Engagement Ceremony

The phone rang.

"🎶Imagine your face

Say hello to me

'Til all the bad days

They're nothing to me

With you🎶" (Winter bear by Kim Taehyung)

Min-Jae picked up the phone call simultaneously as he adjusted his Rolex watch on his wrist.

"yeoboseyo," Min-Jae mumbled and swirled his eyes which was filled with desperateness for someone.

An old woman retorted back from the other end of the phone.

"I don't have any time for the hellos.

Min-Jae made a revolted face as he strolled towards a quiet place.

When? Jin-Ae is departing from Korea?" A cunning voice implored.

Min-Jae paused a little, then responded, "She'll be leaving in 3 days."

She sighed dramatically and asserted, "Oh My God! You're so slow. I should have asked someone else." She ridiculed him, considering that Min-Jae could sense her smirking evilly on the other end.

Moreover, I heard you're proposing to her?" Min-Jae was about to whisper something when she cut him off and shrieked, "Oh boy, you're in love with that loser? Boo, we don't have much time.

HURRY!

Furthermore, make sure she doesn't get in contact with Woojin at any cost. I don't care if you marry or dump her. Hahahaha, but merely till the moment she's out of our sight."

"Yes ma'am" That was all that Min-Jae could let out and disconnected the call in weariness.

He couldn't do anything.

He yanked his phone and ambled back and forth in worry, with frustration and stress as anxiety slithered to him pulling him down into the subtle dark quarrel he always gets caught into.

He was now exasperated and depleted from lying and following around the aimless and awful edicts.

Min-Jae browsed the location of the car as he sighed drastically.

Soon, some fresh air danced down into his body, when flashbacks started making him feel guilty. The fresh air was now intoxicated with sad color of broken heart and grief.

He felt bad, for lying to Jin-Ae, for caching from her and keeping her in darkness.

He cried at nights looking for answers on his pillow that nuzzled him in its warmth.

He was hauled into this, and in the view of the fact, he never wanted to let his guard go down again. But somehow, he got stuck nevertheless, luckily he found Jin-Ae.

He agreed to everything, solely for the sake of his business prestige.

Jin-Ae's mother threatened him into killing Jin-Ae, an innocent in the war and ruining the poor employee's families as to how he'll regret saying no to her.

Just to save his hotel from enduring, he agreed.

He was notified that Jin-Ae was as pretentious as her sister and that she was brutal and impertinent.

So he then, speculated that she must be the same as Jin-Ae's sister Choi Rosê, a gold digger.

However over time, when he got to know Jin-Ae, her intentions, what she likes and what not and how kind soul she is which was now cold, a little bit damaged howbeit she was still pretty inside and out which made him fell in love with her.

Who wouldn't? She was a hurricane, a cascade that would gleam with rumble and lightning, so violent and bitter but delicate at the same time.

He felt sorry for Jin-Ae. Sorry for everything he did that might sequel in diminishing the glint on her face, vanishing the cute profound dimples someday.

He couldn't do it anymore, to walk around with "as if I care" look that somehow festoon his handsome face.

He then, gave up and determined to ask Jin-Ae to be his. For FOREVER.

He wanted to confess his love but the lies hid behind their relationship agonized him everyday, he tried his best, all the things he did for her so that she can think about it and then decide further if she wants to be with him or not, as girls really do sense what is great and what is not.

However, he was confused and scared.

Scared of losing Jin-Ae but wasn't that what he deserves but what more was brandishing him back was the responsibility to shield her, protect her and help her live a life she deserves.

He didn't want her mother to make her suffer anymore like the way he grieved in the yore.

This proposal was ethical and honest.

He was overly pleased with the fact that he met Jin-Ae, his soulmate. A soulmate that God has for everyone that will withstand both the tremendous euphoria and most miserable setbacks of life with them.

He wanted to be there for her, he wished for her to accept his love and allow him to stay by her side as he watches her grow into a more beautiful pretty lady than she was now.

Nothing soothed him more than the fact that in a few seconds, they both would be a couple "if Jin-Ae felt the same about him."

He convinced himself that when things will settle down, he'll confess the truth and apologize to her with all his heart, illustrating to her about how he was forced and had no other options, he did this to safeguard the poor employers in his hotel, the thrift of the city and the aftereffects of downfall.

A cold waft of air made Min-Jae came out of his guilty self. He started to look around to verify if everything is complete and beautiful or not.

He was uneasy about how she will react to this. He kept glazing at his watch noting the time.

His fingers crossed as he prowled here and there setting everything up again to avoid any sort of uncertainty building up in his mind.

*Engagement Ceremony of Choi Rosê and Woojin.*

Fairy lights glistened as it does in the movies, so Hollywood and magnificent; rumba orange with a mix of perky peach theme added a vintage whiff to the decoration whereas candles on the tables, white curtains, green bales on the top, and the brisk breeze from the sea made the evening more benign and glorious.

