The Full Moon Rejection
Summer's POV
The moonlight casts a silver sheen over everything, making it look unreal. I whisper to myself, “Please, please, let him choose me.” I nervously grip my dress, feeling the fabric between my fingers. I try to calm my racing heart, but it’s no use. It beats faster and faster, as if it knows what’s coming. I glance around, seeking a friendly face. But all I see is Amelia, my nemesis, staring at me with cold blue eyes, her blonde hair shining in the moonlight. Her lips are curled in a sneer, as if she knows I’m doomed. I quickly look away, feeling my stomach drop. I shiver, as a chill runs down my spine. I wish I could disappear.
Jackson steps forward, his face expressionless, a head taller than everyone else, his broad shoulders and muscular arms making him look like a giant. His jet-black hair is slicked back. It gives him a sharp and ruthless appearance, and he has the power to make or break my life with his decision. I hold my breath, waiting for his words.
The Moon Goddess watches over us from her stone statue, her eyes seeming to pierce my soul. She is the one who chose me as Jackson’s mate, but what if he doesn’t want me? What if he doesn’t love me?
Suddenly, I hear her voice in my head, echoing like a distant thunder. She says, “Do not doubt yourself, my child. You are worthy of his love. You are the perfect match for him; he may not realize it yet, but he will soon. Trust in me, trust in fate, trust in your heart.”
A cold shiver runs down my spine as I stare into her eyes, searching for a hint of deception, unsure if she's truly telling me the truth or playing another one of her cruel games. Does she know something I don’t? Or is she just trying to comfort me with empty words?
I look up at her statue, hoping for a sign. But she remains silent and still, as if nothing had happened so I look at Jackson.
“Summer…” he watches me carefully as if waiting for me to say something first.
He clears his throat and speaks in a loud voice. “I reject Summer as my mate.” His words cut through the silence like a knife, stabbing me in the heart. A wave of pain surges, gasping.
"What?" I stammer, hoping he'll retract. But he doesn't; he crosses his arms. His stiff and cold face, devoid of any glance or care, makes it clear he doesn't care about me. Jackson just rejects me, like I’m nothing to him.
The pack members react with shock and sympathy, their gasps and whispers filling the air. They pity me, but they also probably fear me. They think I’m cursed, that I brought this upon myself. They don’t understand that I had no choice in this.
Before I can say anything else, I hear a sound behind me, a high-pitched and mocking laughter. It's Amelia, laughing at me. Her cold blue eyes shine with malice as her blonde hair glitters in the moonlight, creating an image of a wicked fairy. She's a chilling sight. Her lips are curled in a sneer, as if she knows I’m doomed. “Ha ha ha! Look at you, Summer! Look at what you’ve become! A pathetic and pitiful reject! You thought you could be his mate? You thought you could be an alpha’s mate? You’re nothing but a joke! A joke that everyone laughs at!”
I can’t stand here and let them mock me, let them hurt me, let them break me.
I turn to Jackson, tears streaming down my face. “How could you do this to me?” I cry out, my voice cracking. “How could you reject me in front of everyone? How could you be so cruel? Don’t you have any feelings for me? Don’t you have any respect for me? Don’t you have any honor?”
He doesn’t answer me. He doesn’t even look at me. He just stares ahead, his face blank and emotionless.
I realize then that he never cared about me. He never wanted me. He never loved me.
He rejected me.
He broke me.
He destroyed me.
I turn away from him, from the pack, from the Moon Goddess. I run into the dark forest, hoping to escape from this nightmare. But I can’t escape from the truth. I’m alone. I’m unwanted. I’m rejected.
I clutch my chest, feeling a crushing sensation in my heart. It feels like it’s breaking into pieces, like it’s bleeding out of me. I sob uncontrollably.
Luna appears beside me, her bluish glow like a ghostly light, and she nuzzles my cheek, speaking in a soft and soothing voice to comfort me. She says with soft voice.
