Quinn was genuinely speechless. What did he think of her?

Without saying anything, she unfastened his shirt buttons and removed his clothes. His wounds had reopened.

"It's fine. I can go to the hospital for a dressing change tomorrow."

Quinn had initially thought she would be indifferent, given that their relationship was purely a one-night stand.

If it weren't for protecting her and Ian, he could have escaped. He had risked everything to protect her.

Her heart wasn't made of steel. How could she not feel anything?

Noticing her lingering gaze on his back, Xavier pulled her into his embrace.

"Don't pity me, Quinn. My injuries are my own doing. They have nothing to do with you."

He didn't want her to feel guilty for his wounds. Everything was his own choice.

"Let's go to the hospital." Quinn cleared her throat before speaking.

"There's no need to go. I just accidentally aggravated the wound."
