Concern was written all over Matt's face. “Are you sure it'll be okay for you to be alone with Adam?”

“Yeah,” she replied softly.

“Maybe I should lurk around in case you need me?” Matt continued.

She smiled. “It's fine, plus I have a little friend.”

He raised an eyebrow. “Friend?”

“Yes,” she let out a small chuckle, seeing Matt's slightly parted lips and the confused look on his face. “They help me sleep at night since the nightmares started.”

“Oh…” Matt hummed, the confused look still lingering on his face.

“Strong sedatives,” she clarified.

“Oh, oh, yeah,” he finally nodded in understanding.

“There's lots of things I'd like to do there,” she continued. “So Adam can't be walking around while I do those.”

“Like taking some cash from my hidden safe,” she thought to herself.

“Still, you should probably leave me a text message like every ten minutes so that I know you're fine,” he suggested.

“I'll do that after every twenty,” she countered.
