chapter 13: just couldn't control it

Fury flashed through his eyes and my heart raced in my chest in panic. He looked so scary and I felt my skin tingling.

I moved backward with my but and palms, my wavering gaze fixed on his angry face. He acts like he will pounce on me and devour me any moment from now.

My heart rose and fell in rhythm, and my hair splattered on my face. I only told him I can't stop having coffee. Was that why he looked so pissed off?

I couldn't decipher what I've said wrong or done wrong but what I know is that I needed to run. Run from this suffocating room. His gaze alone was squeezing the life out of me.

" Wh.." I tried to speak but my voice failed me. What was I even going to say, that I will stop having coffee?

" You can't stop it because he reminds you of him?" He asked, his voice filled with resentment and a wicked smile on his face.

Yes, it reminds me of him but I just can't stop having coffee because I don't want to have any thoughts of him. I can forget about him without stopping for coffee.
