I cannot lie that Athena's fainting did not leave me flustered. A myriad of emotions engulfed me. I was ready for anything even though all options wrung my heart to the point of construction.

As she laid in the infirmary, I imagined all worst case scenarios and none of them appealed to me. Honestly, I was just doing everything in a daze. I am the alpha king and my duties require me to be strong. If my pack knew how much my mental fortitude almost crumbled, they would be shaken.