“Summer, my sweet Summer, don’t cry.” She pauses and kisses my neck gently. “Don’t give up. You are not alone.” She pauses again and moves her head to my ear. “You are not unwanted. You are not rejected. You are loved.” She pauses for the last time and looks into my eyes. “You are loved by me, by your wolf power, by your soulmate. I love you and will always do, no matter what, always by your side, protecting you. You are my everything, Summer.”
But it’s not enough. Nothing can fill the void or heal the wound Jackson left in me. Nothing can make me forget the humiliation that he caused me.
I curl up on the ground, feeling numb and empty. Luna wraps herself around me, keeping me warm and safe. But I don’t feel anything anymore. I don’t care about anything anymore.
I just want to disappear.
Luna whispers in my ear, “What if I talk to Jackson’s Orion? Maybe he can help us understand what happened.”
I snap at her, “No! That’s stepping out of line. You can’t talk to him. He’s Jackson’s best friend. He’ll never tell us the truth. He’ll only make things worse.”
Luna flinches, hurt by my harsh words. But I don’t care. I don’t want her to interfere with my misery. I don’t want anyone to interfere with my misery.
I just want to be alone.
The Full Moon Rejection and a Rival's MockerySummer's POVI wonder, "What if Luna's right?" as I toss and turn in my bed. The memory of Jackson's cold, vacant stare when he rejected me and the echo of Amelia's cruel laughter haunt my thoughts. Does rejection always feel like this, like a sharp, stabbing pain in my chest?Throughout the night, my head throbs, and my heart races, as if they're engaged in a relentless battle. I can't help but recall the chilling rumors about female werewolves succumbing to death or madness from the pain of rejection by their mates. The stories that once seemed like empty threats now manifest as a palpable fear.Tears roll down my cheeks, and I whisper to myself, "Maybe I'm destined for that same fate." Luna's gentle voice comforts, "Just listen to me." I want to scream at Luna, I hold back, understanding that taking it out on her won't ease my anguish.I drag myself out of my room, feeling like a zombie. It’s the day after the moon night which means Jac
Luna’s Guidance and a Physical ShowdownSummer's POV“You’re not crying, are you?” Luna whispers.I lie, gazing at stars. I feel a warm presence in my mind, a gentle voice that speaks to me like a friend. It’s Luna, my inner wolf, the one who awakened in me when I turned sixteen. I sigh and close my eyes. “Luna,” I whisper, “Can I tell you something?”“Of course, my dear,” Luna replies. “You can tell me anything.”I open my eyes. It’s full and bright, casting a silver glow over the forest. My chest tightens.“Luna, I… I love Jackson.”Luna is silent for a moment. She knows who Jackson is. He’s the alpha of our pack, the leader of our family. He’s strong, brave, handsome, and kind. He took me under his wing when I joined the pack, teaching me the ways of the wolves, helping me control my shifts, protecting me from danger. He’s everything I admire and desire.“I know you do, my dear,” Luna says softly. “And I’m happy for you.”“Really?” I ask, hopeful.“Really,” Luna confirms. “You ha
Healing and Luna's Cunning PlanSummer's POVI pull the thread through the torn flesh, biting back a scream. The pain is unbearable. I must endure and heal, from wounds and the scars on my soul. They tried to break me. Amelia tried to make me submit, but I fought back.I glance at Luna, who is watching me with admiration and concern. She is my wolf, my other half, my strength. She has a plan to get us out of this hell, to find Jackson, our true mate. But I’m not sure if I can trust her. She says she can call on his wolf power, make him recognize us, make him love us. But what if he doesn’t? What if he rejects us, like Amelia did? What if he hurts us, like they all did?“Luna, are you sure this will work?” I ask her, as I tie the last knot on my arm. “Are you sure Jackson is our mate? Are you sure he will accept us?”She nods, her eyes shining with conviction. “I’m sure, I. I feel it in my bones, in my heart, in my soul. He is our mate, our true mate. He will love us, protect us, cheri
