Aria
"What if I don't do what you asked me to do?" I said defiantly.
Nathan shrugged. "Then, I guess you never get to see your sister again."
Asshole...
"Fine," I said, sighing. "What do you want me to do?" I asked. At this point, I am willing to do whatever it takes to get back to my sister. Then, I will plan an escape with her. I knew she was somewhere in this house. I could almost feel her presence.
Nathan's voice cut like a knife, sharp and demanding. "Strip," he ordered, his dark eyes drilling into mine with a wicked gleam.
My stomach twisted in disgust as I scowled at him. "Excuse me?" I shot back, gripping the edge of my dress with white-knuckled hands.
But Nathan didn't waver. He took a step closer, his gaze still locked onto mine. "Take your dress off," he repeated, his voice low and insistent. "I want to see if you are as beautiful without clothes on."
The air around us seemed to crackle with tension, and I could feel my pulse racing as I stared up at him. The weight of his expectations bore down on me, heavy and suffocating.
He suddenly threw his head back and started laughing.
I looked at him with confusion. "What the hell is so funny?" I barked.
"You should see the look on your face. You look like you want to burn me alive with your stare. You need to relax, kitten," he said and leaned back in his chair.
"Relax?" I bellowed, my chest heaving with rage. "How am I supposed to relax in this situation when some pervert is about to rape me?"
Nathan's eyes turned wide. "Rape you? Don't be melodramatic. I was merely joking about the stripping thing. Keep your knickers on because I am not interested in you like that anyway."
I sucked in a breath as I realized that he was telling the truth. He had no reason to lie about it when he could easily take advantage of me. Maybe he truly had no interest in me. He only wanted... Oh God, what did he want?
"Then why did you bring me here?" I said with a heavy sigh.
A small grin tugged at the corner of his mouth. "I didn't know you could be such a drama queen. Anyways, now that you have learned the ridiculousness of your fears, I want to tell you about my plan."
I narrowed my eyes. "What plan?"
"The plan to take down the Alpha King," he announced.
My heart jumped in my chest. Nathan wanted to take down the Alpha King? "You will betray your own Alpha?"
Nathan smiled, seemingly unbothered by my response. "Let me explain," he said. "The Alpha King has been ruling our kingdom for centuries and his power is only getting stronger. But with your help, we can finally overthrow him and free our people from tyranny."
"But why do you want to do that? Aren't you his Beta?" I asked.
"I am," he muttered. "And I was proud to serve him with all my strength. I lived for the honor of being his Beta, but lately, I have been questioning his motives. He is evil and cruel. He destroyed many lives and he..." Nathan paused.
"He did what?" I asked, curious now.
"He killed my mate," he said through gritted teeth. His eyes narrowed, darkening into pools of fury that seemed to burn a hole in the air between us. The muscles of his face hardened with hate and seething anger.
"W...what?" I gasped. "Why would he do that?"
Nathan shook his head. "That is yet to be known. But the Alpha King is the only one who knows why and he doesn't care about anything but ruling our kingdom. He will destroy any threat to his reign, including me."
"And that's why you plan to overthrow him," I said."
"I have no choice," Nathan replied glumly. "But I know it is a long shot. That's why I need your help."
"My help?" I repeated.
"Yes. And your sisters. Since she turned out to be his mate, maybe she can trick him into revealing his weakness to her and then it will be easier for us to terminate him," Nathan said.
I shook my head. "My sister isn't some cunning seductress. She is just an innocent girl. I don't know if she could do this."
"You have to convince her. You do want to get her out of his grasp, don't you?" Nathan asked.
"Yes," I said slowly.
"And you need to do this," he continued. "You are the only one who can convince her to seduce him. And she is the one that is closest to him now."
I took a long, deep breath. I didn't forget that I was forced to be here without her. I needed to do this to save her.
I nodded. "Okay. I will try, but my sister is not like me. She doesn't even know how to fight. What if she gets hurt?"
"She won't. We will be careful," Nathan said.
I couldn't help but feel a mix of dread and determination. This plan was dangerous, and it meant putting my sister in a difficult situation. But if it was the only way to free her from the clutches of the Alpha King and potentially end his reign of tyranny, I had to try.
"Alright," I said with resolve, "I'll do my best to convince my sister and help with your plan. But you have to promise me one thing, Nathan."
