Samantha's POV

“What is wrong with you?” he asked me while I was walking out of the bar. I bit my bottom lip to stop myself from sobbing. I couldn't look at him. I just kept walking away from him while he followed me.

“Nothing, just get back inside. I want to be alone,” I told him. He caught my hand and pulled me closer to him. I lowered my head to hide my tears.

“What is your problem? Tell me,” he asked, but I shook my head. He held my chin and made me look at him. His forehead was knotted; he was confused, and his eyes were full of questions.

“Why are you crying?” he asked me. I forced myself to distance from him by pushing him. He looked at me, but I just smiled bitterly.

“I'm fine, it's just that—” I tried to find words to reason, but I couldn't. “Hey, you can talk to me. What's the matter?” he asked again. I shook my head and just continued walking to his car.

I went inside and cried. Damn it. Why can't I tell him? Why can't I tell
