Samantha's POV

It’s been two days since I last went to school. Diego told me that Andrew is now in jail. I feel free to do what I want now because there's no longer a threat hanging over me.

Diego dropped me off at school earlier before heading to work. Mom and Dad called the other day, worried about what happened. I don’t want them to worry, so I told them I was fine.

Mom and Dad will be back next week. They just have some paperwork to finish up. I know they’re coming home because they’re concerned, even though I’ve assured them that I’m okay. But they insisted on returning.

Still, I can’t fully forget what happened to me. I’m trying to be brave, trying to act like it never occurred, but deep inside, I’m scared. I’m afraid it could happen again.

“Hey, you’re quiet. Are you okay?” Windy asked. My gaze shifted to her and the bracelet she was wearing.

If she were the girl from that night, she would never have dared to help me. I
