Kiara's POV

As soon as I opened my eyes the next morning, I felt the excitement building inside me. I got up, took a refreshing shower, and headed to the dining room for breakfast. I enjoyed a hearty meal and sipped on some freshly brewed coffee, while I wondered what was Tom planning to do and why would he even want to take me out. I didn't want to go but he didn't give me a chance to cancel.

After breakfast, I started getting ready for the place where we were going to go to. Tom's team had graciously provided a breathtaking blue dress, crafted from the most exquisite silk money could buy. The dress had no shoulders, which added a touch of elegance to the overall look. I carefully slipped into the dress, admiring the way it hugged my curves perfectly.

To complete my look, I applied some makeup, focusing on highlighting my eyes and lips. I added a touch of mascara, some blush, and a hint of lip gloss to give me a youthful glow. I then put on a pair of silver earrings and a matching bracelet, adorned with beautiful, tiny diamonds that sparkled in the light. I wanted to show him what he'd never have.

As I looked at myself in the mirror, I couldn't help but feel confident and beautiful.

I was ready just in time and when I went outside into the parking place, I saw Tom waiting for me in front of a black car. As I looked at him, my eyes were drawn to the black three-piece suit he was wearing. The suit was perfectly tailored to fit his broad and muscular frame, emphasizing his intimidating presence. Underneath the suit, he wore a crisp white shirt that complemented his dark attire, making him look like a man of power and influence. However, I couldn't help but feel a sense of disgust towards him. His big and powerful hands, though magnetic in their own way, were symbols of his superiority complex. He acted like a king, but in reality, he was just a wealthy man with an inflated ego. His arrogance was palpable, and I couldn't stand being in his presence for another second.

"It's nice to see you, Kiara." he got my hand and slightly touched it with his lips. "You look beautiful."

"Thank you." I said and reached to open the door. He quickly took my hand again.

"Let me open it for you." he said.

"I could have done it by myself" I smiled bothered. "But thanks though." I sat down in the car.

Tom settled into his seat, adjusting himself until he was comfortable. He fastened his seatbelt securely and then turned the key in the ignition, starting up the car's engine. Before setting off, he reached for the radio and turned it on, selecting a station that played his favourite kind of music. As the first notes filled the car's speakers, Tom began to drive, maneuvering the vehicle smoothly onto the road. I also settled into my seat, ensuring that I was comfortable for the journey ahead. As we drove, I looked out of the window, taking in the passing scenery and enjoying the ride, still wondering where he was taking me.

As the minutes ticked by, the silence in the car only seemed to grow more oppressive and unsettling. Each second that passed brought with it a new wave of discomfort, as I struggled to come up with something to say that might break the awkward stillness. Despite my best efforts to fill the quiet with small talk or casual conversation, it seemed that nothing I could say would be enough to ease the tension that hung heavy in the air. I wasn't planning on talking to him. I didn't have anything to tell him, it was pointless. I just stayed in silence and waited for us to get to the place.

_____________

As soon as we reached our destination, he parked the car and quickly got out of the driver's seat. He walked over to my side of the car and courteously opened the door for me, making sure that I stepped out safely.

"Be careful." he instructed.

"It's not my first time walking in heels, you know. I had a life too, before you kidnapped me." I gave him a smile and he rolled his eyes.

As I gazed upon my surroundings, my eyes were drawn towards an impressive skyscraper that towered before me. Its height was awe-inspiring, and its sleek and modern design exuded an aura of luxury and sophistication. I couldn't help but wonder how much it had cost to construct such a magnificent building, and what kind of businesses could afford to occupy its prestigious offices.

As soon as we stepped inside the building, we were welcomed by a bustling crowd of customers. The walls were adorned with a stunning shade of dark blue with colorful paintings on the walls which made the place look even more luxurious. The lighting was provided by the grand chandeliers hanging from the ceiling, illuminating the area with a soft glow. The centrepiece of the room was a set of grand stairs, curved in shape and leading up to the upper level of the building. The overall atmosphere was one of sophistication and luxury, making it clear that this was a place to see and be seen.

One man came to us.

"Hello, Mr. Barton. It's nice seeing you here." he smiled. "I'll get you the best table. For two?" he looked at me.

"Yes, I want a table for me and my girlfriend." I looked at him shocked. As much as I wanted to yell at him for saying that, I had to keep it cool in front of the people around us.

"Amazing. I'll send you a waiter when I place you." he said and pointed to follow him.

As we made our way up the stairs, Tom placed his hand on my back in what felt like an unwelcome gesture. I was immediately filled with the urge to kick him, but I refrained. Upon reaching the second floor, we were greeted by a sight that took my breath away. The space was elegantly decorated with only three tables, which seemed to be reserved for a specific purpose, perhaps a VIP section. Tom, who seemed to be familiar with the place, led me to one of the chairs, pulled it out for me, and then took his seat. As we sat down, I couldn't help but take in the beauty of the surroundings.

