Chapter 5

The sun was strong and the weather was very hot, Mona woke up from sleep. She felt a little better and glanced at the medicine prescription, it turned out that this afternoon she had to take pills to cure the fever. She got up slowly and went to the kitchen to prepare porridge for her, a meal for her brother-in-law.

"Bismillah," Mona said, getting up from the bed and slowly heading to the kitchen.

Mona started cooking with a weak body, she had to do homework because she didn't want to trouble her brother-in-law any more. Carefully preparing the ingredients and then frying, she smiled when everything was done. She slowly made her way to Arka's office because she knew he was busy with his work.

"Brother-in-law," Mona called in a low voice as she knocked on the door.

"Come in!" Arka ordered without looking at the open door.

"Brother-in-law, lunch is ready," Mona said, making Arka glance over and focus on ignoring her sister-in-law's words.

Mona stood silently in front of the door, waiting for Arka to respond. Suddenly, the sound of her stomach rumbling made Arka reach for the stomach that had been struggling to be filled. The man immediately got up and passed Mona, his sister-in-law following close behind.

"Brother-in-law want some coffee?" Mona asked quietly when she reached the kitchen, seeing the man sitting in a chair.

"Hmmmm, just make some and I'll drink it later," Arka replied and scooped up some food.

Mona brewed the coffee first and then started eating the porridge when she was done. She had to eat a lot to get healthy, so after the mushy rice, she got up. She went to her room and brought a glass of water.

"Should I rest or clean the house?" Mona asked herself.

"Just rest, if you work, the pain will get worse and I'll be the one in trouble," Arka snapped coldly and firmly as she passed Mona's room with the door open.

"Thank you, Brother-in-Law, for letting me rest, I'm sorry for the trouble," Mona said, bowing her head and stepping to the door to close it as Arka left.

At nightfall, the sound of the bell made Arka, who was relaxing in the living room, rush to the door. Her gaze immediately met with several young people Mona's age. She stared coldly, looking at them one by one, making them look down.

"Why did you come here?" Arka asked in a cold tone.

"Well, Uncle, we wanted to see Mona why she hasn't been coming to school," replied one boy in a shaky voice.

"Mona is sick," said Arka, still standing at the door.

"May we visit Mona, Uncle?" asked the man trying to keep his voice from trembling as he felt a creepy aura emanating from Arka's body.

Arka just let out a rough breath, then cleared his throat making all of their hearts pump faster. "Don't be long because it's getting late!" Arka's order was answered by everyone's nod, Arka ordered them to enter and follow Mona to her room.

"Mona, your friends are visiting," Arka said coldly while knocking on the door, who heard immediately rushed to open the door.

"Yes, Brother-in-law," Mona said weakly and looked at them all.

"Don't take too long, it's getting late," Arka said not as advice but as an order.

"Yes, Brother-in-law, thank you for letting them in," Mona replied without Arka responding, the man immediately left.

"Mona, are you okay?" asked the man who had been talking to Arka.

"I'm fine, Raka. Thank you guys for visiting me," Mona said quietly inviting them to come in and sit down, without closing the door.

"Yes, you're welcome, it's Raka who really wants to see how you're doing," said Mirna, pointing at Raka.

"I'll make you a drink first," Mona said to everyone's shaking hands.

"No, we'll only be a minute. Your uncle is scary, Mon," Dimas said with a nod from everyone.
