"She locked herself in and I couldn't persuade her." She informed the tech billionaire who was already standing not far from her..

His mate's scent was stronger than any other scent that they could scent. In the next seconds he was standing Infront of the door and grabbed the door knob but it was locked.

He trailed his finger on the waterproof door while considering breaking it down and forced his way in but unfortunately he doesn't wanna scare the little woman.

He felt her feet when he held her earlier and that made him uncomfortable.

Nicklaus looked around and finally found a pin on the hair of the lady beside him.

He took it off her hair without warning and began picking the lock surprising Caroline..

She was speechless and at a loss of what to do..

The 'click' sounded echoed in the hallway and he impatiently walked inside the room.

He clenched his hand into a fist as when he saw how little the room his mate was staying in.

He scanned the entire room and finally found the little woman hiding under the sheets..

Nicklaus stopped on his track and just stared at her trembling figure..

"Why are you hiding from me, little one?" He asked with the softest voice ever and he was having a hard time because it was his first time trying to coax someone...

"Annah? What's going on? Why are you hiding?" Caroline's shrewd voice made his ear hurt ..

"Get out." He closed his eyes and took a deep breath while trying to calm his wolf..

When the confused Caroline still didn't move he turned around and looked at her with eyes burning with fury..

"What part of getting out! Don't you understand?" Patience has never been a forte for any wolf..

Caroline was shocked beyond words and she found herself running away angrily..

Who does he think he's?

Once that nuisance was outta the room he walked towards the bed and sat down quietly before taking the sheets off her face..

"Stop hiding from me Little one, I won't hurt you." He spoke tenderly and she somehow believed everything he'd said..

She wasn't really scared of him, she was only confused and was trying to understand how he could be the same man in her dreams..

"We've to leave now, please." He whispered and slowly brought his big palm to her face and stroked her cheek gently..

Nicklaus has never said the word 'please' to anyone before but for her he was willing to do anything..

Nicklaus's driver Shea walked in with a warm smile..

"Hello Miss Alannah, I'm Shea. I'm here to pick your things." He grinned and Annah just kept staring at his face before nodding slowly..

"Shea, can you wait outside Abit? I need to talk to her." Shea nodded and left..

Their alpha has finally found his mate , it's only right they spend time alone..

Once Shea was gone.

Nicklaus turned to the little woman and stroked her hair tenderly..

"We need to leave, my love." He spoke rather tenderly and this was only because he was talking to her..

Annah looked at him with a confused expression and while wondering what was going on in this beautiful stranger's head.

"But I'm not your love." She simply said what was in her head and this made his lips curled upwards..

He moved closer and Suddenly made her rest her head on his thigh..

"You're my Mate , Alannah and no sane creature would ever hurt their mate even if they wanted to.. we're bonded together forever. So don't be scared and let me protect you." Nicklaus coaxes her while combing her chestnut hair with his longer slender fingers..

It was the first time in her life someone was looking at her with so much affection and this awoke some Many strange feelings inside of her.

Over the years she'd gotten used to how our people saw her and already gave up on the fact that someone would actually look at her with so much love and affection..

They gave her that look as if she was Medusa and would throw gazes filled with pure disgust but the stranger was genuinely concerned about her and was also patient with her even when she proved difficult..

Nicklaus brought her tiny hand to his chest and she could feel his heart beating really fast..

"Can you feel that?" He asked with a husky voice..

Annah felt butterflies in her stomach when he held her wrist, surprisingly it didn't hurt and his palm was warm..

It was the same feeling she felt when he hugged her and also in her dreams but didn't pay attention to it because she was scared.

But when she felt it clearly she wanted to touch his face too and she did..

She took her hand away from his chest and placed it on his face while scrutinizing his face..

"I know you feel it too, my love. Hurting you is like hurting myself." Nicklaus placed his hand on hers which was on his cheek and stroked it gently..

His hot breath against her face sent a tingling sensation down her body and she felt relaxed immediately..

"Now, Will you come with me?" This Time she nodded.. her body answered before her mind could even process anything.

She knew she wouldn't regret her actions because strangely she believed him.

The mate bond worked its way..

"Thank you." Nicklaus broke into a bright smile that left her speechless for a while..

How can this man be so handsome and dangerous at the same time?

Nicklaus retracted his hand and the loss of park made her frown slightly but he took her hand instead and helped her outta bed gently like he was afraid he would hurt her..

Even though Annah hasn't gotten used to the closeness between them, she didn't stop him and just let him do whatever she wants..

Nicklaus wanted to hug her and plant kisses all over her face if that was gonna ease her tensed muscle but he didn't want her to be uncomfortable..

"Can I take a shower first? I feel uncomfortable in these clothes." She asked him like she needed his opinion first and this made him smile..

"Okay I'll wait." He said and sat back down on the bed and leaned backwards the headboard..

Annah went through her bags and took out a gray sweatpants and white hoodie.

She unhurriedly walked towards the bathroom leaving the man in her room...

Once she was inside the bathroom she took a deep breath and touched the spot her heart was and sigh..

This was the first time her heart was beating really fast..

She heaved a tired sigh and quickly took a bath before changing into comfortable clothing and walked outta the bathroom with a towel in her hand..

She was wiping her hair while water droplets trailed down her face to her neck..

Nicklaus frowned slightly upon seeing this..

"Do you have a hairdryer?" He asked and she shook her head..

She was just a fragile little one and letting her go outside with wet hair could make her catch a cold..

"Come here." He patted the space in between his legs and she slowly walked towards him without hesitation..

He took the towel from her and dried her hair with the towel gently

After making sure her hair had been wiped properly, he tossed the towel aside and grabbed hold of her again..

"Let's go." And together they walked outta her apartment and found Shea leaning against the wall lazily..

"We're leaving, get the car ready." Nicklaus informed Shea and walked hand in hand with Anna but she stopped walking and looked at him...

"Yes, My love?" Shea's jaw dropped to the ground when he heard the endearment word from his Alpha, never in his life did he think this scary creature could be so sweet towards his mate..

"What about my stuff? " She asked.

"You don't need any of that, I'll buy you everything you need, okay?" He saw the place was and he was sure there was nothing worthy of his precious mate..

Thinking about how she was able to stay in such a small room made his wolf fraught.

"But I have some important stuff in there." She pouted her lips like a child and he found it really cute..

He couldn't help but smile at her childishness.

Nicklaus held her chin and raised her head so she could stare at him .

"Don't worry, Shea will get everything if that's what you want." He and Annah gave him a faint smile which didn't go unnoticed by him.

This small gesture from her made his wolf side purred..

Two black cars were already waiting at the entrance of her apartment for them and Annah didn't see Caroline around..

Did she leave already?

Annah gasps in surprise when he suddenly lifts her up and carries her in bridal style..

And walked towards the car.

Who would believe a multi billionaire was actually treating an orphan like a princess?
