Chapter 3

The lady officer kept on looking at her for a few minutes trying to understand her and then told her "Okay we can listen to what you have to say. But first let me tell you a case has been already filed against you for killing your parents. And by the way I am Senior Inspector Lexi and I will be handling this case."

This shocked Angelina to the core. ‘A case has already been filed for Mum and Dad’s murders and that also against me? Who in their right minds believes that I will kill my own parents?’ After a moment she asked "But why in the world would I kill my own parents? Who filed this case? How can someone think that about something stupid like this? How can you even accuse me of something so ridiculous like this?"Angelina was furious how can someone even come up with some bullshit like this.

Andrew had expected her reaction. He knew that what was happening is wrong and Angelina can never kill a person whom she hates so killing her parents was out of question. But the problem was that the case was filed by some powerful people. Of course if he wanted he could easily dismiss this case but then he will have to give an explanation to his Father as to why he did it. Plus he was not sure if Angelina wanted him to involve his Father or not. So Andrew kept silent and let Officer Lexi do the talking as he was in no condition of doing it himself.

Having expected such an outburst by Angelina, Officer Lexi replied, "The case has been filed by your mother's brother Sam Jones. He said that you hated your parents and so decided to kill them. We are trying to find some information about where you were at that time and is it possible that you killed them or not. But for the time we will have to take you in the custody"

Officer Lexi knew that this was a baseless case but she would still have to follow the legal procedure to prove that Angelina had in fact not done anything. It hurt her to do this to the poor girl who had just lost her parents but she had to do it, so she maintained a cold facade and told her everything Angelina needed to know.

On hearing what Officer Lexi had said Andrew stood up and exclaimed "I already told you that she was in the college at the time of murder so how can you take her in the custody. You don't even have a proof against her" ‘There was no way in hell that I am going to let them take Angelina in custody’ thought Andrew.

"But still she is the most obvious suspect as she had an argument with them just last night. Didn't she? Plus there is nothing much I can do! Her uncle is a government officer and since he has filed this case we will have to take some action even if we don’t want to” argued the lady officer.

While Andrew and Officer Lexi were Arguing whether Angelina should be taken into custody or not, Angelina was lost in her own world. She did not know how to react. Her own Uncle whom she loved loved so much, the Uncle who used to get anything she asked for thought she could kill her own parents in cold blood! She did not know what was happening or why he was behaving like this. But she knew one thing that she would never forget what he did.

"So what if I had an argument with them, an argument won't compel me to kill them. Even you are a daughter would you kill your parents if you have a small fight over an insignificant matter? Whatever it is ask what you want to ask I don't have any problem with it as long as you can get justice for my parents." Angelina replied after some time when she realized the argument going on between Andrew and Officer Lexi. She was determined to get her parents murderer in jail that she was ready to face anything. Plus there was absolutely no reason to be afraid as she had not done anything.

Andrew looked at her determined face and sighed. He knew she was ready to do anything for her parents. And the fact that she had not done anything wrong helped her confidence. But he was still skeptical with the taking in custody thing and wanted to avoid it. Thinking that it would be better if he got his dad involved would be best for Angelina, he offered, "It's ok if you don't wanna do this I can ask for help from Dad. You know he will get you out of this if you ask. After all you are like a daughter to him. You will just have to ask him as he wont do anything unless and until you ask him"

Angelina had a small smile on her face for the first time after she saw her parents dead bodies. And the reason of this smile was Andrew’s Father, Emillio. This made Andrew slightly jealous as just the mere mention of his Father’s name can make her smile yet he couldn’t do the same even though he was in front of her.

Emillio Moretti was a well known businessman. Everyone was scared to cross him. The media told that he was a heartless and arrogant businessman, but only those close to him knew that behind the cold heart which was portrayed to the public lied a heart of gold. He loved his family allot and wanted to help as many people he can. He even made many donations to orphanages and old age homes but never let a word get out about it. He loved his son and his son’s best friend since childhood allot. There were times when he favored Angelina over Andrew.

But he also had this rule which he kept on telling them since like forever, “I will help you and give you whatever you want but only and only if you ask me for it. If you want something then you will have to ask me for it. You are not going to get anything without asking” He had applied this rule for their birthday gifts as well. They had to ask for anything they wanted and he would get it for them. But it was a rare occurrence as neither Andrew nor Angelina asked for anything, they were happy with what they had.

Knowing that  Uncle Emillio had her back was enough for Angelina to know that she was going to be alright. “Its fine I will manage. but still we should tell him what happened and what is going to happen. He needs to know, just tell him to let me try to clear my name legally. If something goes wrong then we can get his help.” Angelina replied determinedly. She knew she will have to fight her own battles and cant depend on Uncle Emillio too much. Andrew also understood the hidden meaning behind this and called his father to keep him informed about what is happening.
