When we got to the dining room, we went to the buffet and I grabbed biscuits and sausage gravy with hash browns, bacon and a large cup of coffee. We went to sit with Alpha Kenny and Luna Kyra and were greeted with smiles. Luna Kyra smiled, “Good morning. Are you ready for the second biggest day of the month?”

I laughed, “Yeah. It’s getting a great start too.” Luna Kyra asked, “How is that?” I smiled, “They are taking Elana off the ventilator as we speak.” Luna Kyra gasped, “Oh! Can I come with you?” I laughed, “Of course.”

Alpha Kenny suggested, “I’ll stay here and let you know when guests start coming in.” I sighed, “Once again, we are going to have another day of organized chaos.” Isaac sighed, “But at least this is the good kind of chaos.” I laughed, “I guess you’re right.”

After breakfast, we went to the hospital. As soon as I laid eyes on Elana, she looked so much better. I asked, “How are you feeling?” She replied in a weak, gravelly voice, but she was smiling, “I feel so much be

Miss Franklin and I walked into the pack house and I introduced her to Alpha Kenny, Luna Kyra and Isaac. I asked, “Would you like to go to the dining room and get some coffee? We can sit and talk there.” She nodded, “That sounds great.”When we sat down, she asked, “So how did everything go after you were picked up?” I recounted all of my life’s major happenings since the age of four and she was floored, to say the least.I finished, “Enough about me. I heard Mister Franklin passed, how are you doing?” She shrugged, “I’m okay. My mate was my life for many years. I’ve just been trying to move past it. He wouldn’t want me to lay down and die for him. I’m too young for that. I still have a lot of years left, so I’m hoping for a second chance mate.”I asked, “Do you still own the store?” She shook her head, “No, I have passed that on to my son. He’s an adult now. I just work there for something to do now. I’m not there all the time anymore either.” I smiled, “That’s really good. You deser

I growled, “Put him in cuffs and take him to the cells. He killed my parents and tried to kill me.” Alpha Kenny scowled, “Are you positive?” I nodded, “I will never forget the eyes of the wolf who stared me down after ripping my father’s throat out. But I will know for sure if you force him to shift.”Alpha Kenny turned to the man and commanded him to shift. The man stripped out of his clothes and shifted into the same wolf who I now had no doubt killed my parents. I nodded to Alpha Kenny, “He is the wolf who killed them and tried to kill me.”Just then, I heard Miss Franklin’s gasp from behind me, “She is not mistaken. He is one of them. I watched the whole thing happen, alpha. I wouldn’t forget him either.” Alpha Kenny commanded him to shift and get dressed, then he was put in silver cuffs and taken to the cells. As soon as he was out of sight, I broke down and started crying uncontrollably. Alpha Kenny held me closely until Isaac ran to me, “What’s wrong? What happened?” Alpha Kenny

I gasped, “Oh, goddess, Miss Franklin! That’s terrible. I’m so sorry.” She sighed, “It was not long after you and your parents were attacked. They went crazy for a while, just killing people for the fun of it.”I gasped as I asked, “Were they looking for me?” She nodded, “I knew about your wolf. The goddess told me. She gave me the gift of sight so that I could watch over you, no matter where you are. I would be able to warn whoever was closest to you.”Jayla suggested, “Why don’t we give you our numbers too? That way if you see something urgent, and we are the only ones with her, you can call us.” Miss Franklin sighed, “I would love that. Thank you. We must protect the special wolves who will save our species from a horrific death.”I asked, “Miss Franklin, do you get visions?” She nodded shyly at me, “Only when the goddess wants me to see something. She told me that I needed to get to you. Then she told me where you are and how I can contact you. I didn’t expect to get an invitation

