I let them finish their conversation before walking toward the table. It took them minutes to be done. I acted like I hadn’t seen anything.

I was holding my things in the room when he took them from me. “Let me do it,” he said, walking toward the cabinet. I stayed silent. It was already dark when we arrived at his house. It was big, but I didn’t see anyone else around. No guards, no maids. It seemed like it was just the two of us.

Maybe that’s the reason he brought me here.
