“Danielle,” I heard Tyler’s voice as I walked out of the prison. He was wearing a brown polo shirt and deep blue jeans. Even from the distance, I could still see the brown mop of hair that was right beside him.

I sighed as I walked towards them, Matilde’s funeral was a few hours ago and although I wished I could have attended, Tyler supported the idea of visiting Rye. I blew out breath from my cheeks as I increased my pace and it was not too long before I was right in front of TYLER.

The black-haired man wore an expression that seemed almost impossible to read. Trace had hidden away from me, something he had been doing lately and I was struggling to decide whether or not he was shy or if he simply did not like me.

“How did it go?” Tyer’s voice sounded strange, almost as if he was trying to cover up his actual one with some sort of façade and it was not working.

“She thinks I did it,” I could barely hear my voice over the sound of cars speeding.
