Ethan sat up on his bed, all by himself inside his room. He reclined back on the bed. He does not really seem to be at his best. He shivered and groaned. "You shouldn't have been here, Roy, have you come to disgrace me again." He stood up and tarried around his room.
He reflected back to his past. He had known Roy since when he was very young. They were trained and they both had the best Royal guard as their master. They were best friends of different packs and loved being together.
"Father, I want to visit the Blackpool Pack," He remembered telling that to his father. He was only nine years and few weeks when he made that request and that was before Priya was even adopted.
Their relationship started to hang by a thread when they first had their tournament. They both won till they got to the final stage where they must fight with themselves. That was an inevitable scenario as only a winner would be granted the reward.
Roy was only a year older than Ethan. Roy eventually won the tournament and that caused Ethan a lot of trouble. He was scolded and punished by Alpha Luke who had prepared him with lots of vigorous exercise.
"Father, I can't beat him, he's just too strong to overpower." He claimed, trying to explain to furious Alpha Luke. Luke made him understand that there's no friends as long as they are from different packs. But the Blackpool Pack had dominated all other packs from the very beginning and probably that's why he felt envious of them.
Ethan since then had gotten fierce, never scared. The second fight he had with Roy was at the trials seven years after the first tournament. He fought Roy with a killer instinct and almost won, But Roy, who had some special ability, improvised and defeated him.
"What happened, Ethan, I don't understand the way you fought with me." He whispered to Ethan laying on the floor in front of the crowd. Ethan felt ashamed of himself being defeated in his own clan. He looked at Roy with deep hatred and walked away with head facing the ground.
Seeing Roy again made him remember all that happened between them. "You'll have to fight him at the trial," His wolf said, as his eyes transited into a yellow colour.
"I know, you don't have to tell me," "I'm not sure we're strong enough to win, and that's not going to be good, not in front of Cara." He muttered.
Ethan gave deep thoughts about what his wolf told him. He knew that if he should lose to Roy this time around, Luke might see him as a coward. The second time that happened he was downcast because his father didn't look at him for weeks before they later got back together.
Seeing the look on Luke's face while talking to Roy made him feel restless. He knew his father was proud of Roy due to the way he commended him.
He opened his door to move out but was startled seeing Roy in front of his door about to knock. "Just passing, so u decided to stop by," Roy still, could recollect every crook and corner of the Shadowwhite pack since he visited the place countless times when he was very young.
Ethan glared at him without a word.
It's been five years, since we've seen each other, Ethan" Roy said, smiling
``Are you trying to make fun of me with your smile?" He thought to himself. "I heard them screaming your name... Many of them have not forgotten you," He sighed.
Roy could remember the look that was on Ethan's face that day. He knew Ethan wasn't happy about being defeated in his own pack. "You haven't gotten over what happened, right." He questioned.
Ethan gave a fake chuckle and inhaled deeply, "You don't have to worry about me, you stopped worrying since you discovered her, nevertheless, she wasn't even in your pack... that's why you won after making plans, of me defeating you."
"Don't talk about her, Ethan," "Oh, what's her name again, Caroline, right." He shrugged
"Because of her, you had to break what we had, friendship." " You love her, don't you but she didn't choose you, she didn't love you, because she wasn't your mate." He retorted,
Ethan drove into silence, biting his teeth together. Caroline has been part of the Shadowwhite pack since she was little. She was just one of the maidservants. Ethan got eyes on her and tried to get close to her but she didn't give him any consent.
On one faithful day, Roy got to know he was her mate a few days to the trials the first time he set his on her. He was just sixteen then and he already had his wolf. They became close but Caroline didn't know he was her mate because she didn't have her wolf yet, but still likes him.
Ethan became jealous, seeing them both together. Roy wanted to do anything he could for Caroline and promised her that he would take her back to his own pack, Probably, that's the reason why Roy couldn't lose to Ethan during the trial, even though he promised him he would intentionally lose to him.
"How about her, where's she?" He asked
"She died on the way, we were attacked, she could not survive the hit." He said, feeling regretful for not keeping his promise to her.
Ethan became angry, he punched the wall with, applying more force. "You killed her, Roy... if only you listened to me, she would still be alive." He muttered
"Listened to you, and then what remained here, working and suffering." He said with fury in his eyes.
Ethan turned his back against him and smiled. He walked a little bit, a distance apart from him. "I guess we have something in common." He shrugged
"You meant to say, your mate is dead." He asked and giggled, silently. "No, not dead but lost." He replied
Roy looked around his room, it was different from the way it used to be in the past when he was little. The walls were plastered with hairs of his wolf. He did that himself whenever he seemed fit.
