After asking many more questions with no answers received, Isaac and Alpha Kenny walked into the observation room. Isaac wrapped his arms around me, “Love, if you still don’t want to see the gross stuff, you should probably go back to the pack house.” I nodded, “I think I want to do that.”

Miss Franklin asked, “Would it be okay if I watch? I watched this asshole do unspeakable things. I want to see him suffer.” Alpha Kenny nodded as he put a friendly hand on her shoulder, “Of course. If you think of any questions to ask, just hit the intercom button in front of you.”

Alpha Kenny asked, “Isaac, do you want to help?” He growled, “Hell yeah. I want this guy to suffer.” Queen Winnie added, “I’m staying down here to tell you if he’s lying or to read his mind if he resists talking.” I thanked Queen Winnie and walked to the pack house with Kevin, Jayla, Mike and Tayna. I had no desire at all to see and hear the things that were going to happen to Zev.

I sat in Luna Kyra’s office and talked wi

Luna Kyra and I stood up so quickly that it caused the warriors protecting us to stand and take a defense stance. I suggested, “We need to get them out of there.” We all walked to the kitchen and identified the men from a distance. Luna Kyra sent a mind link to Gamma Axel to send warriors.Meanwhile, Kevin, Jayla, Mike and Tayna split up and blocked every exit from the kitchen and didn’t let them leave. The men looked at us and asked why they were being held. I asked, “Does the name Zev ring a bell?”All three men froze in fear and I smiled, “You can stop blocking your scents now. We know who you are. Get ready, boys. You are about to meet our Alpha and my mate, the Alpha Heir.”One of the men snarled at me, “We should’ve finished you off when we had the chance.” Luna Kyra laughed, “I, for one, am glad you didn’t. Our pack is going to have one kick-ass luna because y’all failed.”My head whipped over to face Luna and I grinned widely. Luna Kyra laughed knowing I was shocked at her use

I could smell my captor and it wasn’t a rogue, but he was from another pack. I just didn’t know which one. I could feel he was a higher rank and his wound on his hand healed within a minute.I continued screaming as he laughed, “Girl, don’t you remember that these doors are soundproof.” I closed my eyes and took deep breaths, calming myself. While I continued doing this, I mind linked Jayla, “Jayla! Get in here! I’m being taken!”The man picked me up and started toward the balcony, when the door burst open. All four of my bodyguards ran straight for us and I started feeling fangs on my neck. I laughed, “I’m already marked, dumb shit. Who are you?”Jayla stopped everyone and I asked the guy again, “Who are you?” The man answered, “I am Alpha Roman Addams from The Blood Mountain Pack. I don’t care if you’re marked. Once I mark you his mark will disappear.”I shook my head, “Not going to happen asshole.” I stomped his foot as hard as I could. I heard bones breaking and the alpha yelled as

When Stone walked into Alpha Kenny’s office with a mountain of a man beside him, I smiled. For a man who was trained to kill an adversary in over one hundred ways, his demeanor was calm and caring but you could tell that he could easily turn deadly in a heartbeat.I looked into his mind and saw that he is a good man and knew nothing of his Alpha’s plans. I could also see that he genuinely cared for his pack and the people in it. I linked Alpha Kenny and Isaac, “This man will make an excellent Alpha. He has everything it takes to be a fair and compassionate leader.”Isaac nodded, “Thank you, love.” He then turned to the pack gamma and Alpha Kenny started, “Gamma, can I ask your name?” The gamma replied, “Alpha Kenny, Alpha Heir Isaac, I am Gamma Mateo with the Blood Mountain Pack.” Alpha Kenny nodded and explained, “Gamma Mateo, please take a seat. We have an issue that we need to discuss.”Gamma Mateo sat in a chair across the desk from him and Alpha Kenny began, “Gamma, your alpha and

