Chapter 3

Olivia smirked, her lips curling into a cold smile.

“Alright then, let’s see if you really have a marriage certificate!”

Then she grabbed my hair and dragged me into the living room.

There, she spotted our wedding photos displayed on the shelves.

Seething with rage, she struck my face again.

“You dare take wedding photos with Josh? Do you think you’re the rightful wife? Look at yourself now. You don’t resemble the person in the picture at all! You must have slipped the photographer some money to edit those!”

Dazed from the blows, I tried to explain, “I’m not a mistress! Let me go. I’ll find the marriage certificate!”

“What marriage certificate? With that face, how could Josh ever marry you?

“Tsk, tsk, tsk, this house is really tasteless. Josh has seriously downgraded since leaving me. Ladies, please do me a favor and destroy all this ugly stuff!”

At her words, the women surged forward, and the room was suddenly filled with the sounds of smashing and crashing.

My wedding photos with Joshua, the newly bought crystal chandelier, and our matching couple mugs were shattered into pieces.

Olivia rummaged through my belongings and found the introduction to my gallery.

She approached me and unleashed another round of blows, striking me relentlessly.

“You? The owner of a gallery? Do you even know what art is?

“The Royal Academy of Arts? That’s a second-rate school. I’ve never even heard of it! And you dare flaunt a title to swindle people!

“Let me tell you, I graduated from a prestigious university in the capital! And you think you can compete with me?”

The relentless assault from the women had already worn me down. I realized that if they continued, I would inevitably lose my baby.

Exhausted, I collapsed on the floor, silently contemplating my next move. Just then Olivia returned.

She held my clothes, and in front of me, she began cutting them to shreds.

“You should take a good look at yourself! You look like a cow and deliberately bought these tiny clothes. Do you think you can even fit into them?

“Or do you just like wearing tight clothes to attract men?”

As she continued her tirade, her anger grew, and she kicked my stomach again.

A wave of intense pain surged through my abdomen, and I clutched my belly, crying out in agony.

“Call an ambulance! I’m in so much pain! Please, save my baby!”

It was as if Olivia hadn’t heard me.

She spun around in front of me, her chest puffed out, a smug smile on her face.

“Open your eyes and see what a perfect figure looks like!

“You need to stand tall where it counts and flaunt it!

“Men always say that a good woman weighs less than a hundred pounds. You’re flat-chested and short!

“With a figure like yours, no man with any sense would even glance your way!

“If Josh even looked at you, he must have been desperate!”

Blood continued to flow between my legs, and I felt my strength fading. My vision blurred as I slipped into emptiness.

“Look, the little mistress’s water broke! Is she about to give birth?” I heard one of the older ladies ask.

“This is a matter of life and death! Hurry and take her to the hospital!” Another one said.

Olivia shot them a glare that silenced the room.

“Anyone who speaks for her is against me and the Jaxson family!”

Everyone fell silent at the threat.

Olivia smirked at my belly, her lips curling with disdain.

“If you dared to be the mistress, you should have expected this retribution. An illegitimate child born out of secrecy and betrayal doesn’t deserve to live!

“Let her give birth here. I want to see what kind of monster comes out of her!”

The pain in my abdomen intensified, and in my haze, I sensed something slipping away from me.

Then I heard running footsteps and a familiar voice broke through my pain.

“Olivia? Why didn’t you close the door while you were home alone?”

Joshua had finally returned!