Miss Franklin and I sat in the observation room while Isaac and Alpha Kenny chained the guy to a chair. Queen Winnie stood at the doorway of that room with a scowl on her face. I could tell she was in his head when the guy, who had been swearing at my future father-in-law and my mate suddenly got quiet and still.I turned to Miss Franklin, “She’s in his head, controlling him. That’s what I was trying to do, but the evil in there was too much. I need to get used to it though. There are some dark witches who are trying to find me.”Miss Franklin gasped, “What are you going to do?” I shrugged, “I’m not sure yet. I’m well protected here, but they have been coming around occasionally to ask the guards if they’ve seen my wolf. Thankfully, no one except my inner circle of friends have seen her. Therefore, they are not lying. They haven’t seen her.”Miss Franklin laughed, “You really are a true luna. You are even protecting your pack from having to lie for you.” I shrugged and chuckled, “Yeah,

After asking many more questions with no answers received, Isaac and Alpha Kenny walked into the observation room. Isaac wrapped his arms around me, “Love, if you still don’t want to see the gross stuff, you should probably go back to the pack house.” I nodded, “I think I want to do that.”Miss Franklin asked, “Would it be okay if I watch? I watched this asshole do unspeakable things. I want to see him suffer.” Alpha Kenny nodded as he put a friendly hand on her shoulder, “Of course. If you think of any questions to ask, just hit the intercom button in front of you.”Alpha Kenny asked, “Isaac, do you want to help?” He growled, “Hell yeah. I want this guy to suffer.” Queen Winnie added, “I’m staying down here to tell you if he’s lying or to read his mind if he resists talking.” I thanked Queen Winnie and walked to the pack house with Kevin, Jayla, Mike and Tayna. I had no desire at all to see and hear the things that were going to happen to Zev.I sat in Luna Kyra’s office and talked wi

Luna Kyra and I stood up so quickly that it caused the warriors protecting us to stand and take a defense stance. I suggested, “We need to get them out of there.” We all walked to the kitchen and identified the men from a distance. Luna Kyra sent a mind link to Gamma Axel to send warriors.Meanwhile, Kevin, Jayla, Mike and Tayna split up and blocked every exit from the kitchen and didn’t let them leave. The men looked at us and asked why they were being held. I asked, “Does the name Zev ring a bell?”All three men froze in fear and I smiled, “You can stop blocking your scents now. We know who you are. Get ready, boys. You are about to meet our Alpha and my mate, the Alpha Heir.”One of the men snarled at me, “We should’ve finished you off when we had the chance.” Luna Kyra laughed, “I, for one, am glad you didn’t. Our pack is going to have one kick-ass luna because y’all failed.”My head whipped over to face Luna and I grinned widely. Luna Kyra laughed knowing I was shocked at her use

I could smell my captor and it wasn’t a rogue, but he was from another pack. I just didn’t know which one. I could feel he was a higher rank and his wound on his hand healed within a minute.I continued screaming as he laughed, “Girl, don’t you remember that these doors are soundproof.” I closed my eyes and took deep breaths, calming myself. While I continued doing this, I mind linked Jayla, “Jayla! Get in here! I’m being taken!”The man picked me up and started toward the balcony, when the door burst open. All four of my bodyguards ran straight for us and I started feeling fangs on my neck. I laughed, “I’m already marked, dumb shit. Who are you?”Jayla stopped everyone and I asked the guy again, “Who are you?” The man answered, “I am Alpha Roman Addams from The Blood Mountain Pack. I don’t care if you’re marked. Once I mark you his mark will disappear.”I shook my head, “Not going to happen asshole.” I stomped his foot as hard as I could. I heard bones breaking and the alpha yelled as

When Stone walked into Alpha Kenny’s office with a mountain of a man beside him, I smiled. For a man who was trained to kill an adversary in over one hundred ways, his demeanor was calm and caring but you could tell that he could easily turn deadly in a heartbeat.I looked into his mind and saw that he is a good man and knew nothing of his Alpha’s plans. I could also see that he genuinely cared for his pack and the people in it. I linked Alpha Kenny and Isaac, “This man will make an excellent Alpha. He has everything it takes to be a fair and compassionate leader.”Isaac nodded, “Thank you, love.” He then turned to the pack gamma and Alpha Kenny started, “Gamma, can I ask your name?” The gamma replied, “Alpha Kenny, Alpha Heir Isaac, I am Gamma Mateo with the Blood Mountain Pack.” Alpha Kenny nodded and explained, “Gamma Mateo, please take a seat. We have an issue that we need to discuss.”Gamma Mateo sat in a chair across the desk from him and Alpha Kenny began, “Gamma, your alpha and