Love, Lies, and BetrayalSummer's POVI wake up. His scent fills the warm, bright room. I see Jackson sleeping, breathing softly. His lips and hair are messy."He's so handsome," I whisper. I smile, remembering last night. His kisses, his touch, his love. How he made me feel things I never felt before. How he explored every inch of me, how he made me moan his name.He whispered sorry. He rejected me in front of the pack. He loved me, wanted me, claimed me.But guilt gnaws at me. I lied to him, used my power. This is not real. He doesn’t know the truth, what I did. But I don’t regret it. He’s my life, my home.Quietly, I slide out of his arms, hoping not to wake him up. I need to face Luna, to tell her what I did. He pulls me back, holding me.“Stay with me,” he mumbles, sleepy. “Where are you going?”His soft kisses on my neck make me shiver. His heart beats against mine, his body warm and strong. I want to stay. But I can’t. I look into his eyes, and for a moment, I lose myself in h
Chapter 6Jackson's POVI hated Amelia for making Summer leave, she was being all possessive since her return, I don't even like her attitude. Her attention is weird, her care is obvious. Her pleasure is the same, her concern is very rapid. It's just way out of my league, and I can't deal with her constant nagging and troubles.“Why would you make her leave?” I was pissed at this lady standing in front of me, I wished I could just smash her head on the wall and make her pay.“Can't you see that she doesn't deserve you?” “That's my decision and not yours, If you would be kind enough to use the door”“Are you asking me out of your room?”“Leave” I snapped, tossing a pillow at her, she got lucky that my hands were far from the flower vase, she would surely get hospitalized for her attitude.“I'll surely show you that she's not worth the chase, Alpha” She stomped her feet on the ground before walking out of the room. I chuckled at her childish behavior, I skipped that part about her, she'
Chapter 7Summer's POVThe whole world turned dark as soon as Amelia ran back to the castle, I knew there was nothing on this earth that I could do that'll stop her from showing whatever she had to Jackson, this was deeper than I thought. I hoped that Jackson wouldn't do something that we all would regret as time goes on.“What do you think Jackson would do when he finds out about what we did?” I was hating myself for even agreeing to this in the first place, it felt like I was going to be punished severely for what I did, and I couldn't decipher the thoughts of Jackson when he found out I had him tricked.“Well I don't know, but we can't settle for less” My wolf seemed a bit consensual about the entire matter, it felt like she wanted this to happen.“I warned you that this wasn't right and the slim chances of us getting away with it, and now you see the outcome” I retorted, wishing I could turn back the hands of time, so I can be able to repair the bonds in a more natural way.“Hey w
Chapter 8Jackson pov“Just take her to the courtroom" I ordered the guards as they carried Summer, who was sobbing at this point, knowing that she was going to be banished from these lands.“What would you do about the people gathered in the courtyard to listen to your verdict?” I was even shocked that some people were gathered in the courtyard, knowing that this wasn't supposed to happen this way because I never asked for any gathering. Amelia must have organized the crowd to see to Summer's departure.“I'm not the one that asked for that, so whoever got them here should make them go before I lose it” I growled as she stared at me, running her hands through her hair.“What do I tell them?… oh don't worry about it, I'll do it myself.” she divulged, “You're the one who had them gather around right, so fix whatever this is” I walked out of her, heading straight to the courtroom.I was glad when I walked into the courtroom, all the council members were all present, I guess they were al
Chapter 9Amelia “Now that she's gone, we can have that dream life we talked about”I uttered, imagining the world with me and Jackson, knowing how beautiful it would be, there would be lots of love and happiness, everyone would be so happy that I don't think I would ever get sad when I'm with Jackson because everything he does in my eyes are right to me.“What life?” I was surprised at Jackson’s words, was he really saying these words to me, I really didn't understand why he was acting all weird since Summer's departure.“The life where we get to live like husband and wife” I giggled as he laughed so wild that I was even scared by his sudden laughter.“Isn't that so cute?” he uttered as he walked up to me, for me to understand his words perfectly.“Do you think I would get married to you?” He stutters, “No I don't think, I know you would get married to me” I uttered as he clasped his hands, startling me.“That's beautiful”“I wish you could look in a mirror and ask yourself if you'r
