Roy bowed his head before Alpha Luke and greeted him. Luke stood up from where he sat and walked up to him, lifting up his head with both of his hands. He smiled to his face and soon placed his arms around his shoulder. He was fond of Roy since when he was little. He admired his strength and confidence to win.
"How's Michael?" He asked
"Is in the good hands of my mother." He replied
Micheal was the father of Prince Roy and the Alpha of the Blackpool Pack. He was loved by everyone and had lots of acolytes, probably that made him to rule over all other packs in his territory. Mated to Zoe made him stronger. Since Zoe was from another pack, their pack had to come together as one and this made them the most populated pack.
"Micheal and I had once fought together at the trial." He admitted and continued as Roy glared at him in amusement. His father never talked about his friends, though they had a thing, he was never that close to his father. "And how was that, when?" He questioned, wanting to hear from him.
Luke chuckled and sat down. Roy sat beside him as he spoke. "I was once an ordinary guard in this pack, you know how it was, I have no Alpha bloodline but the Alpha was fond of me, as I protected him with my life... He never bore a son nor a daughter, that hurts him." He sighed and Roy listened as he continued with his story
"It was a week to the full moon, when I asked him if I could take part in the trial to show him what I was truly made of, though, I never had any other intention, I just felt like I could be recognized." He inhaled and cleaned his face with his palm.
"He granted my request, and even trained me with his years of experience in battles... I saw him as my master and teacher... About your father, I didn't know him at that time, nor did he know me." He shrugged.
"The tournament began and we both got to the last stage... I saw him one day training alone by himself, I knew it would be hard to defeat him... I couldn't beat him," He paused. "But you won, how was that possible?" Roy asked
"He wanted me to win, so he didn't fight the way he used to... That was how I won... And that was how the Alpha saw a potential in me, All thanks to your father." He said, smiling.
"I asked him after the fight why he did that... He said, ``It's because of my determination to win, besides, he was a prince and I was just a guard seeking for recognition." He stopped talking and looked Roy in the eyes. "You took after your father, I could see that and that is why you won during your match with Ethan." He muttered
Roy didn't understand why he had to tell him all the story, he knew something was not right but waited patiently to hear the end of his story. "But, I mean, what are you driving at, why me and Ethan." He asked with his eyes fixed on him.
"I know you and Ethan would have to fight during the trial." He exhaled, with his eyes closed. Roy wandered about what he wanted to say as he stood up and migrated a little bit distant from him. He turned his back against him and said. "I know, it would be difficult for Ethan to win when he fights you, and that won't be so good, especially in this pack, they will see him as a weak future Alpha." He moved closer to Roy.
"You want me to do what your father did for you." He questioned, choosing his words slowly. He already understood why Luke had to narrate all the story to him. But yet, He wasn't sure if he was telling the truth, since Micheal had told him many stories in the past but not the one coming from Luke's mouth.
"Yeah, that's what I want you to do." He replied, with a soft voice. Roy kept silent as he didn't know what to say. He remembered what his father told him before coming over to the Shadow white pack clan, "Remember, you're the Prince and must take all the glory, being defeated is not an option." He mused for a while, feeling confused.
"I'm not forcing you, I'm just asking, if you could do that for my son." He said, seeing Roy still debating within himself. He knows he's asking too much from him but for the sake of Ethan's future and the pack, something has to be done.
"Just go rest, tonight is your welcoming night, after all you're everyone's talk." He advised and patted him on his back. Roy walked away slowly, looking back at Luke who already turned his back against him.
He walked out of the door only to bump into Cara. Cara had been standing at the door. She could not enter Inside until she was been ordered to. And due to Alpha Luke time with Roy in his residence, he had ordered his Royal guards not to let anyone in.
Cara tripped and almost fell due to the sudden push of Roy with his body while looking back. He rapidly caught her hand and drew her back to himself such that she hugged him. She felt his body rhythm as he hugged her. The warmth of his body was so comforting as he rested her head on his broad chest. She felt relaxed on his body. She felt like she knew him, feeling some kind of connection as her breathing rhymes with his.
Roy held her by the shoulder and thrust her body backward and gently. Roy being a little bit taller than her caused her to look at his face while Roy looked at her with his head slightly bent. Cara blinked her eyes the moment they made eye contact. Her lips were a little bit open. She wanted to move closer to him but couldn't do that. His eyes were so attractive, she could not take her eyes off them.
``I never thought I'd have someone else, I thought that's the end` Her mind raged with thoughts as she was surprised and excited at the same time. Roy looked expressionless, gazing at her. He was already lost as his hands were still on her shoulder.
Unaware of their surroundings, both of them could not hear the guard calling out to Cara trying to tell her that her attention was required by Alpha Luke. Roy, who already knew that Cara was her mate, displayed no obvious, facial aspect of feeling.
