Chapter Forty-Nine – An Unexpected Rescue

Leandros’s POV

I opened my bleary eyes in the wee hours of the night in my cell. In another three hours, the sun would be up and I could plan my escape. Today I felt much better. It was a wise decision to not touch last night’s dinner, steeped in drugs. The stupor I was in for almost a month and a half cleared a lot. Although the hunger pangs I felt were intolerable, I could ignore them today. It was important to look for an avenue to escape. It had been almost fifteen days since the evil Dimitra didn’t pay me a visit to fulfill her twisted lust.

I just hoped she fell into a hellhole and died a harrowing death. Why couldn’t the Moon Goddess punish her for her crimes?

I eased off the bed and stretched my rusted muscles. I had stopped hoping to be rescued. Maybe Zephyrus didn’t want to risk the pack’s safety. Maybe he has opted to forget me instead. There was no one to fight for me, no one to call my own, and no one to get me out of here.
