Chapter 5

Officer Lexi then remembered the pen drive which was left near the bodies of Mr. and Mrs. Winter. It was the only lead the had to catch the culprit but she hadn’t taken any action on that pen drive as her main focus was to prove Angelina innocent. She had listened to what was there in the pen drive and thought that maybe Angelina would be able to tell her whose voice it was.

"Hm I have this recording which I want you to listen and tell me whose voice it is. So here is the recording” said Officer Lexi while taking a pen drive which was kept on the table. She inserted the pen drive in the laptop and stared doing something on it. She turned the laptop so Angelina could see the screen.

A blank video started playing with a voice of a lady which Angelina immediately recognized. She was shocked as the normally warm and sweet was so cold and emotionless. But what shocked her most were the words which were said -"Hello Angelina! How are you? Anyways since you are listening to this video than my lovely brother-in-law and sister-in-law are dead. So how are you holding the death of my dearest brother-in-law and sister-in-law? You must be confused right who killed them and why did I record this message and left it there, its because I wanted you to know that I was the one who killed them. I hated them, everyone one of this family. So I killed them. Try to recognize me with my voice but till you reach me I would have already killed many people of your and my family and fled away where you would not be able to get me. Best of luck in finding me and saving the ones you love. Hope you are able to take care of Natasha."

After listening to the audio Angelina looked at the officer Lexi with tears in her eyes and said "This is the voice of my Aunt Ella, she is the wife of my father's brother. But where did you find it and is all that she has said true. If it's true then we need to go and look for my Aunt Rose. I hope she won't do anything to them."

"Aunt Rose? Who is she and why do you think Ella would go after them?" asked the officer Lexi. She was happy as this proved to be an important clue and using this pen drive they could prove that Angelina was in fact in no way associated with the murderer. They will also be able to find the real culprit soon as they only had to get the location of Ella. Which would later prove to be much difficult.

"Yes Aunt Rose. She is my father's only sister. My father has a younger brother and a sister. The one whose voice we heard now was of Ella Winter’s, she is my father’s sister-in-law. If she said she will kill her and my family then most probably she is aiming to kill Aunt Rose as well. I can only hope she wont do anything to Uncle Miles, he is her husband. But do you think this is true? I mean someone could have made a fake voice message using her voice right. I mean why would she do all this?"

Seeing that Angelina was trying to deny the facts given to her Officer Lexi told her where she found the pen drive "This pen drive was found near the dead bodies of your parents so it is more likely that this was kept by the one who killed them. After acquiring it I sent it for testing to see if anyone has tampered with it or not and the results have come. What all was said in this pen drive is said by the person speaking. But we were unable to identify the voice that’s why I asked you to listen it hoping you would have heard it.”

Angelina was upset with this revelation as her hope that Aunt Ella hasn’t done done it broke. What Officer Lexi just said proved that Aunt Ella had in fact killed her parents.

Officer Lexi understood Angelina’s state but there was no time to waste. They had to get hold of Ella as soon as possible, “Do you know where this aunt of yours lives we need to can go and ask her some questions. Also we need to send a team to check on Rose. It would be better if we gave the address of Rose to some of my people and I take a few with me and find this Ella. You will have to come with me and I know Andrew is going to follow us anyway so we can take him as well" Officer Lexi said while getting up and indicating Angelina to take her to her Aunt's house. They found Andrew  outside with a sleeping Natasha and caught him up on everything. Angelina gave both the address to officer Lexi. Officer Lexi talked with other cops for some time and then started making her way out of the police station but not before signaling for Angelina and Andrew to follow her.

While getting in the car Angelina asked "What if this is a lie?" She still hoped it was a lie. Starting the car the officer Lexi replied "Well, if it is a lie then at least you can get some help from them because if this is a lie you will be in a very deep trouble. As far as I know your uncle has filled a case against you which can end you up in jail so if this is going to be a lie then you will have to go in prison." There was a chance of the pen drive being a lie but Officer Lexi did not think it was.

Angelina was shocked to learn about this. 'Uncle hates me so much that he made sure I will end up in jail without any proof how he can do this to me is beyond my imagination. He used to love me so much and dotted on me as if I am his own daughter then why is he doing this?' This was the only thing going on in her mind.