The ceremony was about to start. Men were busy in their business and political talks while women were gossiping.

Rosê wore a crepe pink lacy dress with blush pink flowers on it.

It was a long neckline ball gown, elegant and pretty. She had a heavy pink makeup which amplified a finishing glimmer to her wild ambience.

Whereas, her Mom prettied herself with a fluffy, velvet, black dress with a hat on her head. It was her signature dress that just varied from designs and style.

Woojin was an anomaly. He looked ethereal and a gentleman like he was. He had a black suit on which was formulated in a way to highlight his physique amazingly.

His mochi skin was glowing as his plump pink lips made him look so celestial.

As if greyish golden hair with puppy eyes wasn't enough to let the dead flowers blossom he added a tie that completed the look and small silver earrings that give off an aesthetic yet striking vibes. He attired as the ideal husband material, any girl looked up for.

The old woman scampered towards Rosê and muttered in her ear. "Min-Jae is proposing tonight and she will be leaving Korea this weekend." A little frown appeared on her face.

The old woman adjusted her hat and baby cheered in festivity, not to captivate any sceptical glances towards her.

Rosê gave a last disgusted look to her mom as she turned to Woojin clasping her long frock with her long curvy fingers.

Woojin on the other side was zoned out. "Jagiyaaa! Is everything okay?" Rosê whined as she held his arm and jostled it back and forth like a little kid would do when they want candies.

Woojin narrowly moved so her hand wouldn't touch him anymore.

He was stressed out and anxious. Why doesn't this feel right?

Rosê felt a lot distinct from the one he spent that night with.

He was slowly getting lost in his murky hazes of questions.

"I can't understand anything. Was that night an illusion? Rosê isn't pregnant yet? It's impossible" Woojin thought as he scarcely smiled at Namjoon, trying his best to not make his friends fret.

Even if all these thoughts weren't enough, that scent, the soft hands with a fairy bracelet on the wrist, the symmetrical lips, and long lashes were making him mystified.

He kept peeking at Rosê to ascertain the beautiful glimpses of that night but wide down his heart was wailing, for someone to hush him down and tell him, that it's okay.

"She doesn't have any of these," He thought.

"Do you need some water?" The old woman inquired as she came closer to Woojin. Woojin forthwith giggled and whispered a no, trying his best to conceal the oddness.

He couldn't figure out where the problem was. "Was it a delusion or is something wrong? Am I living in two dimensions? Why is this so dramatic."

His heart was whipping, intonating the song of dreadful tulips and dingy roses. When, the old woman shuddered at the high tuned voice that echoed in the substantial pretty hall.

She acted cheesily and began to look innocent as she was comprehending some changes in Woojin's behaviour.

The announcement:

"Ladies and gentlemen, may I have your attention, please. The ceremony is about to start. Let's altogether wish my elder brother Park Woojin and Choi Rosê", announced Park JiHyun excitedly.

Everyone's attention was on Woojin and Jin-Ae's sister Rosê. The crowd started clapping whilst Woojin's friends were making noises to cheer him up.

Rosê got a little closer to Woojin and held his arms tightly, putting on a baby smile while Woojin was compressed with a worried look on his face.

The old woman gazed at Rosê to which she noticed that Woojin was not smiling and the crowd was noticing it. She instantly held his hand tighter.

Woojin felt a slight pain in his right hand which heaved him out of his thoughts back to the verity; where the crowd was applauding for his big day, and his friends were cheering and praising him.

Namjoon kept noticing that Woojin wasn't happy but he shrugged it off thinking he might be anxious for a new life ahead.

"The rings are here", said Namjoon as he came forward with two boxes covered with a grimy red silk cloth.

Woojin looked at Namjoon with sad eyes.

Sad eyes. People say that eyes are the mirror to an individual's soul. Either it's the sobs for help or admiration and contentment, all of them lay in the eyes. But no one could read them at the moment.

On the other hand, Rosê jumped up and down in excitement. The old woman signalled Rosê to stand upright and get herself together meanwhile, Namjoon raised his eyebrows to which Woojin was about to tell him something when Park JiHyun interrupted them.

"No more talking Hyung. Everyone is waiting."

Woojin stared at the crowd and took out the ring from the box. He peeked at it for a while and rolled it on her finger.

Rosê was joyous and smiling ear to ear. It was now Rosê turn to put on a ring on his tiny small fingers.

Woojin wasn't ready, his heart thudded loudly, his hands trembled as he looked at Namjoon with soft eyes. Namjoon noticed it but couldn't do anything because of the huge crowd around them.

Rosê took out the ring and quickly put it on Woojin's small finger.

Meanwhile, Rosê was wowing over how small Woojin's hand is. This catches his interest.

Even after spending a luscious night with him, how come she never recalled his small hand even though that night, they held hands for the lengthiest time as if their lives depended on them...
