someone I needed to save. And as much as it pains me to sat this, your mother was not my priority that night."My goodness... I get what Dante was saying, but damn it, he didn't have to say it like that."And what? I'm supposed to just believe you and be happy with your decision? I'm supposed to clap my hands for you and just move on?" Jacopo asked, hurt still evident in his voice."That is not what I am saying. What I'm saying is that the night was not easy for any one of us. We were all isolated and were forced to choose to save those we loved the most. Elijah had to choose his family and you had to choose your wife..." "Then what about you?" My father jumped in. "Who were you forced to choose?" He asked. All eyes turned

Ezabella Viper...I sat tense in Jacopo's home office, my back to the window, and my face turned towards the unexpected guests sitting in front of my husband.Dante, Elijah, Ella, and their twins. One look at Jacopo and I could tell that he was trying his best to control his anger, to stay come and hear them out before he can kick them out without Dante threatening to burn us all down along with the apartment building."This is very awkward." My father leaned in to whisper to me, shaking his head in disappointment for getting caught up in between the affairs of the people of the web."It sure is." I replied, keeping my voice hushed enough only for my father to hear."Are you sure you want to say with this man, Bella? Because if I were you, I would not handle this well." He added."Well, it's a very good thing that you are not me, then." I replied, glancing at him and seeing the face he was making at me."Are we going to sit here and stare at each other all day... or are you going

I was in the middle of preparing breakfast for Eza when the panel lit up with a notification. I pulled my phone out of my pocket to look at what had set it off.Victor was standing in the elevator, aggressively punching the button that would take him to my floor.Goodness.I pushed the pass code in through my phone and watched as he shoved his hands in his pocket and looked up at the camera.I returned my attention back to the breakfast I was preparing for Eza, which did not need the stove to be turned on. Thank goodness.I ignored the noise of the elevator door opening as I started plating the fruits and cookies."Is that why you eat? Or is that what you feed my daughter?" He asked as he stopped in front of the kitchen counter."Mind your own business." I mumbled."My daughter is my business." He replied."Dad?"My eyes are drawn to the hall at the sound of my wife's soft voice."What are you doing here this early?" She asked. "Did we make plans for today?""Good morning to you too,

I stood in front of the mirror, pulling a black t-shirt over my head, wincing as I felt the slowly healing gunshot wound on my shoulder.Eza was still asleep in bed when I got up to get ready. The previous night, after Eza and I had spent the day together forgetting the horror we were living, we'd returned home and spent a few more hours in each other's arms, talking about this and that until she fell asleep. After tucking her in bed, I'd returned to the living room to retrieve my phone, charge it, and make a phone call even though I knew it was past midnight.I knew I wouldn't be able to fall asleep if I didn't call Victor right that second and make plans. I just couldn't wait a few more hours until the sun went up.I was sitting at my desk in my home office, one I have not been in since the day I lost my mother, and almost lost my wife for the rest of my life.I expected to call Victor a few times before he picked up, but to my surprise, the phone didn't even ring three times befor
