Chapter 32

Olivia's POV

We drove back to the palace when it was dusk, I was famished and tired from talking all day and I wondered why Augustus had not just brought Elana to me in the palace. The atmosphere in the car was lively even though it was only Elana and I that spoke.

Augustus has been quiet all day as if he had something bugging his mind, I wondered what that could be since he had been in a good mood earlier.

“So you are really getting married?” Elana asked me, her face filled with disbelief. She couldn't seem to believe how much I had matured in the last few months, and it still shocked her.

“I am! I'm glad I finally have someone from my own side over here. Thank you, Augustus” I said and he nodded his head courteously.

“How were you able to find her? How did you even know about her?” I asked him, hoping to get him to say something.

“It's my little secret” he said and smiled at me. We were probably the only three that had ever seen him smile, seeing his lips spr

Chapter 33 Augustus's POV “Did you set the men on the trail?” I asked Alexander as he sat opposite me in my office. “Yes your majesty, I did everything as we planned” he replied calmly. I narrowed my eyes at him as he didn't look too bright, whenever he looked like this, it could only mean one thing, I had done something that he didn't find pleasing. I knew Alexander like the back of my palm and nothing got past me when it came to him. “What is it, Alexander? Do you have something on your mind that you want to say?” I asked him, and he looked at me, the shock evident in his face that I had been able to read him. “Nothing your highness” he answered. “I'm sure your face is in this position because of nothing, you better spare me the time and go straight to the point. You know I don't have any to waste” I said to him and relaxed in my chair holding his gaze. “You didn't inform me about your plan to bring Miss Elana to the Kingdom, neither did you mention your wedding plans

Chapter 34 Olivia's POV “Where are you coming from?” Augustus asked me, his voice was hard, and his eyes were icy. I swallowed nervously, not wanting him to know about my secret. “I went to see the other side of the fence” I lied. He looked at me, hard and long, as if he could see that I was lying. “Okay. Come with me” he said and turned, walking straight to our chambers. I fell in step behind him, my heart slamming against my chest in fear. His aura was different tonight, and he looked as if he wanted to eat me raw. Once we got to the room, he held my hands and pulled me into the bathroom, locking the door behind him before I could even understand what was going on. “What is it?” I asked him, backing up against the other side of the bathroom, away from him. “Don't you think that after all that has happened today, we need to discuss?” He asked me, walking up to me and pressing my back against the cold walls of the bathroom. “Can't we do that in the room?” I asked him, t

Chapter 35 Olivia's POV I stirred, my body aching me and particularly a dull ache throbbed in between my thighs. I was trapped under something and when I opened my eyes, Augustus's body covered mine, his hands wrapped tightly around my small frame. He was still sleeping, his lashes casting a shadow on his face and a soft snore escaped his lips. I could hear his breathing and also the rise and fall of his chest on body. I tried to move, my legs hurt, and I could see blood stains on the bed. My cheeks turned red as I remembered last night even though I knew he had been with another woman in his mind. I was only the shadow of his one true love, one that he would ever want and for some reason, that made me sad. I struggled to pull myself from under him, he stirred in his sleep and turned to the other side, freeing my body from his grasp. As soon as he let me go, I got off the bed and limped to the bathroom, the evidence of what had happened last night until the early hours of thi

Chapter 36 Olivia's POV “You knew!” I exclaimed, shocked that he knew that my wolf wasn't strong. “Yes. I am your mate, do you really think I wouldn't have perceived your scent?” He asked, looking at me like the biggest secret I thought that I had was nothing. “It's not a big deal for you?” I said, nearly choking on my own spit. “Of course not. You are the Lycan Queen, that is all the power you need. Anyone who dares you now, has to contend with the entire Lycan Kingdom, don't meet with Lucia again. She is bad for you” he finished and I nodded my head. “Get dressed, we need to go to the women of the pack today. They would be preparing you for the wedding” he said, and I remembered that I had been upset about it earlier but now, it seemed that everything was okay. “But, I had planned to spend the day with Elana. We have so much to talk about.” I protested. “I know. She will be staying with you, I'll only take you to the women and leave you with them until they are done,

