Chapter 14: Body Count Number 2.

Kimberly's eyelid split open to find herself lying by the roadside, stark naked. Shocked and befuddled, she groggily picked herself from the gravel, shuddering from the early morning cold breeze, her pale skin prickling with goosebumps.

As the panic set in, her droopy eyes scoured her surroundings, searching for any clue as to how she got there. She raised her head to the signboard that stood above her.

Squinting her eyes, the signboard read, “Goodbye from Lunadelephia!” The message seemed to glare at her as if mocking her with her growing unease.

She widened her eyes and gasped in disbelief. “How…?” She asked inwardly, her mind racing with questions. In a desperate attempt to cover up her nudity, she crossed her arm around her breast with one hand, and shielded her lower body with the other, hoping the improv would serve as a temporary substitute for clothing in the time being.