I shook my head, “There is absolutely no way that could happen, son. You guys are just as much my real children as the unborn ones are. I have never had a favorite child and I will never start. The pack knows this too. That means, Blaine, no matter what sex our future children are, you will still be the Alpha heir. You are the one the Goddess wants leading this pack.”Blaine shrugged, “Then I guess I’m all in.” I smiled, “Thank you, son.” Isaac smiled, “I’m really proud of you both. Your mom was super worried about hurting your feelings. We even agreed that if you were not okay with us having a baby, we wouldn’t even try.”Heather furrowed her brow, “Mom, why would you do that?” I shrugged, “Because I want you two to feel like you are part of our family, even if it means not doing something I want. But that’s what parents do all the time.”Blaine gave me one of the most serious looks that I have ever seen and I even felt a little alpha aura come out, “Mom, don’t ever sacrifice your hap

I gasped, “Are you serious?” Doctor Spink answered, “I’m very serious. There is a lot of scar tissue, but it hasn’t started affecting your uterus or ovaries. We may need to have you take some hormones to be able wake up your ovaries. Are you still having your periods regularly?” I nodded, “Yes.”She smiled, “This may not be so hard on you. The recovery from your surgery can be painful, but I can give you medicine for that.” I suddenly heard Onyx in my head, “If she can get rid of all that scar tissue, I can prepare our uterus and ovaries. No hormones necessary. They will just make both of us moody.”I asked, “How soon can we do the surgery?” She asked, “Have you eaten or drank anything other than water this morning?” I answered, “No. I figured you would need fasting blood work.” She smiled, “Good. I would like to have your pre-operative blood work today and schedule your surgery for ten days from now. Does that sound good to you?” I nodded, “That will give me time to prepare for it.”S

Three months LaterAfter three months of going to Iced Moon Pack to see our grandbabies and to help Lena and Lucas settle into their new roles as parents, we finally had a little more free time. It’s hard enough to adjust to the new life with one child. I couldn’t imagine how it would be with three. They have already started sleeping through the night, so I felt better about less frequent visits.Once we were able to stop going up there so often, Isaac took me to see a special OB/GYN surgeon in Saint Louis. He led me to the office and he checked me in. The receptionist gave me a clipboard with a questionnaire to complete and we went to the waiting room. I finished completing the form just in time for the nurse to walk out and call my name.Isaac pushed my wheelchair as we followed the nurse to an exam room. She shut the door and turned to us, “I’m Julie. I am Doctor Spink’s nurse. I just need to go over some information with you and I need to take your vital signs.” I nodded, “Okay.”A

We got a big surprise. Well, Heather wasn’t surprised, but she kept it a secret. We have three new grandbabies! Triplets! Lena had two boys and one girl. Blaine was so excited to have two nephews and a niece to spoil. Isaac and I were over the moon. The first baby born was a boy, Joshua Douglas, weighed just five pounds, six ounces. For a triplet, that’s a big boy. The next baby was a girl, Isabel Zariah, weighed just three pounds, ten ounces, and was in an incubator for a few days. They wanted her to gain at least one pound before she left the hospital. Finally, Kenneth Isaac weighed four pounds, twelve ounces and also spent a little time in an incubator to get him to gain a little weight.Isabel and Kenneth got to go home four days after Joshua. We were so excited to spend time cuddling with each of them before we had to go home. As I held each of them, I started wishing I had been able to have a child of our own. I started to get depressed but talked myself into putting that energy

