Game over

Chapter 3 

President Cage was sitting at his desk with his Tablet in front of him and he was focused on what he was watching that he didn't even blink an eye. His long lases created a shadow over his narrowed eyes.

Groans and cheers could be heard from the background.  It was the scene of Mr Donald being thrown by the Thor looking man. After seeing that he was crawling and couldn't walk on his own anymore, he took the phone beside him and dialed a number.

" Game over" he declared and cut off the call. He turned off the Tablet then grabbed some files on his desk to began reading. He was so engrossed in it that his concentration got broken only when his phone rang.

"Honey, are you coming home tonight?" A soft Voice asked. It was the voice of a Middle-aged woman, His Mother to be precise.

He checked the time then glanced at his table, examining the remaining work to be done.

"Is there something special happening?" He asked as he couldn't remember if something of such was going to happen.

His mother's nervous laughter could be heard from the other side "No, I just want you home, I miss you" She replied but her reply made him furrow his eyes.

"Are you the one who wants to see me or that Man?" He asked with sheer coldness. It was apparent that he hated whomever the 'Man' was. Even his Mother could detect the change in his tone.

"How could that be, I only want to see you, so, are you free tonight, I could come to your company too" She suggested and he sighed, she always know how to get him. She only had to threaten him with her health as she was just getting better.

"You aren't well enough to move around, I would come home when I'm done with work" He replied helplessly. 

"I'll be expecting you, I love you" She seems excited that he was coming home. 

"Same" he replied then the call ended. He was about putting down the phone when his office door was knockéd on.

He looked up to see Yelena's head  peeking from the door.

"Come in" She quickly moved forward then bowed before stating her reason for coming.

"Boss, I'm about heading to the Site of the New Hotel and it means I wouldn't be back for the day, so, I'm here to say goodbye" She lowered her head again.  

He checked the schedules for the day and saw she indeed wouldn't be back for the day. "You should leave then, remember to send in the mails before today ends" He told her and she internally cursed him. 

'Can't you just wait till tomorrow before asking for that, you monster! 

"You can curse me all you want but I must not hear it anywhere and you'll have to Send the Mail regardless" He told her on a final note and Yelena felt like crying. She wonders how he always knew what they were thinking. 

"I'm sorry Boss, thank you" She quickly ran out. He shook his head at her behavior then focused on what he was doing.

At the door, Yelena bumped into Korin who had just arrived. He was visibly tired as his eyes were bloodshot.

He looked at her weirdly as he couldn't understand why she was running. 

"Wh...."

"What happened with Mr Donald?" She interrupted  him before he could ask his question.

"He's in the hospital, why?" He replied her like he was talking about why the sky is blue. Yelena on the other hand had her eyes wide open like saucer. 

"He isn't in coma, right?" She asked him making him smile.

"It isn't that se...." 

"Seems Yelena is now your Boss, Korin, since you had to report to her first" They both heard their Boss's voice. Panic could be seen on Korin's facial expression and same could be said for Yelena but she quickly ran away from the crime scene. Korin cursed her in his heart.

"No, Boss, it's not like that, the thing i...." He was interrupted again.

"That's enough, have you handled his secretary too?" Korin felt like crying, He was only 20 but it feels like he has started growing Grey hairs and wrinkled skin. 

"Yes Boss" He replied.

"You should finish up your remaining work, we are going home tonight" His Boss told him and Korin looked up surprised.

"Like seriously, We really are going home?" The only reason he was surprised was because His Boss hadn't visited in like 5 months and he perfectly understood the reason, so, he was surprised when he heard his Boss talk about going home.

"Mother called" was his simple reply but Korin understood.

"I'll go prepare" he left the office.

Yelena went back to her office to tidy up her stuffs so she could leave.

"See you Tomorrow then" she waved at Halle, who was busy typing on her computer. The latter also waved back at her without looking up. 

Yelena went out of the office and headed for their Elevator. Several workers bowed to her and she was finally able to return their greetings, she waved at them with a smile on her face until she had to enter the elevator.