I gathered my quartet of warriors along with the soon-to-be pack beta, Stone, and we all walked the short distance to our house. On the way there, I asked Stone, “Why are you on duty with me instead of Alex?” He answered, “Alex is currently busy in the dungeon. Unfortunately, Alpha Roman and his beta just ensured that he will be busy for most of the night.”I shook my head, “No, the council will be here soon, so their investigators will interrogate them before they die.” Stone sighed in relief, “That will be good. In the meantime, I am in charge of your safety. Therefore, when we get to your house, you will give me the key and I will clear the house with three of your warriors. I don’t want a repeat of the incident that you just dealt with.”I nodded, “I agree. I don’t want another episode like that.” When we got to my house, I handed the house key to Stone and he motioned for the rest of my warriors to come with him. Tayna stayed on the porch with me while we heard each person inside

When we arrived at the pack house, Luna Kyra looked at me with a sly grin and mind linked, “Are we trying to give my son a heart attack tonight?” I laughed in my mind, “No heart attack, but I heard a lot of growling.” She smiled, “Possessive. I like it.” I nodded, “Me too.”I cringed, “Is this appropriate for the dinner tonight?” She smiled, “It’s perfect. You will have the whole pack proud of their beautiful luna.” Isaac put his arm around my waist and pulled me closer to him, “Which is why she will be glued to my side the whole time.”Alpha Kenny laughed, “That’s my son. I would do the same thing. I seem to recall my mate wearing a dress somewhat similar to that one.” Luna Kyra laughed, “Because it is one of your great-grandmother’s designs, dear. Mine had slightly smaller cut-outs, but not much smaller.” Luna Kyra and I giggled while our mates growled. We walked into the dining room when we were tackled by an overly excited Abby. My mate’s cousin screamed, “OH MY GODDESS! I can’t wa

I could feel tears starting to well in my eyes and Isaac pulled me close to him. When Alpha Kenny went to sit down, Isaac and I stood and hugged him. I kissed his cheek and smiled, “I love you, dad.” He smiled tenderly at me with his eyes glistening from unshed tears, “I love you too, daughter.”There were loud howls in the hall and we joined in. When our dinner was served, we all started eating. I was having so much fun visiting with everyone at our table when I started feeling weird. Onyx chuckled, “Lady, someone laced our food with some extra strong weed.”I furrowed my brows, “This has to be humans. A wolf would know that weed doesn’t affect us like humans.” I tapped Isaac’s leg, “Do you feel weird?” He shook his head, “No, why? Do you?” I answered, “I do. Onyx is saying someone laced my food with weed.”Isaac looked at me like I had grown a second head. I laughed, “I swear, I’m not joking.” Isaac sighed in frustration and waved Alex to come over. When Alex approached, Isaac sugges

Alpha Kenny growled in irritation, “I will not have Zariah risking her life any more tonight. You two go to bed. Someone here clearly has a death wish to keep trying to poison you.”Isaac growled, “I agree. Dad, I would go to the cells with you, but…” Alpha Kenny shook his head, “No, your place is with your mate tonight. There is no need for you to be anywhere else.”Isaac kept his arm around my waist as we walked to our room, surrounded by warriors. When we got there, the warriors cleared the suite before we stepped inside. We had constant guards outside our door all night and Alex slept on the couch in our sitting room.Isaac and I went to our room and I grabbed a pair of shorts and a tank top, then went to the bathroom. Isaac grabbed a pair of pajama bottoms and joined me.As we took our shower, Isaac took my loofah from me and started washing my back for me. He then turned me around and started washing the rest of my body. He successfully conveyed his feelings for me through his ac

I woke up the next morning to an empty bed. I sat up and looked around only to find a note where my mate had slept. It read, “I hated to leave you alone this morning, but dad needed me in the cells. Alex is with me, but Tayna is on the couch while the rest of your warriors are scattered from outside our door all the way to the end of our floor.“It looks like we are going to be super busy today. Just know that I will do my best to be by your side as much as possible. In the meantime, please don’t go anywhere at all without your guards. I couldn’t live with myself if anything happened to you, love. I love you with everything I am, Isaac.”I smiled and gushed as I held the note to my chest and put it in a safe place. I wanted to keep it forever. I got out of bed and went to the bathroom to take my shower. When I was done, I put on a cute sundress and a pair of sandals, then brushed out my hair. Since I washed it last night, I decided to leave it alone today. I put a small, tight braid on