"Cara, Cara." The guard called out a second time, moved close to her and tapped her. She was startled all of a sudden. Roy grunted and threw his arms down from her shoulder. She bowed her head, tilting it sideways. Roy, at an instant, passed beside her and walked away.
"What happened, he must have felt something too, right." She grumbled, "Why then did he walk away... Or is he the second Ethan." She muttered
"He can't even apologize for bumping into me, how rude of him." She whacked her head and went inside Alpha Luke residence.
*************************
It was almost eventide and two days to the full moon at which the trial would commence. The welcome ceremony would begin at nightfall. Cara had been ordered by Alpha Luke to give details about their progress in preparation of the trial and was just out of Alpha Luke residence.
She walked slowly and randomly, thinking about the moment she had with Roy. ``He didn't even bother to know my name... I can't be the only one that felt that right.`` She inhaled and exhaled.
Her eyes shifted to its wolf colour as she conversed with her. "I'm glad it's Roy, he is a prince." Her she wolf exclaimed
"What difference does it make, what if he is no different from Ethan." "Don't say that, just hope he's not... we're going to need him, if we want to take revenge, remember."
She was about to talk when she sighted Priya standing and resting her back on the wall, feeling relaxed. She looked down as she walked closer to where she was to avoid making eye contact with her and probably to avoid being stopped by her because of what she might say.
"Were you sent to me, why have you always interfered with whomever I love." Priya said, pulling Cara's hair such that she screamed. She countered with another word before she could talk. "I saw you, that look on your face when you stared at him, was no ordinary. you fell for him already." She screamed with intense anger.
"Have you been stalking me, and why the hell, you have no right to pull my hair." She retorted
"I want to see the end of you, Cara, you've caused me pain since I knew you." She said and continued. "First, it was Ethan and now, Roy, you're such a whore."
Cara chuckled and bursted into intense laughter. "Am I, or you're indirectly talking about yourself, you wanted Ethan to love you, he didn't and now you're stalking Roy, I guessed, that's how you saw me." She exclaimed and sighed.
"I have nothing to do with Roy, he bumped into me, and that's all." She explained. She had to say something because she knew what Priya could do, Probably, lying against her to get her punished.
"I don't believe you, you're a bitch." She jumped on Cara, pushing her down to the ground. They both fell. Cara, who had already shifted to her wolf, thrust Priya against the wall and held her by the neck. "You're no match for me, remember." Cara said to her.
Priya suddenly bite her on her hand, causing Cara to scream. "Cara, Cara." She stopped, hearing her name being called by Ethan. She looked back and saw Ethan walking in haste towards her.
"What happened," He asked after seeing both of them fight from afar. Priya wanted to speak but he stopped her with the gesture of his hand. "Save me those sly tears of yours." He said to her, "And don't try to report to Father what happened here today." He added and turned to look at Cara.
"Are you hurt, your hands are bleeding." He made haste to grasp her hand. Cara looked him in the eyes. She didn't know what to say nor do as Ethan held on to her hand striving to show how much he cared. Priya could do nothing and just stared at the both of them, feeling left out.
``I already found him, I can't accept you again, Ethan`` She thought within herself, and withdrew her hand from his. She grunted and walked away from them.
"It's tonight, and after that, I'll be free from you." Priya whispered, silently.
One could hear cheers grow louder such that it filled the air. Shouting and dancing to the tune of the music played filled the entire ground. Everyone in the Shadow white pack including the slaves were gathered in the name of the welcome ceremony that everyone had been anticipating for.Laurel and Cara hurried to the ground where the ceremony was to be held. They had been fitted into their best clothes. Cara's face, even the shape of her body, looked different with the dress she wore. All the werewolves of the pack after dancing and drinking were gathered in the square and lined up to welcome Prince Roy. Cara could tell by the expression and attitude of everyone how eager they were to see and meet the Lycan prince."why is everyone acting this way, Kinda seemed like he had an history in this place, they all seem to know him," She talked all by herself"Laurel, Laurel," She called out to her. Laurel who was already into dancing, holding a cup of drink in her hand, staggered as she wal
Cara felt a little bit dizzy, her eyes looked blurry as she faded, unable to see clearly the faces of those that captured her. She had just woken up after being hit by one of the wolves. The impact of the blow made her weak. She struggled with her tied hands. Her hands had been tied with a thick rope behind her lower back. She wanted to scream but her mouth had been restricted from doing that as it had been sealed with a thick cloth of wool. She could hear the jesting and crackling of the werewolves, laughing with a sense of accomplishment. "Here she is, we've gotten her... who is going to go first." She heard one of them questioning the others. She had been dragged to a corner where no one could scout through and since it was already late in the night. Cara knew that she hadn't been captured because of wandering around the Royal residence, for, if it was so, she would be kneeling in front of Alpha Luke at the moment, bombarded with a lot of questions. What baffled her was she also di