Seven Months LaterI pushed my wheelchair as fast as I could from our bedroom to the living room and yelled throughout the house on the way, “Is everyone ready to go? We need to get to Lena!” Isaac, jogging behind me, started chuckling, “Slow down, love. The babies will come whether we are there on time or not.” I sighed, “But I want to be there as soon as they are born. We need to go.”Blaine’s tires squealed as he came to a stop in the living room, “I’m ready to go. We’re just waiting for Heather and Aadi.” Aadi joined us, “Franco will join us outside. He already got someone to cover his patrols for the next couple days.”I smiled, “He has been a real advantage for our warriors. We need more bird shifters.” Aadi laughed, “I got really lucky. He’s a very good mate. He loves all of you because you are my family.” I gushed, “Aw. He’s already part of our family too.”Heather rushed to the living room and yelled, “Okay! I’m ready! I even remembered my presents for the babies!” I asked, “W

Six weeks laterThe past six weeks have been an adjustment period for all of us. Blaine and Elizabeth have been looking for reasons to see each other, driving us all crazy. We have finally resorted to letting them take turns, every other weekend, taking our packs’ private jets to the other pack. We told each of our pilots they were not allowed to go anywhere else.We felt Lena’s absence each time we sat at the table to eat dinner and each time we loaded up in the truck. Blaine and Heather loved having the extra room in the back seat. Heather was very vocal about her opinion on Lena’s absence the first couple weeks. Thankfully, she has let up on that. Now my heart can heal and let my daughter live her best life.Isaac and I have felt her absence a lot. She always had such a different way of thinking about solutions to problems that we looked forward to getting her input. Heather, however, has another way of finding solutions. Her oracle abilities allow her to see the best solutions or t

We were almost done eating breakfast when Heather walked into the kitchen and grabbed a bottle of juice from the refrigerator and a banana from the fruit basket. She started to walk out of the kitchen, but turned around and smiled, “I’m going for my run. It’s a ten-mile day. The girls are on their way. Also, I do not want to talk about the stuff I heard last night.”We all laughed as she ran out of the house to meet her friends. I smiled, “She is so much like me. I did the same thing. My friends and I got up to twenty-mile days. She’s doing very well at seven years old. She will get done with her run, attend warrior training, allow four hours for Luna training, then two more hours for Beta mate training.“Then she goes to our home gym and meets her Uncle Axle for Gamma training and more fighting style training. She wants to be prepared for everything. She doesn’t stop. She has asked to be homeschooled so she can do it on her schedule. She is staying caught up and getting straight A’s.

The next morning, I woke up a little later than usual, but still earlier than everyone else, aside from Aadi. She is always on top of everything. After I finished my morning routine, I went to the kitchen and found Aadi finishing up breakfast.Aadi smiled, “Good morning, Zariah. How did the run go?” I sighed, “Lucas recognized Lena as his mate and accepted her.” Aadi asked, “So does that mean she will be leaving us today?” I nodded, “I think they are planning to leave today, after she packs her things.”Aadi sighed, “I’m not ready for her to go.” She sat my coffee in front of me on the table and continued, “I’m going to miss the hell out of her. She helps me a lot.” I nodded, “I know. She is a big help to the pack, but that means she will be an amazing Luna for Lucas. That’s what I’ve been training her for. It’s all I can ask of her; to be the best Luna she can be. I’m so proud of her.”That was when Alpha Doug and Luna Kathryn walked into the kitchen. Alpha Doug asked, “Are you talkin

For the last two years, Blaine had known that Elizabeth was his mate and it had been making him crazy. He still had another two years before her first shift. Instead of making himself crazy over that, he had buried himself in school and Alpha training. He had also been working on training his wolf. The warriors were shocked and amazed at his solid black wolf with amber eyes that glowed. They were also shocked that his wolf could run and fight when his human form couldn’t move from the waist down. They were also jealous that his clothes stayed intact when he shifted. He and Lena had been looking forward to seeing their mates every two weeks. We had been taking turns with Alpha Doug and Luna Kathryn on travelling to one another’s packs. I was just happy our packs had private jets to use, which greatly reduced travel time.Lena had been spending the past two years in Luna training with me. It gave her a big distraction from the mate bond and she was happy to bury herself in it. She had be