One waiter came to our table and looked me up and down. Tom seemed to notice but he didn't do anything.

"Hello, I'm your waiter for today. Would you like to order something to drink, before the menu?" he looked at me.

"Yes." Tom said with a bothered and serious voice. "Whiskey for me and-"

"For you, miss?" he turned his face to look at me and smiled even more.

I noticed Tom getting jealous, which made me want to drive him crazy even more.

"I would like just a glass of white wine." I smiled at him back.

"Great. I'll be here in a second" he had and left us.

"What a sweet guy, don't you think?" I asked and crossed my fingers in front of my face, enjoying his jealousy.

"No." he answered with a furious voice. "Excuse me, I need to go to the bathroom." he stood up and left the table.

I sat and waited for him to come back. And when he did, I noticed the big smile he had on his face.

"What, did you fuck a girl in the bathroom? You seem a little too happy." I spoke.

"Oh, don't worry." he said, still holding the smile on his face.

That made me curious about what he did in the bathroom which made him so cheerful. However, I didn't ask more, because I knew he didn't like questions.

After a moment, a new waiter came to us. I looked at Tom shocked and scared of what he could've done.

Tom's POV As soon as Kiara stormed off to her room, the door slamming shut behind her like a damn punctuation mark, I didn’t follow. I didn’t call out, didn’t flinch. Let her run. Let her slam every door in the house if that made her feel like she still had some control. The silence she left behind wasn’t new. It was familiar. Expected. Heavy, sure—but not unbearable. Not for me.I turned and walked toward my office, shutting the door behind me with a quiet finality. In here, things made sense. No unpredictable emotions, no sharp-tongued accusations. Just facts. Strategy. Power. The walls were lined with my weapons, my files, and the truth no one else could handle. In this space, I wasn’t a man fighting with a girl I couldn’t stay away from—I was what I was meant to be: in control.I dropped into my chair, already pulling out my phone before I hit the leather. My fingers moved on instinct, dialing before the thought even formed completely. Finn. I needed updates. Something was off, a

Kiara's POV I stepped into the house, the cool silence of the kitchen wrapping around me like a thick blanket. The glass of water I poured seemed to do little to ease the tightness in my chest, the unease gnawing at the edges of my thoughts. Why would Tom let his people do such a thing? The question circled in my mind, unanswered, as his actions played out repeatedly in my head. What was he trying to prove? He wanted me to be one of them—one of those soldiers, obedient and silent, trapped in his web of control. But I wasn’t one of them, and he knew that. His efforts to break me only pushed me farther away, showing me the kind of person he truly was—a man to be feared, not trusted. I couldn’t understand what he thought he could win, but I could feel the weight of his power pressing down on me, reminding me that in his world, submission was the only choice.I turned to put the cup of water back in the sink, but the moment I moved, I saw him—Tom—standing just inches away from me. His pr

His eyes sparkled with admiration, and I could sense a flicker of desire simmering beneath the surface. A warm rush of satisfaction washed over me; I had anticipated this reaction all along, which was precisely why I had chosen to dress in such an alluring way. I loved that.As I approached him, his look started to change into a more serious face. "You are not going

Kiara's POVWhen I woke up this morning, the first thing I did was reach for my phone, and my thoughts were already on the day ahead. Without wasting a moment, I texted Lana, asking her when were and where we planning to meet, eager to finalize my plans.Within minutes, Lana replied, suggesting we meet at 3 p.m. in front of my apartment- well, my old apartment, to be exact. She said that she had some plans for the evening, so she wanted to see me earlier. Once we were together, she said, we could figure out where to go from there. It felt strange, knowing I'd be waiting in front of a place that used to be mine until Tom came into my life, but I pushed the thought aside and focused on our upcoming plans.I made my way to Tom's office, ready to update him on the schedule. • Fated To Love You   Chapter 17

Kiara's POV After Tom's warning, I didn't feel particularly phased. I wasn't feeling up for an argument, so I opted to stay silent. I was aware that he was convinced I wouldn't heed his advice. It wasn't my intention to provoke his anger; I was acting based on my own frustration at the time.At the moment I was getting ready to settle in for the night, the sound of my phone ringing interrupted the quiet. When I glanced at the screen, I noticed that it was Lana calling. I finally answered the phone because we hadn't spoken in weeks and I felt like it was important to catch up."Hey, Lana. What's up?" I spoke. "Hi, Kiki!" Ever since we were children, she has affectionately referred to me by that nickname. It has always been her preferred way of addressing me. "I just wanted to check in with you to make sure everything is all right. It feels like it's been ages since I last heard from you.""Oh!" I was hesitant to share any details with her because I was afraid it would only lead to he
