THIRD PERSON'S POV
Myra took a deep breath, her left palm resting on her heart. She was beyond shaken, destroyed. She hadn't expected any of this at all. Nothing she had been through would have prepared her for the day she finds out that her mate has a lover. All the dreams she had ever had of ever finding her mate were shattered. She would never be the same again and she knew it. But what could she do? Whatever decision she made she seemed to always end up in pain. She let her lips curve up into a small smile when she recalled her dreams of having a mate and even a family.Oh it was painful, she discovered, to loose what you have always dreamed of without even actually having it.She would survive, she had to. First, she had to find out how and why he had a mate , then she would take it from there. Surely there had to be an explanation."Why...""Listen, you can't tell anyone that we are mates. " He warned looking dead serious. If she thought the feeling of rejection she had received when they had first met was anything, she was wrong. This one little statement tormented her more than the six years of captivity she had endured."Why?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper. She raised her gaze to meet his and saw the look of disgust in his eyes. With a new found determination, she raised her voice."Why must i hide it, you are my mate and i ...""You are not my mate.'Once again he cut her off and she realized just how rude he was. But she didn't realize that he had rejected her again."I can feel the matebond and i know you can too. Why are you denying it?" It took all the courage she could master to mutter the words out loud."I don't need a mate, i need a queen and you cannot be my queen. This pack needs a strong Luna and you are..." the look of disgust he gave her is what made a lone tear run down her cheeks.Did he really despise her so much? So much that he would rather have someone else as the luna rather than his mate? She had heard stories about how wolves who have found their mates cannot live normal lives. They are forever bound to their mates and the death of a mate leads to the suffering and death of the partner. She had witnessed how strong her parents bond had been and how they had loved each other, the same kind of relationship she had always wanted. Then she looked at the man before her and made a decision. She wasn't going to let go. In stead she was going to fight for him, for their bond, after all she had nothing to loose." I won't hide it . I will fight for our bond till my last breath. After all, i have nothing to lose."She told him, looking straight into his eyes.MYRA'S POV. Its been nearly an hour since I had been rudely ushered to my room by my very own mate. How do I feel you wonder? Terrible. I might have acted all tough in front of Xavier and talked about how I was going to fight for our relationship and all but the truth is i don't know where to start. I don't kow what to do or even who to turn to. I decide to shower for the first time in months realizing i am actually very filthy. I change into my towel and make my way into the big bathroom. Really, this bathroom is so big it looks like an apartment. I shower for what feels like hours before i make my way back to the room. On my bed are some clothes and from the smell they belong to Xavier. It feels like he is trying to torment me because he knows that with his scent close my wolf will be restless. I pull the shirt over my head first and just as i am about to reach for the pair of shorts, the door bursts open . Guess who comes in. The one and only, Xavier. "What are you doing here?"
MYRA'S POV Xavier and I have been talking for nearly half an hour. Now i know a bit about him. He is an only child and his parents died when he was 16 so thats when he became the alpha. No wonder he is the strongest alpha alive, he has had to learn alot. From these moments i am starting to realize that I might have misjudged Xavier. Maybe he is not as rutheles as he seems, perhaps we can work on our mate bond and take it from there. I am pulled out of my thoughts by a knock on the door. I look at Xavier and he looks agiatated. I make my way to the door and pull it open, before its even fully open, Sarah storms in. She scans the room then scowls when her eyes land on Xavier. "What are you doing here?" she asks, though it comes out more like an accusation. "I came to see if our guest was comfortable" Xavier replies looking at me. "Oh i see. So its your first day here and you are already after my mate. " she scoffs at me. I open my mouth to answer but Xavier beats me to it. "Don't
THIRD PERSON'S POV Myra was mistaken if she didn't think Xavier cared. He cared, something he wasn't ready to admit. He wasn't even ready to accept her as a mate. Maybe because he knew there was no happiness he could give her. After all, how could he make her happy when all he had known all his life was pain. Even when he had Sarah as a mate, knowing she wasn't his mate, he hoped she wouldn't be so hurt. Every time he saw the pain in her eyes all because of him, his heart wrenched. But who did she think she was to change him, he had been lonely for so long and all over a sudden she shows up looking so beautiful claiming to be his mate. He had made himself a promise years earlier that he wouldn't take a mate, Sarah meant nothing to him. In fact, she was merely there to frustrate Myra , maybe then she would leave. But did he really want her to leave? He wasn't sure, not after he had seen her beautiful eyes, her long soft hair, her plump lips inviting him for a taste every time he lo
