Chapter 6

One by one, armored vehicles stopped at the entrance of the Vaughn Medical Center, making the Vaughn family guards even more tense.

It was a crucial night for Gerald's surgery, and they would not allow any disruptions.

Before the vehicles even came to a complete stop, Matthias leaped out and dashed toward the entrance.

All the guards were instantly angered when they saw Matthias' action.

"Stop right there! Who are you? Do you have a death wish?"

In St. Merilo, the Vaughn family held the highest authority.

Everyone was aware of Gerald's surgery scheduled for that night, and even those who usually opposed the Vaughn family kept their distance.

No one in their right mind would dare to cause trouble at the hospital on such an important night.

Yet, a convoy and a man had stormed the hospital entrance.

It was a blatant disregard for the Vaughn family's power!

However, Matthias could not care less about the guards.

His heart was set on rescuing his daughter.

"How dare you! Stop, or you'll die here tonight!"

The leader of the guards was enraged, and he quickly signaled for his men to form two lines blocking the entrance.

"Alpha!" Matthias shouted as he charged at the human barrier. "I want them dead!"

The guards blocking the entrance were no match to Matthias' force, and they were easily defeated.

The Vaughn family guards were furious.

If Matthias interrupted Gerald's surgery, they would not be able to atone for it.

Just as they were about to pursue Matthias, countless figures emerged from the vehicles outside the hospital.

In mere seconds, the black-clad Unbreakables surrounded the area.

Alpha stood at the forefront, his face twisted with anger, his voice husky as he shouted, "You heard the order! If any of these people survive the night, you will pay for your incompetents with your own lives!"

"Attack!" the Unbreakables shouted in unison, their presence immediately radiating lethal intent.

"W-Who are you? Do you understand the consequences of opposing the Vaughn family?"

The lead guard turned pale, staring in disbelief at the sea of black-clad warriors.

Alpha glanced at him but did not say anything.

With the glimmer of Alpha's sword, the guard's body collapsed to the ground in a swift motion.

The sounds of fierce combat erupted outside the hospital, and those in the operating room paled when they heard the commotion.

They were shocked, wondering who was so bold to cause trouble at the Vaughn Medical Center.

Those people had dug their own graves!

Gerald fumed, his face contorted with rage as he cursed, "Damn it! Who the hell has the guts to cause trouble tonight? They want to mess with me on the night of my surgery? They want their families to be wiped out?"

The lead surgeon, Milo Weinberg, cautiously said, "Mr. Vaughn, perhaps we should wait until it's quieter outside to begin the surgery."

Gerard snapped back, "Shut the hell up! We have over a hundred guards out there. You think those troublemakers can get in here?

"They're just causing a scene, ruining my mood. Even if they slip past the guards, you think they can enter the operating room?"

Gerald was unconcerned about the situation outside.

It was St. Merilo, and the Vaughns had absolute reign over it.

He doubted anyone would go against them.

Someone chuckled outside the door and said, "Don't worry, Mr. Vaughn. Focus on your surgery. With us guarding the operating room door, no one will disturb you."

Two middle-aged men stood at the entrance to the operating room, their demeanor calm and confident despite the sounds of battle outside.

They had fought alongside Horace to secure his supremacy, and their strength was formidable.

That minor disturbance was nothing more than a trivial hiccup to them.

Gerald laughed, satisfied.

Then, he glared and yelled at Milo, "Did you hear that? Hurry up and start the surgery!"

If not for Milo's expertise was needed for the surgery, Gerald would have broken the surgeon's leg for saying such cowardly words.

"Who are you? Stop right there!"

Suddenly, shouts from the guards interrupted the tense atmosphere.

However, a loud crash echoed through the hallway before they could finish their warning.

Immediately after, the operating room door shattered when a figure was thrown against it.

The intruder had kicked the person who had reassured Gerald earlier and sent him flying into the room.

Silence fell over the operating room.

Danielle's eyes filled with hope, looking eagerly at the broken door.

Her mother had told her that her father would rescue her, and she wondered if it were him.

Footsteps echoed as Matthias entered the operating room, dragging another figure behind him.

The two guards at the door had tried to stop him but had failed miserably.

"W-Who are you? What do you think you're doing? You killed them? Do you have any idea what you've done?"

Gerald's face turned deathly pale, his eyes wide with terror as he stared at Matthias.

He knew the strength of the Vaughn family guards, and to see them defeated so effortlessly filled him with dread!

"What do you think you're doing? You're provoking the Vaughn family! Do you even know who I am? My father is Horace Vaughn!"

"Shut up!" Matthias roared, his eyes focused solely on the little girl with big, blinking eyes lying on the hospital bed.

It was his daughter.

When he saw her, Matthias knew she was his child.

Matthias calmed down and slowly approached Danielle, his gaze softening with tenderness.

The operating room fell silent once again.

Gerald was so terrified by Matthias' sudden outburst that he dared not utter a single word, and everyone stared at the man who had suddenly burst in.

"Dani... Dani. You're Dani."

Matthias' voice was gentle, his eyes welling up with tears.

"I'm Matthias Lowell. I'm your father."

Danielle looked at Matthias, blinking her eyes as if trying to process his words.

The range of emotions she felt was too overwhelming for a child her age, and she began crying.

"Dani, don't cry. Dani, please don't cry."

With tears streaming down his face, Matthias clumsily tried to scoop her up, his heart heavy with guilt and regret.
