He didn't have time to explain it to Winston.

"Please call a taxi for me. If Luke Huxley asks, just tell him I insisted on leaving."

Now that his dear ex-girlfriend has returned from abroad, the busy president is likely to inquire about his ex-wife's status.

She believed Winston cared about nothing.

Faced with Dexie's determination to leave, Winston had no choice but to call a taxi for her.

Since Winswood House was in a wealthy neighborhood, people here had drivers, so the area hardly had taxis.

It would take a long time for the taxi to reach Winswood's house.

Dexie did not want to stay in the bedroom that brought back too many memories. With Winston's help, she descended the stairs.

As she passed through the courtyard, she noticed the Malus bed she had planted was still there.

"Why are they still here?" Dexie glanced at Winston out of the corner of her eye.

"I had asked a maid to throw it away, but Mr. Dawson would not allow it," responded Winston truthfully.

This novel is sooooo poorly written. It's hard to follow along with the dialogues since there's so many grammatical errors and misuse of pronouns....a boy/man is a he/him ...a girl/woman is a she/her!.