"Caroline didn't die, she was killed and I'll never stop till I get the culprit." Ethan chuckled, hearing his words. "How are you going to get... whosoever that killed her, huh." He questioned, moving closer to him. Roy did not bother himself, giving him an answer. He opened the door about to get out but was startled at the statement of Ethan. "I haven't forgotten what you did, the pain you caused me," He growled.
Roy walked away like he didn't hear him.
****************************
Priya heard about Roy's arrival. She had once seen Roy after being adopted. She knew Roy to be the handsome kind of guy. A blonde haired guy with curly hair and broad chest.
She thought about him, though it's been a while since he has seen him which means his looks might have changed. " He would be more attractive, I guess." She thought about Ethan, he still craved for Ethan's attention but it seemed she's not going to get what she wants anytime soon.
Priya was almost eighteen and it didn't seem like she was going to meet her mate. She had no scent of anyone, but she loved Ethan and concluded that he must be the one for her.
Now that Roy is around, hearing his name being mentioned all over the clan was so intriguing. Anyone could fall for a guy like that, being the topic of the day. "Maybe I should go see him." She whimpered, smiling and looking at her appearance in the mirror.
She opened the door of her room and stepped outside. She stood on a spot with her head bowed, wondering what she could do. She looked up and sighted Roy coming from Ethan's residence. She fluttered, feeling nervous. "Is this Roy, oh my God, he's changed." She exclaimed
She threw her hand back and forth as she waited for Roy to get to her spot. "Are you not Priya, the one who congratulated me on winning the trial," He chuckled.
"Yeah, that's me." She said, smiling.
She suddenly jumped on Roy and hugged him, placing her arms around his waist. He looked up at his face, since Roy is a little bit taller than her. She winked expecting Roy to grasp what she meant by doing that. Roy did not move either but threw his arms down. He soon held her by her shoulder, making her stand on her own without having to lean on him.
"What did you do that for?" Priya asked, feeling sad.
"Do I look like the one you're looking for?" He said softly. Priya understood what he meant. He knew Roy was not going to give him any attention in the first place. All she ever wanted was for someone to love her. She has always said that she would do anything to get her love.
Roy patted her by the hair and smiled at her. 'you are not that bad, Roy, how I wished I could be yours, the one I love does not really see me anymore... I hope you're going to see me, maybe not now but definitely.' She thought within herself and watched Roy until she lost sight of him. He was going to Alpha Luke residence
"Ouchhhhhhh," She screamed, as she bumped into someone the moment she moved around her body towards another path. She looked up only to see Cara. Cara was going to Alpha Luke residence to deliver some important information.
"Your fault, not mine, you were not watching." She said without being remorseful. Priya had always wished she could be endowed with some authority all because of Cara.
Priya fixed her eyes on her and watched her walk away.
Roy bowed his head before Alpha Luke and greeted him. Luke stood up from where he sat and walked up to him, lifting up his head with both of his hands. He smiled to his face and soon placed his arms around his shoulder. He was fond of Roy since when he was little. He admired his strength and confidence to win."How's Michael?" He asked"Is in the good hands of my mother." He repliedMicheal was the father of Prince Roy and the Alpha of the Blackpool Pack. He was loved by everyone and had lots of acolytes, probably that made him to rule over all other packs in his territory. Mated to Zoe made him stronger. Since Zoe was from another pack, their pack had to come together as one and this made them the most populated pack."Micheal and I had once fought together at the trial." He admitted and continued as Roy glared at him in amusement. His father never talked about his friends, though they had a thing, he was never that close to his father. "And how was that, when?" He questioned, wantin
One could hear cheers grow louder such that it filled the air. Shouting and dancing to the tune of the music played filled the entire ground. Everyone in the Shadow white pack including the slaves were gathered in the name of the welcome ceremony that everyone had been anticipating for.Laurel and Cara hurried to the ground where the ceremony was to be held. They had been fitted into their best clothes. Cara's face, even the shape of her body, looked different with the dress she wore. All the werewolves of the pack after dancing and drinking were gathered in the square and lined up to welcome Prince Roy. Cara could tell by the expression and attitude of everyone how eager they were to see and meet the Lycan prince."why is everyone acting this way, Kinda seemed like he had an history in this place, they all seem to know him," She talked all by herself"Laurel, Laurel," She called out to her. Laurel who was already into dancing, holding a cup of drink in her hand, staggered as she wal