THIRD PERSON'S POV They say it is hard to wait for something that you are not sure would ever belong to you, but it is even harder to give up on someone knowing they are all you want. Till today Myra had thought this quote was utter nonsence, that was before she found herself in the same situation. Even she knew that no matter how much pain Xavier gave her, she would always stay and hope that one day he will be hers. It has been a week since the incident with Sarah. Myra hadn't seen Sarah since that night. Rumour had it that she had found her mate and left with him. This should have brought relief to Myra and perhaps some hope to her relationship with Xavier, but no. Nothing changed. Only Myra could attest to how hard it was to have your mate in the next room, to smell their scent all around you and still be unmated. But she was strong, she had gone through so many years of slavery and torture, how could this be any different? It shouldn't have been, but it was. Time and again she w
THIRD PERSON'S POV This time Myra decided she would tell him everything. Perhaps this would bring an end to their relationship. But again she realized that they never shared any relationship. It has always been so one sided there was no hope for love. Finally, after dreaming for so many years, she woke up from that dream, the reality was a bit harsh, but what to do?. One has to accept the truth at times. She had always prided herself of being a realist, if there was any time to show all that then it was then but that didn't mean she wasn't hurt. "Why do you do this to me. Why do you hurt me so much. I have always dreamed of a mate. In my dreams my mate would care for me and love me but when i finally found my mate..." she sobbed . "There is a difference between dreams and reality, you should know this" He didn't look remorseful at all . In fact, he had that smug look on his face. Like it didn't matter to him. "I love you, I love you so much and I pray every day when I wake up and
THIRD PERSON'S POV “But pain's like water. It finds a way to push through any seal. There's no way to stop it. Sometimes you have to let yourself sink inside of it before you can learn how to swim to the surface.” ― Katie Kacvinsky For the next few days Myra wallowed in her misery. However, she did keep her word. She managed to stay out of the alpha's way. In fact, she had left the pack house. She was currently staying at the beta Ryan's place. Of course no one knew this. Beta Ryan was gay and unmated though no one knew that either. He had shared his secret with Myra in confidence and she had sworn to keep it. Of course she knew that many pack members would raise eyebrows at their living arrangements but that didn't matter to beta Ryan and she was also fine with it. There was change in her life, the positive kind, from having no one to having a friend, in fact , two. She had also befriended an omega with the name Crista. She was as kind as a kite and as beautiful as they come. She
THIRD PERSON'S POVRyan rushed accross the hallway leading to Xavier's office, colliding with a pack member in the process. He wasn't even sure how Xavier would react and whether or not he would actually go to see Myra. He knocked on the door but before he could answer, he barged in. It was the usual scene, the one of xavier with another woman. Perhaps he knew he would see such a thing, or had seen such a scene too many times so it didn't faze him. But still his heart hurt for Myra, for he had seen her wish to be accepted by her mate and her desire to be loved. And most of all, he could still see the hope in Myra's eyes whenever he talked of Xavier. She didn't deserve all the pain Xavier was giving her, that was the first thought he had when he entered that office. He would give so much just to have a mate, and here he was messing up his relationship with his mate. "Myra needs you" was all he managed to say. Xavier was still his alpha and there were very dire consequences for disre
Myra woke up the next morning in the warm hands of Xavier, in fact, she had thought she was dreaming until he had let out a grunt in response to her pinching him. But even then, he didn’t move. He continued to hold her closer as if she was something delicate, something fragile. And for the first time in her life, Myra wanted to be. The cool morning breeze and the immense amount of light that had penetrated the room made it impossible for Myra to go back to sleep, unlike Xavier who still had his eyes closed. She felt the urge to use the bathroom and decided to get up, but Xavier’s arms around her brought her closer to him. She wiggled a few times, only managing to wake him up. ‘Where are you going? “He asked her opening his eyes. He was still half a sleep and damn it if he didn’t look good. Of course, leave it to Xavier to rock the morning look. He was about to speak when he noticed his eyes change color. They weren’t their usual gold anymore, they were dark, extremely so without be