After the initial crowd of people were let out of the gates, I turned to Isaac, “That’s not all of them. There is one face, in particular, that was not present.” My mate nodded, “I know. I have already sent warriors to get them.” I suddenly watched his eyes glaze over and I knew something was wrong. When his eyes cleared, he growled, “The warriors are having to forcefully bring her and her entire family here. They are refusing to leave.” I sighed, “I was hoping it wouldn’t come to this.” I mind linked Lena, “Hey sweetie, can we use your levitation skills for a bit? We have an argumentative family. They are giving our warriors a hard time about leaving.”She smiled, “Sure, mom. Can I use your computer to look at the cameras?” I smiled, “Please do.” It didn’t take long before the entire family floated to the gate. Isaac smirked, “I never even thought to use our daughter’s ability.” I shrugged, “That’s why you have me, love. We complement each other.”When the family was placed on the gro

After hearing all of them whine and cry on the way out of the pack house, Isaac and I went to the dining room to join our children. When we reached the dining hall, all three of them waved us over to our table. Isaac escorted me to the table and I asked, “Would you please get a glass of tea for me?”Isaac nodded and went to the beverage station to prepare our drinks and I turned to our children, “Blaine, you don’t have to worry about any of them hurting you again. They are being banished. Your dad and I just need to do the official banishment in about an hour.”Blaine asked, “Why in an hour?” I answered, “Because there are a couple of them that did things to you that were so awful that I want every trace of them gone. I want every single family member gone. You understand me, don’t you?” He nodded, “I understand. Thank you, mom.”Isaac sat my coffee in front of me and then took a seat next to Blaine, “We would do anything to keep all of our kids safe.” Blaine asked, “Wouldn’t you do an

Ten minutes later, we were all in Isaac’s office, waiting for the rest of the employees from the orphanage to arrive. I sat in my wheelchair next to Blaine while my girls sat on the couch on my other side. Isaac sat at his desk, smiling at all of us.I asked, “What has you so happy, love?” He smiled, “If you could see what I see, you would be happy too. Seeing my whole family together makes my heart happy.”Blaine furrowed his brow, “What do you mean?” I smiled, “Let me see.” I was able to easily access Isaac’s mind and look through his eyes. I smiled at the sight and turned to the kids, “I wish we could frame this memory and display it in the main foyer. It’s absolutely perfect.”I projected the photo onto the white wall and all of our kids gasped. Lena laughed, “Mom, you need to warn us before you do that. Blaine didn’t know you could do it.” I looked Blaine in the eyes, “Son, you are a special wolf in a family of special wolves. We are going to keep this a secret until you are older

Blaine looked at Isaac and me with determination, “I can tell you who the abusers are, Luna.” I moved my wheelchair close to his and asked, “Are you okay, sweetheart?” He nodded, “I will be okay. I always am.” I smiled, “I know you are. I want to know how you would feel about being able to call the alpha and I your mom and dad?”His eyes went wide as he asked, “Can I call Heather and Lena my sisters?” I laughed as Lena walked in, holding Heather’s hand, “You better, because we will be calling you our little brother.” Blaine smiled, “I would love that, Luna.” Isaac asked, “Do you know what that means, Blaine? Do you know what it means to be our only son?”Blaine shook his head as he furrowed his brows in confusion, “I don’t, Alpha.” Isaac knelt down to his level, “It means you will be my heir. You will be the next alpha of our pack. Would you like that?”Blaine’s eyes went wide again, “I would be happy just having you as my family.” I smiled, “Well, you will also have that for the rest