Cara felt a little bit dizzy, her eyes looked blurry as she faded, unable to see clearly the faces of those that captured her. She had just woken up after being hit by one of the wolves. The impact of the blow made her weak. She struggled with her tied hands. Her hands had been tied with a thick rope behind her lower back. She wanted to scream but her mouth had been restricted from doing that as it had been sealed with a thick cloth of wool. She could hear the jesting and crackling of the werewolves, laughing with a sense of accomplishment. "Here she is, we've gotten her... who is going to go first." She heard one of them questioning the others. She had been dragged to a corner where no one could scout through and since it was already late in the night. Cara knew that she hadn't been captured because of wandering around the Royal residence, for, if it was so, she would be kneeling in front of Alpha Luke at the moment, bombarded with a lot of questions. What baffled her was she also di
Priya folded her arms moving unsteadily from one spot to another in her room. It was almost dawn and the birds were already chirping over the buildings of the silent clan. She peeped outside from the slightly opened window to see whether anyone was coming. "They should be back by now, have they gone somewhere else," She tilted her head sideways, trying to answer her questions. She sat on the couch feeling restless. She spotted Cara pendant on the floor. She gazed at it and looked away as she felt less concerned about that at the moment.``She had her wolf right, what if she defeated them.` She made a series of irregular movements with her head. "No, no, you can't think like that." She advised herself and picked up the pendant on the floor. She seemed to have seen the pendant before from somewhere or maybe what she thought. Since the day she was given the pendant as compensation for her lost chain, she didn't check it out, probably because to her, it was just some useless pendant and
Roy stared at her after placing her on his bed. He gazed at her wounds, how deep they were. "You're no ordinary girl, you are more than just a mere slave." He whispered. Cara lay still on his bed, still unconscious. The day was almost getting brightened but still slightly darkened. The wolves had started parading around while slaves that were meant to clean the entire pack have began with their daily routine. He picked up a white cloth and deepmed it inside a bowl of water. He rubbed her wounds gently to clean off the stains of blood off her nostrils and shoulder."What is this tattoo... This is a symbol... could it be a symbol of where you were born." He pondered as he was overwhelmed by this questions.``You're the one, I saw in my dreams, you fought the way you did with those Omegas.` He ruminated.Cara wounds began to heal slowly, Roy smiled, glaring at her face. Cara opened her eyes all of a sudden, panting and trying to get up on her feet. "You have to lay still, your wounds are
"Cara, Cara...." Laurel felt worried as she called out to her. She woke up to the sound of the whistle blown and could not find Cara by her side. Since they were used to going out and working together. "Where could she have gone to, this early morning." She stood up from where she laid and searched outside the room. The rest of the slaves were already on their way to the field and the punishment for getting late to the field required twelve lashes of rod. She started walking all by herself hoping that Cara would join her soon enough before the guards knew anything about her missing, but that does not change the actuality of her being in a frenzy state about what might had happened to Cara. "Have something happened again between her and Priya... Maybe she was called by Alpha Luke." She pondered not knowing what to believe."Laurel, Laurel." She looked back, hearing her name being called from behind. She already knew it was Cara since they've been together for sometime now and with no
Priya followed behind the guards that hauled Cara and Laurel across the pack. Her neck still bleeding as she could not heal herself following the actuality that she didn't have her wolf. She ran to her room the moment they passed in front of her residence, leaving the guards alone with Cara and Laurel on their way to Alpha Luke residence. Eyes were all on them as they dragged them across the slaves and the citizen of the pack. She closed the door on entering inside her room. "What was that, it was like a flash of memories." She muttered, feeling uneasy. She had always struggled remembering things from her past but this sudden flash of memories she recollected when Cara stiffed her neck was redoubtable. She remembered her father very well, including her mother but she never knew how her Father died. Alpha Luke was the one who gave her the news of her father's death who died alongside him in a war with another pack.He shared stories of how His father, Henry gave his life for the sake
Laurel POV...It was a very long time ago, I could still vividly remember the colour of the sun whenever it arises every morning. I made it a daily routine to wake up before the sun rises. In order to see this view I called it beautiful to such an extent that my mother made it a habit to wake me up whenever I slept. She knew what was best for me and would do anything to make me feel good. The view point from where I used to live allowed its serenity to be so beautiful. The chirping sound of the birds that flew over the sky and from one tree to another. It was so peaceful and beautiful.I missed her so much, I'm actually talking about my mother. We lived a complicated life from other packs. My father actually blamed me for that. He was once part of the most important member of a pack. I was very young then but I could still recall how the symbol was. It wasn't that big a pack and they don't really have that big enough residing place to shelter everyone. It was told to me by my mother.