Chapter 37 Olivia's POV “That is not any way to welcome your sister, is it?” She asked, her eyes carrying the judgmental glint it always had whenever she looked at me. “How are you here?” I asked puzzled as I made my way to her. She smiled, looking at me with a satisfied look on her face. “Well, we did get an invitation for your wedding, Father didn't want anything to do with it, so mom suggested that I come on behalf of the family” she announced, almost like she was intentionally raising her voice so that more people could hear what she was saying. I immediately felt nervous and tensed. Her presence always seemed to do that to me and I hated it. I hated how it seemed like I always have to walk on eggshells around her. She had treated me so badly that the first thing that comes to my mind whenever I saw her was to run. “You got an invitation?” Augustus asked before turning to Alexander whose face was glued to the ground, apparently he had already seen through his mistake be

Chapter 38 Olivia's POV I took a deep breath before stepping out of the study, the warm air hit my face as soon as I got out, and I made my way to Elana's room first before I would go on later to check on Annalise and see how she had settled in. I walked as fast as my legs could carry me to Elana's room, wishing I could knock on the door even before I got to it. Lucky for me, she opened as soon as I knocked and I went in. “Annalise is here” I announced and watched her face widened at the piece of information. She looked as shocked as I had been when I had first heard Annalise's voice behind me. “How come? Who told her you were here? Back at the pack they had all wished that you were dead and even threw a party to celebrate your leaving” she said, and I shook my head. “Alexander sent the pack an invitation accidentally. He has already taken full responsibility and also apologized, saying that it was an oversight” I said to her even though I was yet to speak to Alexander abou

Chapter 39 Augustus's POV Alexander walked behind me, I tried my best to keep my anger at bay and just take it as an honest mistake, but something was wrong somewhere, and I could not seem to place my hands on it. “Alexander” I called, willing myself to let go of what had happened. “Yes, your majesty” he said, walking faster so he could walk side by side with me. “What do you really think about Olivia?” I asked. “I think she is excellent your majesty. We will be lucky to have her as our queen” he answered, keeping his head down. “You have been my trusted ally for years now. If for anything, the mistake should not have come from you, it is why I have asked the question that I did” I said to him. “I am deeply sorry, your highness. It was an oversight and I sent the wrong pack an invitation. It will never happen again your majesty” he apologized. “Send an invitation to her parents, make sure they leave everything they are doing to attend. I have a plan” I said to him and h

Chapter 40 Olivia's POV I knocked on the door of Augustus's study, I had something to discuss with him about Lucia. The guard told me that he had a guest and even though I wanted to turn back and leave, the guard mentioned that he was with a very beautiful woman. “I think you should go in, just to say hello. Start getting to meet some important people in his life” Elana said behind me, but I knew she didn't want me to be too hard on myself for being jealous. “Thank you” I said and smiled. “Why don't I wait for you in the garden, come to me when you are done” she said and tugged at my cheeks gently before leaving? I stood outside the door for several seconds willing myself to turn and leave without caring about the identity of the woman inside. “Come in” I heard his voice and knew that it was too late. I eased the door opened and entered, shocked to see Annalise seated there, sipping a glass of juice. She didn't look too happy, and it even became worse when she turned an

They were both shivering and looked like they had not expected this to happen even though I wondered why. Nile had given them up so easily, and I knew they would have noticed that. “We don't know, we swear. We won't be foolish to lie to you” Alpha Brandon responded, but I knew immediately that he was lying. I slapped him squarely across the face, pissed off that he thought I was someone he could mess around with.“Oh please, let my poor husband go. Nile lied to you. We did go to him, but he refused to let her come with us, we wanted to contact you, but we didn't want you to think that we had anything to do with it” the Luna said as the tears rolled down her eyes, but I didn't care. They were lying and everyone in this room knew it. I pulled out a dagger from my waist band and brandished it in front of the two old peop

