Chapter 7

Outside the operating room, Alpha and some of his men silently approached the door.

They watched Matthias, their formidable leader, cry as he comforted a little girl.

Their hearts ached.

Matthias was the leader of the Legion of the Unbreakable, a man feared by every force in the world, a warrior of iron will.

Yet, he showed such vulnerability, proving how deeply the event had affected him.

Matthias had led the Legion of the Unbreakable to victory in countless battles, maintaining peace and order.

However, his wife and daughter had suffered such horrendous abuse.

Alpha and his men felt an overwhelming sense of guilt, and tears streamed down their faces.

Their hearts were heavy with pain, but they knew it must have felt worse for Matthias.

Just as Matthias tried to lift Danielle, she cried out in pain, her body instinctively flinching.

Matthias carefully pulled back the blanket, revealing Danielle's arm, which he had accidentally touched.

It was covered in bruises, a mix of blue and red, and dotted with puncture wounds from needles.

The veins in Matthias' hand bulged as he fought to contain his rage, gently inspecting the rest of Danielle's body.

His eyes grew redder, and he gritted his teeth hard.

That was his daughter!

His precious daughter!

Yet, she was covered in wounds!

Matthias was filled with an overwhelming hatred and fury.

He hated himself for arriving too late and was enraged at those who had harmed Danielle.

Tears of anguish and anger streamed from Matthias' eyes as he glared at Gerald and the others in the operating room.

"What do you think you're doing? You should think twice about your next action! I'm the only son of the Vaughn family.

"If you don't want your people to be wiped out by my family, you better leave now. I can pretend that none of this has happened!"

Gerald's face was pale, and his voice trembled with fear under Matthias' gaze.

Matthias ignored Gerald.

He wrapped Danielle in a blanket and gently picked her up, saying, "It's okay, Dani. Don't be scared. I'm taking you home."

Danielle continued to cry, clinging tightly to Matthias' neck as if afraid he might disappear the next second.

Matthias slowly walked out of the operating room with Danielle in his arms.

Gerald had relaxed a bit when Matthias started to leave, and he could not hold back his panic when he saw Matthias taking Danielle.

He needed her heart for his surgery!

"Stop! Put that little bastard child down! Her heart is useful to me! If you don't want us to retaliate, leave her behind!"

Matthias abruptly turned around.

Danielle clutched him even tighter, trembling in fear.

She was terrified that Matthias would leave her there.

"No, please. I don't want to stay here." Danielle sobbed, her voice filled with terror.

Matthias gently patted Danielle's back and assured her, "Dani, don't worry. I'll never leave you or your mommy ever again."

Then, Matthias walked out.

However, as he passed Alpha, he whispered, "I want him alive!"

Alpha could sense the intense rage and murderous intent boiling within Matthias.

If Gerald was to be left alive, it meant everyone else would die!

Matthias carried Danielle away.

He wanted to kill the monsters in the operating room himself, but he did not want his beloved daughter to see that side of him on their first reunion.

Alpha and his men waited until Matthias' figure completely disappeared down the hallway before they entered the operating room.

All the suppressed anger and hatred in Alpha and his men erupted, and their murderous aura filled the room with fear.

"W-What are you doing? I'm the only son of the Vaughn family! If you kill me, you and your family members will die!"

Gerald's voice trembled as he sensed the imminent threat of death from Alpha and his men.

Alpha grinned, but his smile was menacing.

"Don't worry. Death is too easy for you."

Without waiting for Gerald's response, Alpha's face turned grim.

He immediately ordered his men, "Use the most brutal methods you can think of. I want these scumbags to know what true hell on earth is!"

"Yes, sir!"

That night, the screams from the operating room lasted until dawn.

Gerald witnessed the horrors inflicted on everyone in the room.

When he was finally dragged out, his eyes were vacant, his mind shattered by the terror he had seen.

Alpha said it was hell on earth, but to Gerald, what happened in that room was far worse!

When Matthias returned to the Whitney residence, Danielle was already asleep, and so was Leona.

Beta had brought the world's top medical team to treat Leona and Danielle's injuries.

After that was settled, Matthias went to the Whitney estate's main hall.

The remaining members of the Whitney family were kneeling in the front courtyard.

Their numbers were significantly reduced; some had succumbed to the torture and died.

The remaining Whitneys were filled with fear; they even envied those who had died, as death meant an end to their suffering.

Matthias sat at the head in the grand hall, with several Legion of the Unbreakable commanders standing by.

Russell and Brock stood awkwardly outside the hall.

When Russell saw Matthias' return, he wanted to apologize for what had happened in St. Merilo, but the latter ignored him completely. Matthias did not say a single word.

Russell could only manage a bitter smile, feeling guilty and ashamed.

He knew Matthias was filled with rage. He also knew he was lucky that Matthias did not strike him dead on the spot.

"Your Lordship! Please allow us to lead a strike against the Vaughn family. Her Ladyship and the princess have suffered such abuse; all the Unbreakables are eager to kill every last member of that wretched family!" Beta said, kneeling on one knee, his eyes bloodshot.

If he had not been waiting for Matthias' command, he would have already led an assault against the Vaughns!

"Your Lordship, let me go. My life belongs to you. Just give the word, and the Vaughn family will be wiped out from St. Merilo today!" Eta, another one of the Unbreakables, chimed in.

The hall was filled with the Unbreakables, all requesting to take action.

Their faces were marked with anger, and the air was thick with their killing intent.

Outside the hall, Russell's face was pale.

The Legion of the Unbreakable wanted to go to war, but Matthias remained silent.

It could only mean one thing—Matthias' anger was far greater than a simple desire for revenge.

He wanted something more than just wiping out the Vaughn family.

"The storm is coming," Russell murmured bitterly.

To provoke the leader of the Legion of the Unbreakable was to court death, and Matthias' rage was about to change the scene in St. Merilo!
