Andrea always had an out going personality, and was a professional soldier, she was not a spy, nor did she ever have the patience for plotting and scheming. So when thrust into the spot light and having her secret exposed she didn't have the foggiest idea how to behave. First she rose to her feet quite abruptly hammering her knee on the table. She let out a loud groan dropping back into her seat, and began turning her gaze in every direction only to find someone staring back at her in every turn. Straight ahead sat Alayna still smirking at her, to the right was Cassandra, Christopher, and Brianna, to the left was Taelin all eyeing her. Her face quickly began turning a bright red color she began playing with her thumbs gazing down into her lap quite intently, as if the most intriguing thing ever had found it's way there.
Alayna plopped back down in her chair waving her hand dismissively. "It's fine It's fine. You don't have to answer. It's not like I didn't known."
<A day passed since meeting Andrea and her men in the bar. Ever since the end of their disagreement, Christopher couldn't help but feel she was avoiding him. Each meal he would discover she had just finished eating, or she would come in to eat immediately after he would leave the dining room. He tried to go visit her room multiple times that day and every time her guard would say she was sleeping or went out, even though he was still standing guard outside her room making it clear her she was still in her room."Maybe she's still processing everything that happened?" Brianna said encouragingly."Maybe she just hates your guts."........"Thanks for that Alayna... Thanks a lot.""With how subtle you're I bet they had great difficulty turning you away from being a spy." Cassandra gave her a wry smile."Oddly enough they never asked me if I was interes- AAAAAAGHH!" Alayna went rigid as electricity began getting pumped into her. Sitting i
"W-wai Wha- NO!" What in the hells is this girl thinking. In a hypothetical situation, even if Christopher was not Havoc, In any other country or any situation rulers of different countries wouldn't just meet up with a strong warrior from another nation alone. " Look anything you wish to ask him I can pass on, that's kind of the point of representatives." Christopher scowled at his sister. 'Just what the hell could she possibly be thinking.'"Look, It has to do with my orders, I was told to try to arrange a face to face meeting."Christopher let out a drawn out sigh leaning his back against the wall. No matter what he tried thinking of, there was only two feasible reasons he could imagine them wanting to arrange a face to face meeting. First option - Aldous wished to form a secret Alliance. But seeing how Aldous would most likely prefer launching bottle rockets from his ass versus teaming up with a rebellious faction, Christopher immediately ruled that one out. The sec
....And then there was silence. After leaving the Cassandra's Manor Christopher and Thomas continued on the first half of the walk in complete silence. Thomas had been thinking how best to maneuver around this situation. Despite the circumstances, and who's sister it was he slept with. There was absolutely no way he would be able to contain the broad smile spreading over his face.Christopher walked in silence side eyeing Thomas in some hope it would at least wipe the smile from his face. Unfortunately for Christopher, It did nothing, that boy was floating on cloud nine."Man that was some woman. Oh I said that out loud didn't I?"Christopher let out a groan. "Yes you most definitely did.""But she's just wow... You know.""I'd prefer not to know. But since all of you are waving it in my face, guess I do know.""Sorry about that."...."But by the gods the things she can d-""Thomas! If
As the whistle echoed through the streets everyone paused."What the hell was that?" Bishop mumbled. Immediately people all over began leaving the square, rushing to the nearest exit they could get to, more so before Bishop had a chance to realize what was happening.Schlink! The sounds of countless swords being unsheathed echoed everywhere."Shit Bishop we're!" As Bishop began turning towards Ass Kisser he found a civilian who was walking through the square had pulled a sword and it was now pointed at his throat. The man holding the sword eyed Bishop with pure malice and hate. Those aren't the eyes of a helpless civilian.' He thought to himself, gulpingWhile Bishop eyed the man his sight landed on a small pin with a crest he recognized immediately. The wolfs head with blood dripping from it's fangs. They were all members of the Black Guard, most of all Bishop and his men were completely surrounded."Sir they
Andrea and he acting second Donovan Reynolds rushed through the city streets rushing towards the location of the report they received both the men who stayed loyal and some of Cassandra's guards were accompanying them."First we had a man keeping an eye on them just in case they intended to do something to the local populace. Well at first it was nothing, but then he got word of a large recruitment attempt which wasn't to alarming, could have been just to return to the Capital, poor guy almost was caught up in the middle of things, he was on his way here to report the situation when blades were drawn right here in the damn city!"'Those damn fools!' She thought to herself while they rushing through the town with a look of urgency many were watching with piqued interest. They knew Knights were in town, and surely word would begin to spread about those knights causing trouble. In the end she would be the one that's held accountable. As she got closer the sounds of
