Few Weeks Back

"You can't do this to me, we have been together for years, you can't leave me, not now, not ever!" Elena screamed as tears rolled down her cheeks

her pajamas were soaked in blood from the previous night's beating, David had given her a dose of the usual treatment, one that he used anytime she dared to challenge him

"aren't you tired of suffering, I'm relieving you of your suffering my dear, Elena, you deserve a better man and I clearly hate your existence, it makes me cringe to see your face in the morning," David said with disgust as he slowly rubbed her hair

he could sense the fear in her eyes as she shook silently, he had become her worst nightmare but Elena wasn't ready to let him go. She was deeply in love with a beast like David,

"I still love you, I don't care if you hurt me every single day, I don't care if you say I'm nothing more than a curse in your life. I will always be with you in life and death, I love you to the moon and back, David" she confessed, holding his shirt and crying on his chest

He silently clenched his fist as his face grew sour, the hatred he had for Elena couldn't be measured. He was consumed by it

"get off me or I will break your bones, take your things, and leave my house while you can, I'm already preparing to welcome another woman into my life. One that I will love with all my heart"

"Never!, I would rather die than watch you break our relationship, I won't be alive and watch another woman take you from me" she screamed,

David slapped her hard until she spat out and her saliva was mixed with blood.

"I won't repeat myself, Elena, take some clothes and leave while you can or you will regret ever being born. In two weeks, I will be happily married to the woman I love and you can't stop me" he revealed and lit up his cigar

he was a hardcore smoker and an alcoholic with the heart of a demon. Elena breathed heavily and tried to regain her balance, she hadn't eaten for days and her strength was nothing more than a miracle

"over my dead body will you ever get married to her!" she screamed with all her strength

David paused, his eyes turned red and he took a deep breath like a warrior ready for a fight,

"then say your last prayers, bitch!" he revealed and raced toward Elena, throwing her off balance and landing several punches on her tender face

She fell hard and felt a surge of electricity passing through her veins as she gasped and passed out immediately.

Present Day

Elena slowly opened her eyes but felt a sharp pain in my chest, she struggled to sit on her butt but was taken aback by the environment she found herself in.

"where the hell is this?" she asked as her eyes rolled, this wasn't her room for sure, she noticed the large monitor screens that showed her health stats

"You're awake," a tender voice exclaimed

it was the nurse who checked her vitals, she rushed out to get the doctor while Elena stared in shock, confused and unsure of what happened to her

"It's a miracle you're still alive, people with fewer issues like this often then to die on the spot but you survived, it's nothing short of a miracle" the doctor revealed and a smile grew on his face

Elena had her eyes on him and the beautiful nurses who were by his sides. Her eyes could hardly comprehend her current situation.

"where's he?" was the second question she asked as she shook with fear

"you need rest, you were rushed here a few days back and your body hasn't healed, you sustained severe injuries to the head and some of your ribs got damaged" the doctor revealed, expressing his undying concern for her wavy health

"I need to see him, he's going to marry her, I can't let that happen" she muttered

she jumped out of the bed and pulled out the syringe injected into her veins, her hand was covered in her blood but she dashed for the door, wearing nothing but a patient's robe. The security tried to hold them down like a fugitive, but she was smart enough to grab a gun from an officer

"Stay back, I don't want to hurt any of you, please!" she begged, her eyes turned red, and her hand bled slowly

"You need help. Please just drop the gun, and let's talk," the chief security guard suggested

Elena shot one of the officers in the leg and made a run for it, she stopped a taxi and got in before they rushed out of the gates. She had zoomed off without any knowledge of where she was heading

"Take me to the Royal banquet hall," she ordered the taxi driver who kept staring at his rear mirror in shock. Her hair was rough, and her clothes were stained with her blood.

she smelled bad, but that was the least of her worries as she stared out the window, thinking about everything that David mentioned before she passed out. On arriving at the venue, she ran out without paying the taxi man who screamed at the top of his lungs for his pay, the bouncers held her down but she fought and spat into the eyes of one.

She screamed like a lunatic, attracting attention and causing chaos. She flung the doors open, and everyone paused to get a glimpse of the unknown presence that got in. David glared at her with anger in his heart, he ordered the bouncers to set her free and slowly walked with pride.

The guests murmured, and they were more than shocked to see her after years of being in the dark, David kept her hidden from the world who presumed her dead.

"Isn't she supposed to be dead?" a guest asked with confidence

Her presence came with a different aura that gave David goosebumps, he was sick of her face and wanted her dead. His bride walked to him and held his hand with fear, "who is she?" she whispered into his ears

"After everything, after all the sacrifices I made for you, is this how you repay me!" Elena screamed, breaking the silence as different eyes preyed on her skin

her patient's robe was deeply stained with her blood, and her eyes showed nothing but fear as she struggled to maintain her stance. Her strength was slowly fading away, but David smiled on noticing this.

"David, you told everyone your wife was dead and buried, how did she wake up from the grave?" another guest asked, stirring an atmosphere of doubt. He could feel the heat of her presence, and without thinking, he revealed

"I thought the same too my esteemed friends and guests, you can see she's in a hospital robe, I have no idea how she woke up from the morgue but this woman has tortured me all my life, I was only lucky to escape her evil cage after she attacked me, i fought in self defense and ran until I nearly lost my breath, the cops came to my house and they revealed she ended her life after I ran."

Everyone gasped in shock, Elena couldn't believe her ears, she felt heartbroken, more broken than she had ever been. She fell to the ground and wept bitterly as the world turned their backs against her

"Get rid of her, we have a wedding to continue, the priest is waiting," David's wife ordered with a loud voice

"David, why?" was the last question Elena asked before the bodyguards dragged her off the hall like a corpse

she was thrown to the streets with her hospital robe badly torn, exposing her nakedness, she felt life slowly escaping through her bleeding arm and broken heart. She cried for help but everyone watched until her vision went foggy, she passed out and appeared dead until a black Rolls Royce Cullinan stopped before her lifeless body.

"Who is that?" a man dressed in a black Italian suit asked, he was well seated in the passenger's compartment of his Rolls Royce Cullinan

"it's just some random chick lying lifeless on the road, you shouldn't bother yourself with such trifling matters, My Lord" his bodyguard who sat behind the wheels replied

"get her in at once" his husky voice ordered with authority

"Sir, you can't be moved by such a chick, the cops will take care of her, your meeting with the investors is far more important" the bodyguard protested

"get her in now, she's the ultimate key to everything" the rich Mogul ordered as a smile grew on his face.

"no, my lord, let her embrace her fate!" his bodyguard defended
