Maurice's actions led Quinn to believe that all men were bad.

When he noticed that she was struggling to deal with her emotions, Xavier pulled her into his arms to silently offer her comfort.

Quinn tried to push him away, but he held her so tightly she couldn't escape.

She hit him, and Xavier let out a muffled groan of pain. His back was injured badly, and he couldn't handle the impact well.

At that moment, Lisa's voice grew sharper. "Quinny, what's that noise? Is there a man there?"

Quinn stopped resisting.

"No, Mom. There's no man," she lied. Her relationship with Xavier was purely physical. There was no need for Lisa to know about him.

"Mom, I'm tired. I want to go to bed now. You should rest too. I'll come pick you up soon."

Since returning, she had been so caught up with various issues that she hadn't had the chance to visit her grandparents. She wondered how they were doing.

"Mom, give the phone to the nurse. I'd like to speak with her for a moment."

"Okay."
