My gaze shifts to her as she laughs with her cousins. “I’m happy to see you with Sam. She’s an adorable lady,” Elisha says, watching them play together.

“What do you think of her?” I ask. She glances at me before chuckling.

“Really? You’re asking me that? Sam is your wife, dummy,” she laughs, clearing her throat. I glare at her; she knows how to tease me.

Elisha is one of my closest cousins and also knows how to handle business—she’s very clever.

“She’s amazing. I mean, look at her. A very jolly woman. She can even make everyone smile with her jokes. And I like how friendly she is. She’s innocent and lovely,” she says, glancing at me.
