Leon and Beau felt humiliated, as they sat in the boutique, holding their women’s handbags as they did some shopping for their outfits for that night. The women working at the boutique giggled as the went about helping these rich women get many outfits, most of which they were sure they would even forget they had gotten. Their husbands were very appealing to the eye and all the girls in the store envied these women. Here, no man of seemingly such great power, would be caught dead shopping or even holding a woman’s bag. This was the dream of every young woman. “Baby, you do know Beau is much richer than me, right?” Leon joked when Jen came out in another outfit and Kaia and her just kept nodding, saying nothing. “How about I ask him to adopt me before you shop away my entire savings, huh?” That made everyone laugh, even the humorless Beau Navarro threw his head back against his seat and laughed at the look on Leon’s face. “You want me to be the hottest girl in the club, right babe?”
Last night had been the best night for Beau, having never gone clubbing even back in his varsity years. Growing up in the Navarro family had been hell enough and Beau was not in the mood at all to party like a teenager, even though he practically was one. He was also thankful that Kaia had shown no signs of being sick last night. That gratitude was short lived though because he woke up to find his wife’s side of the bed drenched in her sweat. He panicked again like he had yesterday, but today he decided not to wake Jen up. Kaia woke up with a throbbing headache and yet again, a queasy stomach, hating herself for those three glasses of cocktails she had forced down as a way to not make Beau and Jen worry about her when all she wanted was to just curl up in bed and sleep. She had felt horrible and still did. The fever attacking her body being all the evidence she needed that she needed to rest. She was not expecting to wake up with Beau starring down at her with such worry though. Th
Nothing else mattered to Beau and nothing else could ruin this perfect moment. Yes, Kaia was not feeling okay at the moment but she had no idea how happy she had just made him. He sat on his of the bed and just watched her sleep, she looked so peaceful he just wanted to cuddle even closer to her. As peaceful as she looked, Beau had a nagging feeling in the pit of his stomach. That's when the dreadful call came in. "I came to your house to check on the kids and they say their nanny took Luna and left." Jen's mother seemed panicked and at the Beau wondered why. "Maybe they just took a walk," even as he said it, it did not make sense why she would take Luna and leave Kim. "What time did they leave?" "No one knows Beau, they just said one minute the nanny was there with both the girls, this was early morning, then later when Kim woke up from her nap, they noticed they were both missing. That got Beau's attention fast and he sprang up from the bed. He hoped this was not as bad as it sou
Jen and Kaia sat cuddled in one seat throughout the flight back home. Kaia could not bring any words to come out of her, she just kept imagining Luna in the worst case scenarios and tears would not stop running down her face. Right now all she felt was a gut wrenching pain, she was scared to death of what Luna must be going through. Beau stayed on the phone, now talking as low as possible to make sure Kaia would not hear the hopelessness in his voice at this point. Jaden, his head of security had checked out the cameras all around the house and all they knew at this point was that a car with no number plates had stopped to pick the nanny up with Luna in her arms and a bag, which they assumed was filled with Luna's clothes and toys. Jaden had filled the cops in on the situation at the Navarro house and Beau was getting irritated at the amount of calls he was getting, making him repeat everything over and over again. What he wanted right now was to pull Kaia close to him and just feel
Kaia could not be bothered to even get up or move to make space for Jen. Leon on the other hand felt like a third wheel in what felt like a family matter even as Beau pulled him into his office. "You are said to be the best in tech Leon Micheals, can you trace these text messages. I will make sure you are fully compensated for the trouble. I just need my child back home or Kaia will slowly die inside. She's already going crazy and so am I!" Leon understood how desperate Beau was but could not help but feel offended that he would even suggest payment. "Beau I will help in any way I can, but I do not need any kind of compensation. I might be a child and not have any of my own but you guys have grown to be like family to me. Luna's safety is my priority too right now." Beau sat in his chair, looking angry and defeated at the same time. He took a deep breathe, realizing that what Leon was saying made sense and also sensing his offense. Touching the bridge of his nose, Beau felt the need
Beau and his head of security led the men to the location flashing on his screen, Leon sitting by his side practically shitting himself, begging but failing to stop Beau from this suicide mission. Beau was not having any of it, what he wanted was his life back to normal, his wife's smile back and a healthy pregnancy for them. The image of Kaia rolled up into a ball, not even wanting to move kept haunting him, it hurt him so deep. His car screeched to a halt outside the abandoned warehouse, which Beau wondered how Mike had even gotten access to. His heart pounded with a mixture of anger and determination. With a quick glance at the darkened windows and graffiti-covered walls, Beau steeled himself and stepped out into the cold night air, following his men to the main entrance. Leon stayed in the car, knowing he was only here because Jen would have killed him for letting Beau go anywhere alone. Beau would stop at nothing to get his little Lulu out of this place. His sweet little girl w
Jen woke up to her phone ringing and as soon as she noticed it was Leon calling after hours of silence, she decided she would leave the room to answer so she wouldn't wake Kaia up. A sense of doom washed over her as answered the phone. "Babe, is Kaia with you? I don't want her to panic!" Jen was already thinking the worst. Did they find Luna? Was the little girl okay? What would they tell Kaia if anything had happened to her child? Jen's world started spinning and she sat down as she tried to breath. "What's going on Leon? Where is Luna?" The silence on the other end of the phone was suffocating to say the least. Leon immediately saw his mistake, remembering the real issue that had brought him to the predicament he was in now. He wanted to explain things before the cops did because it would sound worse than when it came from a friend. "No, oh God no Jen, please stay calm. Luna is here with me, in my arms as we speak. She doesn't really know me but I guess I was the closest calm pers
Kaia knew this go could either way but she had to keep strong for her babies. "Doctor, Mrs. Navarro is here and I think you can start communicating everything with her from now on," Leon said before the doctor could say anything, pointing at Kaia for the doctor to see. Kaia felt her heart skip a beat as she tried her best to give the doctor a small smile. "Mrs. Navarro, I'm so sorry we are meeting under these circumstances. Your husband suffered a really horrible injury to the head but there must be a higher power watching over him because the bullet did not injure any important organs, it did not even go through the skull, just got stuck right above his skull. We were able to take the bullet out but he's still in a short coma." Kaia was not sure whether to cry or laugh at how the doctor was describing all this as a lucky break, especially right after she had been wondering what she had done so wrong to deserve everything they were being dealt by this bigger being or the whole univ