You didn't think I would be that cheap to kill, did you?” He asked, his teeth glistening in the hot afternoon sun. I was so angry, each movement of his aggravating me. “How…how could you do this to him?” I asked, my emotions pouring into every word I said. “Do this to whom? The same man who threw me in jail because of you? I have been with that sick bastard for several lifetimes and each time, he has discarded me because of some woman he kept hoping would be you” he said, the anger evident in his voice as I had never heard him use that tone before. He had injected me with something that immediately made me feel sleepy. Now, opening my eyes I was shocked to find myself in a place that I knew too much. It was my former pack, a place that I had run away from, disgraced and hurt. The one place that I never wanted to go back to. How had this happened? I asked myself. “Don't you dare call him that!” I heard my fake mother's voice and realized that these people were not my friends, they didn't love me. They are my enemies. I had to start seeing them in that light. “Well, I won't. To think that I forgot and bestowed such honor on the two of you” I snapped at him and Alpha Brandon slapped me. • For Every Lifetime   All For Nothing

Chapter 101Augustus's POV I crawled my way up the hill, making sure that none of my movements made more sounds than a whisper. The plan had to work, I needed to be sure that Elana had not been right about her suspicion, I didn't know what I would do to Nile if I found out that he had anything to do with the disappearance of my wife. Wife. The word sounded in my eyes. Olivia wasn't just my mate bound to me by the moon goddess, she was also my wife, bound to me by the laws of the kingdom in front of everyone we ruled over. It was different now, and I realized that I could not let her leave me. No matter how great I thought her being away for now, I knew her place was right beside me. Even all those lifetimes ago, she had captured my heart in ways that I didn't think was possible and every time I had to go back to Ariel, all that had consumed my mind at the end of the day was the explosive time I had with the other woman. The same man I now had a chance to be with after 999 lifetime

Chapter 100Elana's POV I could have sworn that Olivia was back in the palace. It was only when I got to Augustus's office that I realized that it was his guest that had the same scent with Olivia. It wasn't entirely hers, it was mixed with his also, meaning that this man must have been in the same place with Olivia within the last twenty-four hours. “My king, I would like us to speak privately” I said after I told him that I could scent Olivia. “Give me a few minutes” he said, and I went out to wait for him to finish with his guest. One that I suddenly didn't trust anymore. I knew that Augustus wasn't one to condone any form of evil, it was shocking that he was there drinking with a man that should clearly not be trusted. I had barely finished my train of thoughts when the door opened and Augustus came out with the strange man. They shook hands and the man gave me a respectful bow before leaving, I tried my best to smile, but I knew that I probably looked ridiculous. As soon as

I thought I knew where she had gone, she mentioned going to the human settlement but, I have combed every town and city in the last week and not even one person had seen her. "Your majesty” I heard Elana's quiet voice interrupting my thoughts, I had no desire to see or speak to anyone. "Elana" I said quietly, not even bothering to face her. “She reached out to me. I don't know, but she is in some sort of danger. I was cut off before I could get anything else” she said, and I immediately turned, my ears ready to listen to anything else that would point us in the right direction. “Why didn't she reach out to me?” I asked, a stab of jealousy piercing my heart. “I'm sure she only reached out to me because our connection is more shared. Technically, I am her guardian wolf.” She explained and I nodded my head. “What did you see? What did s

The one thing I couldn't afford to do right now. “I…I… Am not Olivia or whatever you say her name is” I managed to say, my voice sounding alien even to me. He laughed, loudly, then got up and went to the mini bar behind his chair to pull out a bottle of raw alcohol. “You see, I had my doubts when I saw you. King Augustus has been on my radar for a while and I kept racking my brain on how to get him to notice me. When I saw you, I had my doubts but today, after seeing the way you have cleaned up nicely, I know without a doubt that you are queen Olivia of the Lycan Kingdom” he said, his voice increasing in pitch and tempo with every word. “I am not her. Just then, there was a rustling of keys at the door and I quickly laid back down, pretending to be asleep. A middle-aged woman made her way into the room, she didn't even bother to look at me before setting the plate roughly on the floor, some of its contents spilling out of the plate. “I know you are awake, I saw you when you were running back to lie down on your bed. You better wake up and eat, the Alpha would soon send for you” she said and left the room before I could get a word out.
