That night, the leaders of every major power and top-tier organization across the globe stayed awake, their hearts pounding as they watched the Legion of the Unbreakable's movement.

After all, Matthias suddenly left the battlefield with a murderous aura and mobilized the entire might of the Legion of the Unbreakable, his objective unknown!

Everyone was on edge.

The Legion of the Unbreakable's power was terrifying, so terrifying that it struck fear into everyone's hearts.

Only then did they realize the Legion of the Unbreakable had used just a fraction of their strength in their battle against the Night Force for the title of world's strongest!

What was Matthias planning?

Why were all of the Legion of the Unbreakable's forces in motion?

Who had provoked his wrath?

"Get to the bottom of this! Reach out to all our global informants and figure out what Lord Matthias is up to. Also, contact our allies within the Legion of the Unbreakable and ask what his intentions are."

"Sir, we're approaching New Avalbourne's airspace. Should we request permission to enter?"

Matthias frowned. "Of course. Inform them that I'm here to handle a personal matter."

"Yes, sir!"

At that moment, the headquarters of New Avalbourne were in a state of alarm.

They had just received the Legion of the Unbreakable's request to enter their airspace.

"What's going on? Can anyone tell me why the Legion of the Unbreakable is suddenly heading to our country?" Russell Bridges, the first commander of New Avalbourne's military, asked.

"Commander Bridges, we've detected the Legion of the Unbreakable's fleet, and they've sent an urgent message requesting entry," a pale-faced officer reported.

"What?" Russell was stunned but quickly stood up, glaring at the officer.

"Don't intercept them! Don't fire! Send a team to negotiate and find out their intentions!"

The Legion of the Unbreakable and New Avalbourne had always been allies, cooperating numerous times.

Moreover, Russell had even met Matthias; he was not someone to act irrationally.

Hence, that only fueled Russell's confusion.

What was all of that about?

"Commander Bridges, we have an urgent call from the Havenwood District. A Legion of the Unbreakable aircraft has landed in St. Merilo in Havenwood! They haven't shown any signs of hostility. Should we expel their forces?"

Russell stood up abruptly, looking at the reporting officer with urgency.

"St. Merilo, the small suburban area? Has Lord Matthias arrived as well?"

"Commander Bridges, the Legion of the Unbreakable has sealed off an area within a 500-kilometer radius. We're not sure if Lord Matthias himself has arrived," the officer replied, looking uneasy.

Russell's expression was complicated as he rubbed his forehead.

What was Matthias planning?

He descended upon St. Merilo with no signs of aggression, yet the entire Legion of the Unbreakable was gathered in New Avalbourne.

What was happening?

"Commander Bridges, should we expel them?" The officer hesitated to repeat the emergency request from the Havenwood District.

"Expel them? Is Brock out of his mind? Does he think his army can stand a chance against the Legion of the Unbreakable? Even if Brock threw everything at them, it would barely be a scratch!" Russell shouted.

Since the Legion of the Unbreakable was not looking for a fight, Russell thought it was best not to provoke them.

Did those idiots not think things through before asking him questions?

"Tell Brock to meet with them. Be respectful and find out what Lord Matthias wants. No, prepare the jet. I'll go myself!" Russell declared, rising to leave.

With the Legion of the Unbreakable causing such a commotion, he needed to discover firsthand what was happening.

Otherwise, the entire nation would be like a cat on hot bricks, consumed by anxiety!

It was freezing that night.

In Havenwood's St. Merilo, at the Whitney residence.

Leona's beautiful face was streaked with tears as she curled up in a small, dark basement room, trembling and sobbing.

What could she do?

She had no options left, so she called the number Matthias had left her.

However, she knew it was all wishful thinking.

After all, if Matthias were an unrivaled force globally, why would he willingly be the Whitney family's son-in-law?

Not only that, but he also endured two years of humiliation and her coldness!

Leona bitterly smiled, mocking herself for being so desperate that she had no other choice but to cling to that coward's promise.

Even so, she hoped his words were true.

Only then could Danielle be saved!

Suddenly, the iron door slammed open.

Leona looked up, quickly crawling on her knees toward the person.

"Jermaine, please, I beg you to save Dani. She's your niece! I know I'm in the wrong. If you save Dani, I'll obey the Whitney family and never resist your order!"

"Get away from me, you worthless bitch" Jermaine kicked Leona aside, his eyes filled with disdain.

"That bastard child is no niece of mine! Leona, don't forget your place. You're just a stray we took in. We're not related by blood; you're not one of us. You took advantage of Grandpa's affection for you and married that useless man.

"Do you know how much shame you brought to our family? Luckily, that loser was sensible and left in the end!

"Grandma wanted to sell you off for our family's benefits, but you went and had that bastard child. You're a disgrace!"

As if his words were not cruel enough, Jermaine spat at her, his voice dripping with contempt.

"Ugh! You're such a disgusting bitch!"

Leona curled in the corner, sobbing and muttering to herself, "Dani is not a bastard child... Dani is not a bastard child..."

Jermaine was irritated by the sight of her, and he tossed her a blanket.

"'Don't freeze to death! You should be thankful that your bastard child's heart perfectly matches Mr. Vaughn. Otherwise, you think we would've let you raise her? If her heart weren't ideal for Mr. Vaughn's body, she'd be dead by now!

"'For the next few days, behave yourself. Mr. Vaughn is allowing you to be his mistress once he's recovered since you're sacrificing your daughter. That's an honor for you! It's your chance to repay the Whitney family!"
