Unlikely Alliance

Everything had happened so fast. I didn't have any time to react and even if I did, the white light had been so bright that by the time I opened my eyes, Nimue was gone.

Kidnapped.

"She couldn't have just disappeared." Scratch snarled inside my head, equally vexed about our mate's kidnap.

Our minds were in sync and in that moment, a howl escaped my mouth as my bones began snapping. Within a couple of seconds, I fully shifted into Scratch's wolf form and howled before racing down the bleachers.

I got to the field below in a matter of seconds and began sniffing into the air with my heightened wolf smell. I was able to pick up Nimue's scent but it ended on the field grounds.

'Magic?' I thought to myself as I slowly shifted back into my human form.

My clothes were now torn but I ignored that as I went into thought.

"Crap, it all makes sense now," I muttered, rubbing my forehead with frustration. "Her abductors were witches!"
