Chapter 2 Our Plans

"With united determination, we've decided to unlock the doors when Lucas and I reach our 100% mark, accelerated by the Quantum chamber's power. Our entire kingdom has come together, embracing the DNA fusion and its enhancements. 

King Abatrose and his people have joined us, strengthening our kingdom, our bonds, and our abilities. Teianna, his daughter, has become like a daughter to me. She lovingly calls Naki her sister. She's even slipped and called me mom a few times, and I cherish our relationship. I just smile and hug her. She was a baby when her mother died. She has developed a strong attachment to me. Our family is built on love, trust, and fierce protectiveness. We stand together, ready to face whatever lies beyond the doors, as one united and powerful force.

We've had to expand our dining room to fit our growing family! Abatrose and his people may prefer the ocean, but when it's mealtime, they're always at the table. Niklaus, my thoughtful partner, loaded my plate with my favorites and sat beside me. . "So what's the plan?" Abatrose asked,

 I shared our strategy, with Neptune's help: "Lucas and I will enter the Quantum chamber three times a day, and we'll reach 100% in just over a week. it's the safest way so it doesn't affect my babies, I'm still nursing" Lucas nodded enthusiastically, his mouth full. I added, "But I'd love to take a swim out and try to reach the ship sooner – and capture some underwater footage for Neptune's records."

Abatrose's eyes shone with excitement as he said, "We can swim out tomorrow morning. We'll need some lights since it's settled deep on the ocean floor." Brent and Sam quickly started making a list, still eating their meal. Naki and Leilani asked if they could join the expedition tonight, and Abatrose looked to me for approval. I nodded, and he replied, "We've been going twice a day, so why not?" Brent and Kie also wanted to come along. "Okay, take the underwater cameras with you," I said. "They have built-in lights, so make sure to get clear shots of the door's handprint mechanism."

The room buzzed with anticipation as we planned their dive, our enhanced abilities boosting our confidence. "And don't forget the big spotlight, I'd like to see its size." "It's enormous," Abatrose replied, "you could fit five of your islands inside its domed shield." 

I asked Brent and Kie, (they were the last to receive the DNA fusion,) "How are your gills?" Brent, still getting used to his, replied, "It's weird, but I'm adjusting," as he grabbed another slice of cake. Kie rose from his seat, kissed me goodbye, and headed out, saying, "You worry too much!" with a smile. I'm still getting accustomed to his affectionate gestures, but Niklaus is always my number one, he doesn't mind. 

Niklaus jokingly said, "I'm gonna start kissing Lailani like that!"

Kie stopped in his tracks when Lailani responded, "I won't mind, you're the sexiest King I've ever seen!" Kie shot her a look, and we all burst out laughing. Abatrose cleared his throat, and Leilani added, "You're sexy too!"  

I adore how we all get along with minimal drama, enjoying fun and playfulness until seriousness is required.

As my breasts began to hurt, signaling feeding time, I excused myself and headed to our palace chambers where my twins were waking up. Niklaus assisted me in getting settled, handing each baby to me so I could nurse them. As they fed, he kissed me passionately. "I love you, sweetheart," he said with a smile. "I love you too!" I replied, basking in the warmth of our loving moment together

"'I'm gonna take my shower,' Niklaus says, heading to the bathroom as the sun sets. 

Shortly after, I hear a soft knock on the door, 'Come in!' Abatrose enters to bid us farewell and goodnight, a habit he's maintained since our kingdoms united. However, tonight he lingers, his expression hinting at something more. "Something on your mind?" I ask. Abatrose approaches me, kneels at my feet, and begins, "My Queen, I hold you in high esteem... I've always had deep feelings for you..."

Just as he's about to continue, Niklaus emerges from the bathroom, asking, "Oh hey, Abatrose! You guys heading out?" Abatrose rises, his eyes locked on mine for a moment before responding, "Yes, it's a long swim. I just wanted to say goodnight, and I'll see you tomorrow." He kisses my cheek, his gaze lingering, before departing.

I watched him walk away, and I saw it ...he was in love with me. I could see him watching Niklaus and me together, with deep desires he wanted me, and when my vision faded, my mate bond kicked in and I knew. But how was that possible? I already had a Mate Niklaus was my Mate! 

Niklaus saw me deep in thought..

"I told you he had the hots for you!" Niklaus said smiling.

I threw his wet towel at him as he walked back to the bathroom laughing.