After coming out of the Elevator, she headed for the underground park because it was where she had parked her car that morning.

She was about entering her car when she saw another car stopping. The person in the Car stepped out making Yelena frown as she realized who he was.

"Hi, Yell" He waved at her with pure delight. He had the same glassy blue eyes and Golden Brown hair as her Boss. Infact, they looked very alike, only that this one was the Sunny version of her North pole Boss. Her Boss also had wider shoulder and wasn't as lean as the guy was.

"Vice president Cage, how have you been" She bowed to him which made him frown. She actually wouldn't have waited if she had recognized his car, it seems he had changed it.

"I know My brother have been making you suffer and you want to take out the anger on me but I'm innocent okay" He told her when he saw she wanted to ignore him.

"My Boss doesn't make us suffer" She defended, she had grown to be defensive of him, so, her action was subconscious. Cayden grinned when he heard her words.

"So now you are being defensive of my Brother, what about me your best friend?" His words made her scoff.

"Best friend indeed, you didn't tell me when you Wanted to go to New Zealand, I had to hear from Boss. Is that how Best friends behave?" She glared at him and he moved closer to her before holding her Shoulder.

"Okay, I'm sorry, forgive this pitiful soul, um?" He pouted cutely and blinked his eyes, completing the doll like look. Yelena shook her head then brushed his hand away from her Shoulder.

"I have work to do, don't waste my time" She walked back to her car. He watched as she leave then waved at her.

"See you later" He then began walking into the company.

Yelena ignited the engine and drove away. The Location for the New hotel was about two hours journey, which was why she would be unable to return to the company after the check up.

Yelena, Eleanor, Halle, and Cayden had attended the same High school which was where they had met. Yelena and Eleanor were childhood friends and they became close with Halle when they changed school and attended same school as she did. Apparently, Cayden was the Most popular guy in school then as he was very handsome and was from an influential family. Halle on the other hand, was the least popular in school as she was a nerd who always minded her business. 

They became close when She was getting Bullied by some girls who hated her because they felt Cayden liked her. They had helped her out and became friends since then. Cayden also had gotten closer to them because of Halle, but later became best of friends with them. Well, he still hasn't confessed to her because he had heard Halle didn't want to get involved with any guy who isn't Serious with his life. 

He originally didn't want to work in the company but because of her, he took the position of the vice president. He also Made the two girls take interview for his Family's company so they could work in same place at him. Eleanor was the only one who opened a Snacks shop because she wasn't interested in working in a company.

Cayden had finally gotten into the Company, the workers bowed to him and he entered The President's elevator to go to his Brother's floor. The Elevator stopped at the floor and he stepped out before heading for The Secretaries office.

He peeked from the Window and Saw Halle who was still busy on her computer. She took random sips from the Tea cup as she continued working. 

He smiled before knocking on the door. Halle looked up before Saying 'come in'. The door opened but she didn't look up, she only heard footsteps which grew nearer.

"BOOM!!!!!  Halle jumped from her sit in fright. She glared at him on noticing the mischievous smile on his face.

She took the ruler on her desk before hitting him with it. "Ouch, how could you do that" He pouted but she only shook her head before sitting back on her sit.

"I could have welcomed you with a smile if you didn't scare me" She told him then threw a Can of Coke to him. They had a fridge in their office, Perks of being the Boss's Secretaries.

"No, I want a hug instead" He stretched out his hand to her for a hug. She shook her head at his childish antics but hugged him as he had requested. Cayden closed his eyes and took a deep breath as he inhaled her familiar Lavender scent. He hadn't felt so peaceful in a while.

" My big baby" She patted his back then released him. 

"So how was New Zealand? Although I'm still angry at you for not telling me" 

He smiled at her words "I would have to make report to my boss first or he would have my head" Halle understood him, so, she nodded in understanding.

"See you later, then" He got up and made for the door. He had to get to his Brother's office soon or the guy would flip.