Chapter 23Jackson I was glad that I was talking to Lily. She was someone I could talk to but what I couldn't decipher was the fact that I didn't know much about her but I was conversing with her like we knew each other. We only met on rare occasions when we're little. Her father was my father's friend, she dated Viktor in the past when they were little. "That was how I banished her from the lands for the crimes that she committed" She hissed at my words."You didn't even care if she loved you genuinely, you just acted right so that the council would be proud that they have a leader. It's sad you know that right, behaving in this manner. Now you're stuck with that lady that's also competing for the place in your heart" She uttered as she stared at me for a while."I'm not getting married to her" "I need your opinion on what transpired today at the castle" I uttered as she sat beside me.I walked in on Amelia saying these words earlier today, "You have three days..." I couldn't he
Chapter 22Jackson Continuing the story for this young lady was really thrilling, I loved everything about her, knowing where she was from. The east wasn't far from the forest but surely far from my kingdom and I didn't want to trespass on boundaries to avoid it being backfired on me.I continued telling her my tale,My past "Just take her to the courtroom" I ordered the guards as they carried Summer, who was sobbing at this point, knowing that she was going to be banished from these lands.“What would you do about the people gathered in the courtyard to listen to your verdict?” I was even shocked that some people were gathered in the courtyard, knowing that this wasn't supposed to happen this way because I never asked for any gathering. Amelia must have organized the crowd to see Summer's departure.“I'm not the one that asked for that, so whoever got them here should make them go before I lose it” I growled as she stared at me, running her hands through her hair.“What do I tell t
Chapter 21 JacksonWe're surprised when we saw a lady walking through the forest like someone who was lost. I was interested in her beauty and the fact that she wasn't holding a bag. I wondered what she was doing in the forest at this time."What are you doing in the forest?" I knew her, but didn't quite remember where I had seen her."I'm looking for a herb for my mother's sickness" she divulged, "What's wrong with her?" I inquired, showing sympathy."Don't worry I don't want to bore you" she divulged as she stared into my eyes, I knew I had seen her somewhere."It's fine I insist" "My name's Lily" she divulged"I'm...""Jackson, who doesn't know you? You're the greatest Alpha of all time but can I ask you a question... We used to play together when we're kids remember" she chuckles as I remembered vividly that Viktor formerly corrected me on the pronunciation of her name."I remembered I couldn't pronounce your name, I called you lilies" we both laughed at my words."Well why's
Chapter 20Amelia"I'm getting married to Jackson and there's nothing anyone would do about it""What do you mean?""I have a strong hold on Rome and he's going to do whatever I want""How did you do that?""I don't know but I did it and it worked so there's nothing to worry about""I support you in whatever you want to do" "Well Bella what's with the silence?""I'm still recovering from the...""Oh I never told you that Bella rode Sir Rome's cock today at his office""Tell us how was it" "It was beautiful I loved every bit of it, let me tell you how it started" "I had to tell them from my thoughts" Bella stuttered, being close to her I heard her words as she explained further, "When I got to his room I explained to him how I wanted to talk with him, he sat down and I asked for a cup of Vodka because I wanted to ease off the tension in my legs and it worked so he asked me what I wanted and what I needed him for, he didn't want to talk to me at first saying that I had to talk to Am
