98| Lost Traces

"This is a stupid hope!" thought Rain. "Why would I expect Benjamin to come to my aid and think he was part of a pack of wolves? Benjamin is just a mortal. He's currently a wolf because of the alcohol magic he's cast."

Rain looked at Jace, who continued to struggle.

"I just need to rely on my own strength," Rain muttered as she fumbled for the dagger she kept under her skirt. She gripped the base of the blade very firmly. It felt cold and foreign.

"Jace, I'm sorry if I can only be your burden!" Rain said to Jace as if it was their last goodbye. Rain pulled out the dagger and lifted it with trembling hands.
