“It’s time love.”

“She’s still not awake yet Derek. I can’t leave her here alone.”

“I’ll stay with her.”

We both turn and see Aspen. He’s been gone for the last few days dealing with some business back in the elf realm. We weren’t sure if he was ever coming back.

“Aspen.”

“I’m sorry I was gone for so long. I’ll stay with Maliyah.”

Davina hugs Aspen, which seems to throw him off but he hugs her back. My mom already has the twins downstairs and Mark is directing to people to their seats. I think back to the last funeral we had. Maliyah and I had played a piece together and I miss doing that with her. I do wish she was awake so she could say goodbye to her sister.

“Where is Katerina,” asks Davina.

“She went to the fairy realm but she should’ve been back by now. She said she would be here for the funeral.”

“I’m worried about my parents, “ whispers River. “I feel like something is wrong.”
