Araminta was startled. Quinn had just kicked the leg of the chair clean off. If she had aimed that kick at her, would her leg be broken instead?

Not wanting to confront Quinn directly, Araminta quietly tried to slip out. But Quinn wasn’t about to let her go that easily. She stretched out her leg and blocked Araminta's path.

"Has the problem been solved? Are you just going to leave? Are you this irresponsible?"

Araminta glared at her. "Quinn, no matter what, I’m still your stepmother, your elder. Are you going to be so disrespectful to me?"

"Stepmother? I never acknowledged you as such! As for being disrespectful, that's just how I am."

With that, Quinn slapped Araminta hard across the face. It was a fierce, forceful blow that left Araminta in shock. She couldn’t believe Quinn had the nerve to hit her. Before she could react, Quinn landed another slap, just as hard.

Standing nearby, Luna felt a rush of satisfaction. Quinn never failed to impress her.
