"They call us dreamers,
but we're the ones that don't sleep"
His Flower's Point Of View
After King Calix left, a girl that looked like a female version of him came through the doors. I tried to hide under the covers, but she had already spotted me.
A huge smile took over her face when she saw me. I wanted to cover my face with my hands and shield the tears that had dried.
She came towards me with a slight bounce to her steps, her eyes never leaving mine and her smile never faltering.
"I'm Lilo. Calix's cousin. What's your name?" She asked. I flinched when she outstretched her hand towards me, but then looked down in shame when I realized it was only for me to shake.
My hand was so small compared to hers. She squealed when I looked up again, startling me and making my heart race. I put a hand over my chest, in hopes that the action would calm my frantic heart.
"You're so adorable and tiny!" She squealed again. It was hurting my ears slightly. I blushed at her words.
"You don't talk much, do you? It's okay. I can talk enough for the both of us. You don't have to tell me your name if you're not ready" Lilo's excitement couldn't be masked. She was all giddy.
"Rosalya" it was only a small whisper.
Lilo's smile grew. "That's a pretty name. Nice to meet you Rosie. How old are you?" I felt a little warmth when I heard the nickname she immediately gave me. I barely knew her and she was already giving me names.
"Well...I turned eighteen four months ago",came my timid response. My fingers played with a loose thread on the sleeve of my dress nervously. I felt a little anxious with the sudden questions. I was guarded when it came to meeting new people.
"Ah, Calix got a young one. In case you were wondering, he is twenty six. His birthday was earlier this year"
I nodded and gave her a small, tight lipped smile. We kept talking about random stuff, well, Lilo did. I just sat there and listened, giggling at her as she told me about funny stories from her childhood with the King, and how they’d play pranks on each other. As much as I enjoyed her company, I still didn't really want to talk that much. It didn't bother her at all, though.
We were interrupted when she had to go help some members of their pack with a fight that had broken out, leaving me to my thoughts again.
I missed my sister. Maybe I could go to her? It would be quick and no one would notice.
I made up my mind and peeked out the door to see if anyone was there in the long hallways.
Once I made sure there was no one, I sprinted down one of the long corridors. I didn't know where I was going, but I knew I had to get to the dungeons and the dungeons were underground, meaning I had to get to the first floor of the castle in order to get to there.
I could just pat myself in the back for how smart I am.
I went down every staircase I found, making sure no one would see me. Not that there were many people. This castle felt so quiet and abandoned.
The dungeons were dark, obviously. The last time I was here, torches were illuminating the dark passages, but this time, I couldn't see a thing. The walls were humid with how cold it was down here and white steam would come out of my mouth whenever I exhaled.
My feet carried me in front of a familiar door. It was locked, of course. The guards never unlocked the door unless it was to give us food. I was about to try and kick the door and see what would happen when a quiet whisper reached my ears.
My head whipped to the side where the rest of the cellars were. My eyes squinted as I tried to adjust to the darkness.
"R-Rosie? What are you doing here?" Lana was clutching the silver bars from the cellar. I gasped when I saw her disheveled appearance.
I ran towards her and held her hand close to my chest. She smiled at me as tears streamed down her face. "It is you", she whispered.
I smiled and nodded. "Lana, how am I gonna get you out of there? How am I supposed to get the key?" I asked sadly.
She gave me a mischievous smile, at least the best one she could with his dehydrated and work out she was, and pulled out a key from her pocket. I looked at her in shock.
"How did you get that?" I asked and she shrugged. Her hands brought the key to the lock and undid it quickly and smoothly.
With a smirk and wink she said: “I have my ways". Opening the cell's door, we both took off running.
*****
Lana and I had been running for almost an hour now. We were exhausted, but we wanted freedom. I was sure King Calix had been informed about our absence by now.
I felt a little saddened at the thought of never seeing him again, but he wasn't good for me. He would've gotten rid of me sooner or later.
We had to keep quiet and fasten our pace if we wanted to make it to a safe distance. Lana told me that their land was huge and that we were probably still on it.
The idea of finding civilization gave me at least a small hope of being able to get out of here.
Lana abruptly stoped, resulting in me slamming to her back.
A frightened gasp emitted from her, making my insides turn.
"What is it?" I asked her lowly.
"Wolves", came her reply and I froze.
There's when I felt it. The sensation of being watched.
I shivered in fright.
There were about eight of them and they didn't look like the normal wolves. They looked crazed and bloodthirsty.
A loud howl was heard and seven more followed. My sister and I took a step back.
At first, only three of the wolves stalked towards us, assessing their prey. All of them were big and bulky.
I jumped and whimpered a little when one snapped it's jaws at us.
One of them launched at my sister, making her scream. I tried to go to her, but a second one attacked me. I could see Lana was trying to fight the wolf off of her, but I don’t know if it was working or not.
