Chapter Sixty Nine

Klaus PoV

“What do you think did it?” Babel asked

“Or who?” Eda, another member of the patrol guard, chipped in.

“Surely a human couldn’t possibly do that,” Babel countered, “only a wolf can.”

“But the surface area is not large enough to fit wolf, even a cub,” Eda argued, “a human did this.”

“A werewolf in human form would not survive this much carnage,” Babel snorted, “the crash landing was pretty bad.”

Babel was right. Lisa shouldn’t haven survived such a fall. Trees were ripped from the ground, and grass was flattened against the ground. It sure was a miracle that she was still alive after all she’d gone through these past couple of months. Her wolf must be one of a kind. Extremely determined to stay alive against all odds.

“Alpha,” Babel gently nudged me, “you’ve been silent.”

“Is anything wrong, Alpha?” Eda asked.

“I’m just worried about what could do this,” I lied, and forced my mind back to the present.
