Chapter 31

Emma’s POV

I tried opening my eyes and I squinted back immediately as a ray of light shone brightly into my eyes, I groaned and tried to turn to the other side of the bed I was laying, and I felt sharp pain traveling all over my body

“Easy, take it easy!” I heard Alpha Lucas' voice and I opened my eyes immediately, I saw him sitting beside me on the stool near my bed.

“What are you doing here?” I breathed out, and he ignored me getting a cup of water, he handed the water over to me and I gulped it down immediately, feeling extremely relieved.

“Thank you,” I said. I suddenly remembered what had landed me in this predicament, and I wondered about how Alpha Lucas found out about it and had come over to aid me.

“You are severely injured, and the doctor said it will take some time for you to heal,” Alpha Lucas said and tears welled up in my eyes, he was about to stand up when I suddenly held his hand

“I swear I didn’t do it,” I said, and he gently placed his hand on top of mine

“Yes, I k