...Silence.On either side of the table was a representative and a few of their personal guards behind them. One side the upright professional Knights standing at attention awaiting any surprise factor or requests of their commander. The other side... It was as if seeing the gathering of delinquents in high school or gathered on a park bench. Christopher was sitting in his chair legs kicked up on the table, Alayna was to his side filing her finger nails, behind them was Elise sitting on a side table kicking her feet happily talking away with Cassandra who was overseeing the meeting making sure nothing took a turn towards violence, Thomas in a corner juggling around his battle axe like it was some sort of stunt performance trying to pass his boredom. The knights sitting behind Andrea could only glance at each other to the side with looks of confusion, this was far from the formal settings they were use to."So what is it our dear friend
A few days had passed since the discussions with Andrea, fortunately for Christopher there was no rush to deliver a response to Aldous. During their time together Andrea and Christopher continued rebuilding their relationship spending what spare time they could together. Christopher of course had no intention of burying the offer made by Aldous so after discussing things with Andrea and Cassandra a little more he had decided to use the gate and go back to Bael Karrine for a day and inform their people of the offer currently on the table. "So what's the damage?" Christopher sat down at the table wearing the mask of Havoc. "Surprisingly much better then we would have originally estimated. Of the current ten thousand, three thousand have decided to accept Aldous's offer. John announced as he laid down a small stack of papers, he was barely containing the smile on his face as his excitement began taking over. When Christopher came back telling him about the offer h
"Are you sure this is safe?""Of course it is!" Christopher said, his voice sounding confident before saying. "I think." In a low whisper. 'I'm far from an expert on the matter, but so far I've been pretty lucky.' Christopher thought to himself mentally shrugging."What was that?""I said you look very beautiful today."Angela began blushing a light red and shying away. "Thank you."'The good ol trick to dodging a woman's question... Compliment her.' Christopher smiledAngela and Christopher were standing in the hall of gates, preparing to return to Helenfel. Part of it was he wished to introduce her to his sister, and Cassandra, the other part. 'I miss my friend!' It used to be Angela, Thomas, Elise and Christopher would hang out almost every day since they became close. Now suddenly Angela had been excluded for some time and to bluntly put it. It sucked. Christopher was happy getting her involved with The Black Gu
"They used siege magic on the rear line?" Alexis asked with a furrowed brow. "Why would they expend so much magic on the rear line?" To Alexis this didn't make any sense. If they were using it as an opener to an attack from the rear, it would definitely be justifiable. Have your men rush in taking advantage of the destroyed lines and chaos. But using siege magic alone and backing off, would be like someone taking a shotgun to kill a spider inside their own house. Beyond overkill. If they had struck the center of their lines, their commanders, or even their supply train, Alexis could understand the expenditure. Most magic users could fling spells they specialized in for a majority of the day. But siege magic? The average mage could use it four times in one day, but be severely weakened for the next couple of days. Sure they could use siege magic again the next day, but each day without a proper recovery time the power of the attack would be cut in half. "Well sir it seems the rear l
Inside Helenfel. "Right here." Cassandra pointed at a section of her map sprawled out on the table. "This will be the perfect place." Andrea walked around the table to stand next to Cassandra looking down on the map. "Hmmm good call. When they emerge here they'll be in a bottleneck." "That's not all. They'll be coming around a corner too. They wont be able to see our army waiting for them until it's too late. We'll also have archers along the cliff tops. that can shoot down on them." "Why not have our archers continue firing down on them the entire stretch? That's miles of cliff ledge we could use to thin them out." Garrett asked retracing the path on the Albrael army was taking. "Because we don't want to give away our archers. The reason we've barely had our men harass them the past day was leading up to this moment. Most of all we don't want them to double back, leaving the kill zone we've set up." "Isn't there a chance they sent men to the top of the cliffs too though?" "We
Multiple days had passed in the City Of Darkness following the surrender/purge of any still resisting dissidents. And life had begun returning to normal little by little after the bodies were removed from the streets. Havoc's army had upheld their orders. Those who surrendered were allowed to return home without any recourse for fighting against their new host. Neither the members of The Black Guard, nor their militia counter parts caused any unnecessary damage, nor did they loot and pillage the city. Frankly apart from the angered nobles who's homes had been bombarded during the siege, the city was peaceful and upbeat. The stalls were open, any artisans were back to their crafts. The children ran and played in the now cleaned streets that had been soaked in blood not long ago. Guards were posted on every wall and street corner. Christopher and the other leaders involved weren't fools. Though they had been merciful, eventually there would be some who would try fighting back. They e