*Trigger warning… Description of child abuse in this chapter. *As soon as I was dressed, the salesman from the wheelchair manufacturer brought my new custom wheelchair into the room. After he made some adjustments, I was happy that I finally had my new wheels. I started moving around the room and feeling like I was fidgeting in my seat.Nurse Aadi walked in with paperwork in her hand, “Luna, it’s time for discharge instructions.” I held out my hand and she approached me, “I’m very sorry for leaving you the way I did.” I chuckled, “It’s fine. I understand completely. This is an emotional time. I have something to ask you.”Aadi raised her brow, “Ask away.” I asked, “Would you be willing to be my personal assistant and nurse? I would make sure to allow you time to volunteer at the orphanage, if you want, and you would also be Blaine’s nurse, because we are adopting him as soon as we leave the hospital.”Aadi smiled, “I would love to accept the position. Would it be wrong if I don’t give

Four hours later, I was in my hospital room trying, and failing, to take a nap. I had too much on my mind and I would start sobbing at random times. I could not find peace within myself at all. I felt so guilty that we could not protect her the way she needed us to.I suddenly felt so heavy that I had no choice but to sleep. As soon as the darkness fell around me, I was immediately surrounded by the brightest light I had ever seen. It was red too. My first thought was, “Shit. I have pissed off the Goddess.” Then I heard her voice, “Yes, you have. Zariah, you know more than anyone that you cannot control the actions of other people.”I cheekily responded, “Well, actually, you did give me a certain ability.” The light got brighter, if that was even possible, “You cannot control what they do on their own. Do not patronize me right now. I’m not in the mood for games. Now. This is what you will do. You will stop feeling sorry for yourself. None of this is about you. It’s about your pack, yo

Aadi and I went to the room where Cheyenne was waiting to be taken for burial preparation. I was immediately struck by the amount of blood that was on the sheet covering her body. Apparently, Aadi was also stricken by the sight because she ran to Cheyenne’s body and collapsed onto it.I asked, “Exactly what was your relationship with Cheyenne, Aadi?” She answered, “Cheyenne was my late mate’s baby sister. She took shelter in this pack after running from a human testing facility. She destroyed the place on her way out of it.”I asked, “Did you know that Blaine is her biological son?” She nodded, “I did. Cheyenne swore me to secrecy. I was with her when she gave birth to him.” I asked, “Do you know who his father is?” She shook her head, “No. I don’t know exactly who he is. I know he was a rogue and a trafficker who had sold her to the lab. He took her virginity on the way to sell her. He’s an evil man. It’s a wonder that she was able to give birth to Blaine.”I cried, “So much for one s

She gasped, “But Luna, it’s almost time for your physical therapy.” I responded shortly, “They are bringing Cheyenne in and it’s not looking good. I need to be there. We can reschedule PT until later. It’s not like I’m getting out of here today.”The nurse helped me scoot into my wheelchair and we took off for the Emergency Department like a bat out of hell. When we got there, I found my mate and he was holding our sobbing daughters closely. Heather was the first to see me and she ran to me, “Momma! She’s gone.” I sobbed, “I’m so sorry, sweetheart.”While Heather climbed into my lap, Isaac approached, “She’s right. They couldn’t save her. Her heart had been still for too long.” I shook my head and started crying. The nurse beside me growled, “I need to see her.” I asked Isaac, “Do you think she and I could go see her?” He answered, “Yeah. I can get you both back there.”I asked, “Are you going

TRIGGER WARNING: Domestic abuse scene ahead (this chapter only)It had been two days since we initially spoke with Cheyenne about being my private nurse and assistant and we haven’t seen her since then. I was starting to get worried about her. I was still in the hospital because I had not completed my physical therapy requirements. My doctor wanted to be sure I could perform all activities of normal daily living safelyWhen the morning nurse came to take her morning vitals, I asked, “What happened to Cheyenne?” The nurse asked, “We are sending one of our coworkers to her place right now. She didn’t call in to let us know she won’t be in. That’s not like her at all.” I suggested, “Let me check on her before anyone goes in.”I watched as the nurse mind linked the coworker to hold off going to Cheyenne’s house, then I tried to get inside Cheyenne’s mind to see what she was seeing at that moment. It was harder than usual to do it, and then I saw nothing in her mind at all. That scared me b