Priya folded her arms moving unsteadily from one spot to another in her room. It was almost dawn and the birds were already chirping over the buildings of the silent clan. She peeped outside from the slightly opened window to see whether anyone was coming. "They should be back by now, have they gone somewhere else," She tilted her head sideways, trying to answer her questions. She sat on the couch feeling restless. She spotted Cara pendant on the floor. She gazed at it and looked away as she felt less concerned about that at the moment.``She had her wolf right, what if she defeated them.` She made a series of irregular movements with her head. "No, no, you can't think like that." She advised herself and picked up the pendant on the floor. She seemed to have seen the pendant before from somewhere or maybe what she thought. Since the day she was given the pendant as compensation for her lost chain, she didn't check it out, probably because to her, it was just some useless pendant and
Roy stared at her after placing her on his bed. He gazed at her wounds, how deep they were. "You're no ordinary girl, you are more than just a mere slave." He whispered. Cara lay still on his bed, still unconscious. The day was almost getting brightened but still slightly darkened. The wolves had started parading around while slaves that were meant to clean the entire pack have began with their daily routine. He picked up a white cloth and deepmed it inside a bowl of water. He rubbed her wounds gently to clean off the stains of blood off her nostrils and shoulder."What is this tattoo... This is a symbol... could it be a symbol of where you were born." He pondered as he was overwhelmed by this questions.``You're the one, I saw in my dreams, you fought the way you did with those Omegas.` He ruminated.Cara wounds began to heal slowly, Roy smiled, glaring at her face. Cara opened her eyes all of a sudden, panting and trying to get up on her feet. "You have to lay still, your wounds are
"Cara, Cara...." Laurel felt worried as she called out to her. She woke up to the sound of the whistle blown and could not find Cara by her side. Since they were used to going out and working together. "Where could she have gone to, this early morning." She stood up from where she laid and searched outside the room. The rest of the slaves were already on their way to the field and the punishment for getting late to the field required twelve lashes of rod. She started walking all by herself hoping that Cara would join her soon enough before the guards knew anything about her missing, but that does not change the actuality of her being in a frenzy state about what might had happened to Cara. "Have something happened again between her and Priya... Maybe she was called by Alpha Luke." She pondered not knowing what to believe."Laurel, Laurel." She looked back, hearing her name being called from behind. She already knew it was Cara since they've been together for sometime now and with no
Priya followed behind the guards that hauled Cara and Laurel across the pack. Her neck still bleeding as she could not heal herself following the actuality that she didn't have her wolf. She ran to her room the moment they passed in front of her residence, leaving the guards alone with Cara and Laurel on their way to Alpha Luke residence. Eyes were all on them as they dragged them across the slaves and the citizen of the pack. She closed the door on entering inside her room. "What was that, it was like a flash of memories." She muttered, feeling uneasy. She had always struggled remembering things from her past but this sudden flash of memories she recollected when Cara stiffed her neck was redoubtable. She remembered her father very well, including her mother but she never knew how her Father died. Alpha Luke was the one who gave her the news of her father's death who died alongside him in a war with another pack.He shared stories of how His father, Henry gave his life for the sake
Laurel POV...It was a very long time ago, I could still vividly remember the colour of the sun whenever it arises every morning. I made it a daily routine to wake up before the sun rises. In order to see this view I called it beautiful to such an extent that my mother made it a habit to wake me up whenever I slept. She knew what was best for me and would do anything to make me feel good. The view point from where I used to live allowed its serenity to be so beautiful. The chirping sound of the birds that flew over the sky and from one tree to another. It was so peaceful and beautiful.I missed her so much, I'm actually talking about my mother. We lived a complicated life from other packs. My father actually blamed me for that. He was once part of the most important member of a pack. I was very young then but I could still recall how the symbol was. It wasn't that big a pack and they don't really have that big enough residing place to shelter everyone. It was told to me by my mother.
Cara felt sorry for Laurel after hearing her story. Cara had a peaceful and blissful childhood, Her father being an Alpha and the Luna of her pack, she had no idea how one could be an outcast since when she was young, hated by everyone except for her mother and father and later sold as a slave. "I'm sorry Laurel, I had no idea how much you suffered." She said, cleaning the tears rolling down her eyes with her thumb. Laurel cried silently, unable to control herself."This can't be the end of us, we must somehow escape." She said, giving Laurel a sense of hope.Cara sighed and inhaled. She wanted to say something but stopped again. "You're thinking whether you should tell me about yourself or not." Laurel asked, already knew the answer to the question"How do you know... it seems like you have some special ability after all." She chuckled. She told her about herself, why she wanted to escape from the pack. Laurel said nothing, only smiled at her. She gave a smirk and leaned on the wall