The wolf that attacked me clasped its jaw on my shoulder, making me scream in shock and pain. It was unbearable. A hot piercing sensation.
I tried kicking and punching its snout, earning me growls and snarls. My foot collided with the snout once and I managed to have a few seconds of freedom, but the wolf hit back full force.
The same one scratched me with its claws, drawing blood from the side of my face and a piercing scream from my mouth.
I looked around to where my sister was and found her crawling to me as she managed to escape the wolf that had attacked her.
She screamed when one of the wolves grabbed her leg. I frantically yelled her name, but that really didn’t do anything.
Another wolf came and kicked me so I was laying on my back now, then bit my arm. I was a sobbing mess as I felt like my life would slip away any time soon.
I felt how teeth sunk to my leg and twisted it into an odd angle, effectively snapping it, sending a sharp pain through my whole body.
I tried wiggling out from the wolf's grasp once more but nothing worked. No movement, no struggle, and no attempt worked in my favor. It was all useless.
My eyelids felt heavy and were droopy do to the blood loss and the massive concussion I must’ve gotten with how hard my head was hitting the ground.
Just before all of my senses gave up on me, I managed to catch the low, dangerous growl that somehow made me feel safe.
Then, my body went limp as it consumed me.
The darkness consumed me.
"Tell the wolves I'm home" Her King's Point Of View 3rd POVHis wolf was going frantic now. He'd put guards all over the castle, but apparently none were there when she went to the dungeons and then out. Of course they escaped. He should've locked his little mate as well."Get the trackers to track them down and the warriors to also go looking for them. We will find them" Lilo quickly nodded and walked away, but not before taking notice of how he looked slightly worried.
"I just wish I wasn't in the verge of death for you to realize you want me" His Flower's Point Of ViewI wanted to cry in frustration and fear. I was surrounded by darkness and I couldn't escape it. My body was aching and I couldn't tend to it. I was scared and no one was there to help me. I felt like collapsing but an unknown force wouldn't let me.I felt a tear roll down my cheek, but no sound came out of my mouth. A heavy longing towards my sister was present, but an even bigger one for how everything was when life was simpler.
"You've seen my descent. Now watch my rising"Her King's Point Of View3rd POVNothing was working. Calix was still restless after a week. Rosalya wasn't waking up. She was still in a coma. The pack doctor had said that it was a medical induced coma so she could recover better. It was up to her, really. Her sister wasn't any better. They were both so close to death. The thought angered him. He had ordered for the rest of the rogues to be chased away and those who wanted a fight were the ones who got a fight.
"The rose was dying, but the beast did everything to save it"His Flower's Point Of ViewHe wasn't there. I woke up and the King was nowhere in sight. Was it something relieving or saddening? I rolled my eyes at the question. Of course it was a relieve. It had been about half an hour after I woke up pained and disoriented. My pained cries were what alerted the nurses of my waking. The events then came rushing in minutes later, leaving me in pure horror. I tried to stand up and start searching for my sister, but my doctor wouldn't allow it. Apparently,
"Don't hate the player,Hate the game"Her King's Point Of View3rd point of viewAs expected, Rosie's face was a mix of shock and horror. She was just a tiny little human as the King's mate so he wasn't really expecting anything else. She took a minute to comprehend what Calix had just said, but as soon as it clicked into place she jumped up from the bed and started to make a run for the door. Calix sighed and resisted the urge to face palm. It's not like she would make it far anyways.
"Here, take my hand. Even if you fall,I'll be there to help you stand back up again"His Flower's Point Of ViewThe thick stench of blood was strong in the smoke filled air. My nose wrinkled as I inhaled the scent. My instincts had me gagging, maybe too loudly. Another scream echoed from not too far away and I squeezed my eyes shot, willing the horrifying sound of pain to disappear. A small sound of desperation escaped my parted lips and I froze in my position. That was loud. More loud than I thought it would be. A hand was smacked over my mo

I was sadly one of the unfortunate ones whose life wasn't claimed by death. Chains were wrapped around each of the girls' wrists, including mine. The horses trotted ahead of us, pulling at the chains that were already burning into our sore skin. My eyes desperately tried to find the familiar pair of hazel eyes which brought me so much comfort."Move", a stern voice came from behind me. The same
"I may be heartless, but you're naive"Her King's Point Of ViewKing Calix had seen a lot... experienced a lot. He had his fair share of beautiful women who would throw themselves at him. None of them were anything serious. He didn't feel anything for them. They were only there when work became too frustrating. He wasn't waiting for that magical time when he would find his mate. Having the person you’re destined to be with meant having to trust and confide. He had things from his past he swore to himself he’d never tell. As soon as I opened my eyes I found myself trapped. A hand was draped around my waist, keeping me from moving. He took me. He actually took me. My mind kept going back to when his eyes were intently studying me. A dark look suddenly taking over for a second. This man scared me.
