No word to say...

Working double shifts at the little busy diner and being married to a billionaire was a puzzle not even Eva Adams could solve.

Feeling the strokes of tiredness engulf her body, she couldn’t help but wish for nothing less of a cozy bed to lie in. she quickly hailed a taxi shrugging her shoulders as the first heavy drops of rainfall yet on another day hit her.

Pushing through the heavy gates of the villa, Eva felt her heart stop as she spotted her husband’s car in the parking lot. She quickly glanced at the time sighing in relief on realizing she was not late.

“Miss Eva you’re back?” Mrs. Rhoda the house manager for over the years asked, her face full of worry. Eva looked at her with a lot of concern, questions running through her mind.

“Is anything the matter, Mrs. Rhoda?” Eva asked but she didn’t get an answer before a loud moan came from upstairs.

Eva could have sworn she felt her insides churn as she turned to look at the woman beside her in bewilderment.

“Miss, I’m so sorry I don’t …” Eva couldn’t wait for her explanation as she took flight upstairs, her heart beating hard and fast.

Their marriage meant nothing to him after she was sold off to him but she could never have dreamt he would go that far.

She pushed the door to their master bedroom, a room she was thrown out so many atimes. Her eyes falling on her husband’s naked body slamming into the breathless woman below him.

“Cal! Don’t stop please, faster…” a familiar shriek resounded into the room as she dug her nails on Calvin’s back.

Eva froze her eyes wide as the two didn’t hear the door open. Her eyes stung in tears as she watched what was a nightmare in her life.

Not able to withstand the scene Eva groaned in grief as she called out her husband’s name. The lovers broke apart at the sound of her pained cry looking at the doorway in shock.

Eva’s eyes went wide as they fell on her one and only cousin who mirrored her shocked reaction. Calvin quickly covered his lover’s body as he covered himself looking at his wife in both shock and disbelief.

“What the fuck are you doing here?” He asked, looking at her in anger.

The tone of his voice quickly pulling Eva out of her shocked state. She felt her heart twist painfully at the callousness in his voice.

“Is that what you have to say after what I just saw?” Eva pushed out the words, her voice breaking as sobs threatened to fall.

“And what exactly do you think you saw?” Calvin asked, looking at her in scorn, making it clear in the open the fact that he never respected their marriage.

Behind him Christine muffled her giggles clearly enjoying the scene. Her parents did nothing else but make her life a living hell.

To think that they would send their daughter to destroy the loveless marriage they threw her into was just out of question.

Eva gasped at his heartless question feeling her breath hitch as her mouth dried of any sound.

“Get out of my house, shameless whore!” Calvin’s angry voice came as he looked at her in fury. Eva closed her eyes tightly, unable to withstand the bitter accusation thrown to her.

“Whaaa…” Eva tried to talk but her breath failed her, her heart speeding dangerously.

“Don’t you even dare bother pretending! I have all the evidence I need!” Her husband said fishing for some documents on the bed stand before throwing them to her face.

As soon as the papers hit the floor pictures scattered on the floor making Eva feel her heart tear into two.

The woman in the pictures was unmistakably her from the mark on her back. Eva lifted her head to look at her husband ready to defend her dignity.

“Calvin, I swear, this isn’t me, please you have to believe me,” Eva said, her eyes clouded in tears.

A slap landed on her face sending falling flat on her behind as she looked up to the angry man before her. She had never known him of violence but this caught her off-guard.

“Get out of my house before I destroy you! I fed you, clothed you but look at how ungrateful you have become!” Calvin spat his bitter words angrily.

Eva’s gaze fell on Christine who didn’t bother hiding her obvious smirk, making Eva realize she was fighting a losing battle.

Her hands fell onto her stomach caressing it as she felt tension sink at the pit of her stomach making it churn.

“Huh? Look at her! Do you want to claim you’re pregnant?” Calvin asked, his voice full of scorn. Eva opened her mouth but no word came out, for some reason over the eyes she never fell pregnant.

“I told you she’ll try all tricks, like the bitch she is!” Christine finally talked behind her confirming her involvement in all that was happening.

“Don’t worry I got this, I’m not one of her useless men! I made sure she couldn’t conceive my baby! No Foxx will be born of a whore!” Calvin swore his eyes bored out to her.

Eva felt her insides shudder at his certain words, anyone who had his vile words could tell he knew exactly what he was talking about. Eva looked at him in surprise as the last of her dignity hung on a thread, her strength failing her.

“Don’t look surprised whore! I’m not a fool!” He said walking towards her as she moved back in terror. The man before her was no longer the man she knew.

“Cal babe, why don’t you invite her to our engagement party tonight,” Christine said looking at Eva as if she were an ugly alien.

Eva felt her heart drop at her cousin’s words, maybe she had misheard her. She had gone through enough humiliation tonight to take more as she turned to the man, she thought she knew.

“Yes, you heard right, I’m getting engaged to Chris here, the Foxx always mingle with their class,” Calvin said with no remorse in his voice.

“What about our marriage? All these years Calvin, have you ever loved me?” Eva asked, feeling her whole world reach a standstill as if hanging by a thread waiting to fall.

A laughter resounded in the room as Christine laughed, throwing her head back.

“You thought you were married?” she asked, looking at Eva in scorn and disbelief.

“Well newsflash cousin, dad sold you out for money which we already spent, I’ve always been the deserving one to become Mrs. Foxx, I’m glad dad talked to Cal before you destroyed the Foxx reputation completely,” Christine added looking at her in amusement, clearly enjoying her downfall.

Before Eva could say anything, she felt herself being pushed forcibly out the door leaving no space for her to get ahold of herself.

“Get out of my house!” Calvin said, pushing her towards the stairs. He had never thought the woman he thought was innocent would turn out to be a shameless woman.

He was glad he always took precautions to prevent her from getting pregnant.

Blinded by anger, he pushed her further unaware of her tripping and falling down the stair steps. Eva let out a scream as she felt her body crumble down the staircase.

Each hit to her body feeling like a bumpy painful ride. She felt her body giving out making her feel her head swirl in darkness as she struggled to keep stable.

Desperate to hold onto anything she could get a hold of but it was like this was her end. Eva gave up trying everything she thought she knew turned out to be a lie. She let herself go feeling the peace in the quiet darkness that engulfed her.
