A man dressed in a white tuxedo stepped out from one of the black vans that had pulled over in front of the Wells mansion. He adjusted his bulletproof vest. It was the captain. He stormed the Wells mansion with his security experts consisting of snipers, assassins, and trained men. They arrived in five black vans and before the police officers at the gate could reinforce, they threw a grenade into the house that shook its foundation. While the police officers and the captain’s men were engaged in a heated gun battle, he was led by a group of armed men into the house. Leonard and David were in their respective chambers when the blast happened. Eleanor and Fred, together with the rest of the servants were in the party scene when the ground shook, causing the tables and decorations to tremble, creating a mess. Some of the servants had sustained injuries from the unexpected fall. At Maurice’s command, they hurried toward the house and headed to the security rooms created in the mansion
Sylvia crawled into the tunnel while David followed her. Having him crawl behind her gave Sylvia the courage to crawl faster.About five minutes later, they came out through the other end of the tunnel. Sylvia fell to the ground and was soon gasping for breath. When she rolled her eyes around her surrounding, it dawned on her that they were in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by shrubs and grasses.David felt his pocket but his phone wasn't there. “I must have lost it while crawling,” he told Sylvia. “Stay right here. I'll get in there and find my phone.”Sylvia abruptly stood up and grabbed his shirt with all her might. “You can't leave me alone in this dark forest, David. He sighed. “Look, Sylvia. We are not in any dark forest. This wood is behind the mansion. I guess we made it to the back of the house. I need to get my phone and place a call to my father so that they can come and get us out of here.”Sylvia gave repeated nods and freed David.David squatted and was about to head
Sylvia felt her forehead with the back of her palm. She was burning all over. She pressed her eyes against each other and slowly opened them. She shut her eyes again and began to have flashes. In her vision, she was eavesdropping on Cathrina and June when a blast shook the house. David rescued her and they ran into the woods.“David!” she screamed and flew out of the spring bed.She rolled her eyes around her surrounding. She was no longer in the woods. She was in a house, seated on a bed.David and a woman were sitting by the local furnace when Sylvia screamed his name. David rushed to Sylvia and immersed her in a hug. “Thank Goodness you are okay.”Sylvia pulled away and rubbed her eyes with the edge of her palms repeatedly.“Where are we? What time of the day is it?” Sylvia demanded. She turned to the woman towering above her with a quirked brow. “David, who is she?”The grey-haired woman was in her late 70s. She smiled and sat by the edge of the bed. “I'm Penelope. I found you guy
June wanted to run but the police officer pointed the gun at her leg and pulled the trigger before she could take to her heels. He shot her. She fell to the ground and groaned in pain as blood kept gushing from her leg. Soon, the sheriff and other police officers formed a barricade around her. When Sylvia and David arrived at the scene, they were dumbfounded. Sylvia rushed to Penelope’s lifeless body and began to wail. “She shot her!” the officer who caught June supplied. The Sherriff sighed in relief and turned to David. “I'm so thankful that we found you, Mr. Wells. We've been scouting this damned forest for the past 30 hours.” David wasn't listening to the police officer. He kept staring at June with a clenched jaw. June broke out laughing. “I shot her! I killed her right? It should have been Sylvia right? Right David?” She was about to rise when two police officers caught her. They handcuffed her. She began to laugh maniacally and that was when David suspected that she had
“Come with me!”David positioned his hands on his hips. “Not till you tell me what’s going on here.”Leonard walked up to David and bridged the gap between them. “Come with me, son. Let’s go to the Penthouse and talk there.” He said. “I’ll go get changed.”Leonard left.David sighed and headed straight to the kitchen. He had no idea how long his session at the Penthouse will last but he needed to leave some instructions. In the kitchen, Sylvia was going back and forth, losing like someone that had just lost her mind. She hadn’t gotten over the trauma of the recent incidents but someone had to cook the meals and after realizing that all the servants were back to their posts, she had no choice.“Shit!” She groaned in frustration after the frozen chicken she had pulled out of the freezer slipped through her grasp.“You should have worn gloves before pulling it out,” David remarked while Sylvia was about to grab the chicken from the floor. She turned around. David was by the door.Sylvia
“Start talking!” David barked at Cathrina and stood beside his father. She began to tremble and soon tears were welling up in her eyes.“Spare us the drama Cathrina. By now, we are already used to your fake emotions.” Leonard spat.David smirked.“Your lover sent assassins to my house. Scores of my men are injured while others lost their lives because of you Cathrina. You’ll get a court summon before nightfall. You’ll appear in court tomorrow and I swear to God, I’ll ensure you rot in jail.” Leonard said with his brows furrowing with rage.“I’m sorry.” Cathrina sniffled. “I swear to God, it wasn’t my intention to hurt anyone. I know you won’t believe me and that’s why I followed you guys down here to talk because I might not get the chance to speak.”“Did you or did you not invite Griffin to my house?”“I didn’t. He wanted me back in his place in two days but I wanted to leave after the end-of-year party but then he got impatient and I swear to God, I didn’t know he was going to come
Griffin’s chauffeur drove straight to his mansion. Griffin had decided to keep them locked up in his house till he decided on what to do with them. When they got to the house, his guards dragged Cathrina and Leonard out of the car. While Leonard kept resisting going further by shaking his head and staying transfixed in his spot, Cathrina simply obeyed while Leonard was dragged away. The duo was then taken down to Griffin’s basement. They were forced to sit down on the cold floor. Three men were stationed at the entrance of the basement to guard the spot after Leonard and Cathrina were thrown inside. After Leonard sat on the floor, he felt something in his pants pocket. The particular pocket in the back of his trousers felt heavy. His eyes glistened when he realized that he had his phone with him this whole damn time. His GPS was always on.***While Sylvia was pacing back and forth, Officer Darcey was at a corner making a phone call. She had sworn to never get tangled in the mess
With her head facing the ceiling, Sylvia wondered what Leonard must be going through. It was 5 am and still, there was no news on David. The police are still trying to figure out his location and so far, it was noted that he hasn't checked into any hospital or clinic.Sylvia grabbed her pillow and pressed it on her face. She exhaled sharply and held unto the thought that David was alive. As far as she was concerned, Griffin was his biological father and he won't let anything happen to him.Sylvia’s alarm was set for 6 am but she had been awake for the past two hours. She hadn't gotten any sleep all through the night, and at this point, she had completed that Officer Darcey was going to suspect her relationship with David because she had been texting him all through the night to find out if there was any update even though the officer had informed her that he was going to keep her posted. As for Fred, Sylvia hadn't gone to check up on him throughout the night. He had his medical team a
