Chapter 41: The dining room

With a satisfied smile, Adam picked up his glass and gulped down half his juice at a go.

Ten minutes earlier,

I stood in front of the toilet mirror with clenched fists and gritted teeth as I stared at my reflection.

“I hate Adam so much,” I muttered to myself.

As I stepped out of the restroom, I took a deep breath. I need to act fast; he is starting to get out of hand.

Just as I was about to enter the dining area, I saw Adam pouring a white powdery substance into my juice.

Stepping back, I retreated into the hallway, and I watched him stir the juice.

After giving him a moment to shove the paper into his pocket and pretend like nothing happened, I walked back in and took my seat.

“Sorry for being so forward with you just now,” Adam apologized.

“It's okay, sir,” I nodded, and then I hit my fork to the ground.

Adam immediately bent down to pick it up. And at that moment, I knew it was now or never.

My hands moved quickly, and my heart raced as I exchanged his glass of juice