Chapter 19Summer I was getting lost through the hallways and the chambers carefully built within this building, the only path I can vividly locate without hesitation is the road to the kitchen and the dining room and that's because they're on the first floor."So are you getting conversant with the places I'm showing to you?" He asked, I nodded at first but then uttered a different opinion which was the honest truth."I'll be honest I don't know, I know the path to the kitchen and dining room""That's good, with time you'll be conversant, I was in your shoes when I was a little boy" he sighed, "You were a little boy and I'm a grown woman now. This would take months for me to get accustomed to. '' I heaved up a sigh and got tired of walking."Whatever, you know at times you're funny and you have a wild sense of humor" He was complimenting me, a way to get to me I guess."Well that's how I'm made and I can't change that for a fact" I uttered, "You don't need to change that because I
Chapter 18Viktor I was glad that the council accepted Summer as a member of our pack, now she would have to denounce the membership of Jackson's pack so she would be free and able to be a part of our pack.As soon as I walked out of the courtroom accompanied by the Council Chief who was like a father to me, I was shocked that she was walking with Stone."Stone and his way with women" The Council Chief was right, Stone has his way with women that's the main reason he hasn't discovered who he's going to settle down with."Don't go harsh on her" I uttered as my eyes met with Summer's eyes, for a moment I lost track of time, I wasn't giving into her."Thank you for accepting me," she utters as she ran into my arms, hugging me so tight that I didn't even understand what was going on, she was strangling me, I knew she was excited that was the main reason why she did that and I didn't really want to know what she was going to do at this point but I couldn't give into her beauty. I wouldn't
Chapter 17SUMMER "Summer's an old friend of mine from the rival pack" Viktor divulged as the man approached me, he wasn't even smiling, although he was handsome for an old man but the grin on his face got me amused but I hid it to avoid being embarrassed."What business does she have here?" he inquired as he stared at Viktor, Viktor held my hands."Well she was banished" he divulged, as he escalates,"Have you asked questions about the reason why she was banished?""We need to deliberate this with the council, they're all waiting" He added as he held Viktor's hands and led him into the mighty castle."Guards bring her in" he ordered, I couldn't believe that someone erected this massive building here, the expensive materials made me understand that they've fought so many wars that they had taken their spoils."Do not treat her like a criminal because she's not" he ordered as we walked behind them."Why are you acting like we've not been over this before?" He uttered as he stared at Vi
Chapter 16Summer's POV"Do you know her?" I knew the guards were surprised that Viktor called my name, I knew he was going to recognize me, who wouldn't remember the smile on my face. I tried to hide my face but I guess he saw the marks on my hands, that would surely bring back memories."Yes I do, we have a past together" he divulged as his guards stared at him in awe, knowing that he had a plan of selling me off to the King of slaves."What are you saying?" He was getting confused, as he stared at Viktor, he cared less about their looks, he inquired, "What're you doing here in the forest?""It's a long story" I stuttered, trying to wear a sorry face so he would get to recognize me and help me, I wouldn't mind being his personal maid. I just want a pack that would protect me and a roof over my head that's all."Ok fine, hop on I'll take you to my lands" he uttered as that guard was being relentless."What if she was sent to spy on our lands?""This is risky I can assure you and ho
Chapter 15Jackson"You have three days..." I couldn't hear the rest of what Amelia was saying but I could tell that she was warning Sir Rome, wondering if she wasn't even thinking of what she was doing, behaving like someone who's drunk."Three days for what?" I was a bit surprised when I walked into Sir Rome's office, he seemed a bit tense over something that I couldn't decipher."Oh Alpha Jackson you're here" Amelia uttered as she jumped on my body and kissed me so badly that I felt like she was going to make me fall off my feet."What was that for?" I asked as I wiped her wet lips off my lips, she cared less about what I did which was weird."Just felt like doing this and that's because I've missed you" she stuttered as she giggled afterwards."Well respect the fact that the head of council is here" I uttered as she stared at Sir Rome in the manner that a dominant woman would to her partner and this gave me goosebumps but I disregarded it, knowing that they must have been joking w