Just a little earlier"This is big! This is really big!" Brisia grinned ear to ear as she paced back and forth hardly able to contain her excitement. Her little walk even leading her up the walls and onto the ceiling dancing, and skipping, somehow defying gravity."Shit! Shit Shit!" Alesia growled through grit teeth. "I knew something was coming, but even I never imagined this!" Alesia's current mood was about as close to polar opposite of Brisia's as it could get. 'This is the last thing we need currently! If they find out, especially in the middle of this war, we're seriously fucked! Like fucked on the level I was when all the other gods betrayed me and had me cast from the heavens! Perhaps even more fucked!'"I still can't believe it! I mean I suppose when you look at his track record it would make sense, but holy shit!" Brisia exclaimed. "Not just immortal but he's turning into a god.""I know... More so a god of death." Alesia groaned. The completed 'tattoo' pretty much confirme
Thunk.... Thunk..."Riggy... Any day now..""Y-You d-don't rush perfection!" Mortis groaned as his nerves were being grated against by a rather pushy spirit. "E-Elise if you think you can do better, by all means t-take over!" He snapped back.Thunk! Thunk!"Well look Riggy.. I don't mean to be pushy... BUT PEOPLE ARE TRYING TO FUCKING KILL US!" Elise roared flapping her arms up and down like they were wings.Fwee! As though on cue an arrow zipped between their faces, mere millimeters from giving Mortis a nose piercing he didn't wish for....."S-See not that bad.." He stood his ground glaring back at Elise who could only return his gaze with wild eyed disbelief.Thunk! Thunk! Thunk! Thunk!"That's because there's a wall of shields protecting you and your wrinkled ass!"Thunk! Thunk! Thunk! Thunk! Thunk! Thunk! Thunk! Thunk! Sure enough the members of The Black Guard had formed a wall of shields covering the pair as Mortis went to work claiming he had the means to bring down their gat
Christopher walked to the giant hole in the wall he had created when trying to incinerate Markous looking out over the city breathing a heavy sigh, hanging his head low and shaking it. "What's wrong? At this rate the city is as good as yours? Shouldn't you be happy?" Brisia asked walking up the wall before hanging upside down looking out of the hole too. "See your people are already working on the third gate. Isn't this what you wished for?" "I'll admit.. I wasn't expecting to get that old bastard's approval, but this didn't pan out as I had hoped." He shrugged watching balls of fire rain down upon the noble district from the trebuchets outside the city. "Sooo you didn't want the city?" "Pftt I could give two shits less about the city. I wanted the power that dwelled down here. On that note I suppose you could say this was a success. But by the gods the more I was stuck in the presence of that asshole, the more I want to feed his head to a thousand small animals. Just gotta hope th
"HAHAHA JUSTICE SHALL BE DELIVERED!" Vale cried out as though she were a poor soul who had been denied justice by the courts for far too long.BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM!The ground erupted all around both the twins and the behemoth of a Vampire. The girls quickly turned their backs to one another taken by surprise, readying themselves as best they could considering their injuries. Their eyes caught a glimpse of a creature emerging from the earth, and it was almost instant. The pair blinked and by the time their eyes opened the massive beings were already hovering well above their heads."You've got to be shitting me." Lala mumbled."If she could do this, It would've been nice of her to have done something sooner." Laura huffed her arm dangling limp by her side.Though still on edge the twins felt they could finally breathe a sigh of relief. The pair took several steps back returning behind their friendly lines. While the Vampire they had been battling constantly had a very differe
RAAAWR! A roar ripped through the caverns as the ground beneath their feet began to shake violently. Many people from both sides of the battle looked around trying to find what kind of ferocious beast could emit such a blood curdling sound. "I haven't heard a roar like that in thousands of years." "I've never heard that kind ever!" Their eyes scanned the surroundings. Looking side to side, up around the cavern ceiling, only to find nothing. The monstrous sound was far to loud for anyone to mistakenly assume they had just imagined it. The rumbling earth began shaking harder and harder although you couldn't physically see any movement, the people could feel the movements underneath their feet from whatever was coming, like a slithering serpent snaking it's way through the grass. It felt as though the very earth beneath their feet may collapse at any moment. If anyone in the vicinity were to claim the gods were angered and unleashing their fury on the city, many wouldn't doubt the w
This day and age when someone says an army they think professional soldiers, fighting and killing is their bread and butter, it's what they train for, it's what they're paid for. Their job consists of nothing besides honing those skills. Training and searching for a way to improve upon the ability to kill, to take the life of another human being. But there's times where an army consists of ordinary people, every day people. Bakers, smiths, teachers, sometimes even the students, people you who have never seen combat, mix these people in with some trained soldiers who're willing to advise and educate these people, and at times these armies can be just as dangerous as the professional ones. When you have a reason to fight, whether it's for a better life, to protect someone, to make a name, for your country, even if for a moment it places you at odds with it, you can become a force that's mighty. With no identifying uniform, the enemy will never know when they're about to strike. A man,