He raised an eyebrow, curious. "What's that?"
"You have to promise that you'll protect my sister, no matter what," I insisted. "She's innocent in all of this, and if she's going to be involved, I need to know she'll be safe."
Nathan's expression softened, and he nodded. "I promise. I'll do everything in my power to keep her safe. She'll have my protection."
Relieved that he had agreed to my condition, I continued, "Now, tell me more about this plan to take down the Alpha King. What's our first move?"
Nathan leaned forward. "Our first move is to go to sleep."
I blinked. "Huh?"
"I don't know about you, but I am tired. I am heading to bed," he said and yawned.
I couldn't help but raise an incredulous eyebrow at Nathan's sudden change in demeanor. After all the intensity and gravity of our conversation, his nonchalant declaration caught me off guard.
"You're... going to bed?" I asked, still processing the abrupt shift.
Nathan nodded, another yawn escaping his lips. "Yes, I am. It's been a long day."
He stood up and marched toward his bed.
"Hold it right there!" I bellowed, so he spun around dramatically.
"Yeah?" he replied inquisitively.
"Where am I supposed to sleep?" I questioned incredulously.
He looked around the room. "I guess you are sleeping in the bed with me," he said casually.
There was no way I was sharing a bed with this punk! What if he tried to touch me at night!? "Um, no way. I am not sleeping in the same bed as you," I protested.
He shrugged. "Then I guess you are sleeping on the floor."
I frowned, looking at the cold, hard floor. It was a far cry from the plush bed he was about to occupy. But I wasn't about to let him win this power struggle. "Fine," I said with forced nonchalance. "I'll take the floor."
He smirked as he climbed into the bed and snuggled under the covers. I rolled my eyes and searched the room for something, anything, to make my makeshift bed more comfortable.
But there was nothing.
"Do you have extra blankets and pillows," I asked.
"No," Nathan said and pulled the cover over his face.
Ugh...
My gaze wandered across the room and stopped at the dresser. I could have sworn I saw something peeking out from behind it. Bending down, I yanked on an old blanket that had been tucked away behind the dresser. I wrapped myself in it securely before settling down on the cold, hard floor.
But ten minutes in, I started to toss and turn again.
The blanket was too thin to offer me comfort and it smelled weird. A groan escaped my throat.
"What?" Nathan asked from under the blanket.
"This blanket is old and smells like mold," I murmured.
Nathan chuckled softly. "Hey, I offered to share the bed. It's a lot more comfortable up here."
I felt my cheeks flush with embarrassment. There was no way I was going to admit that he was right. But as the night went on, the cold seeped through the thin blanket and into my bones.
"Hey," I said, my voice shaking. "Are you...are you sure it's safe to share the bed with you?"
Nathan didn't move from under his blanket. "You already said no. I'm not going to force you."
"I know, but I can't sleep. I'm freezing."
There was a beat of silence before Nathan sighed and sat up. "Fine. Get in."
I practically dove onto the bed, wrapping myself up in the warm covers. Nathan didn't say anything as he turned away from me, giving me the space I needed to feel safe. After a moment, I heard him snore.
I wish I could fall asleep this easily.
DestinyI held the dress in my hands, and a wave of disgust and anger washed over me. The dress is a symbol of the objectification and degradation they intended for me.It's a deep red color, and the fabric is sheer and lightweight, like a piece of tissue paper, so thin you can almost see through it.I knew without doubt that this was not a dress fit for any lady. Alpha Aldric must've hand-picked this so he could gawk at my body all he wanted.Disgusting.I put the dress on and stared at myself in the mirror. To my sister, I was complaining about how I didn't look good enough for anyone to like me, and now here I was, feeling even more disgusted at myself as I dressed like a whore. I took a deep breath and reminded myself that this wasn't me. This was the role I had to play to survive this ordeal. To survive Alpha Aldric.Alpha Aldric would pay for what he did to our family. Every time I thought of my parents, tears threatened to spill from my eyes. I knew they would have never wante
AriaI slowly blinked my eyes open, greeted by the soft morning light filtering through the curtains. My initial grogginess began to fade as I became aware of my surroundings. But as I tried to stretch and shift my body, I quickly realized that something was different today.I couldn't move.Panic fluttered in my chest as I felt the unmistakable sensation of two strong arms wrapped securely around me, pinning me to the bed.The arms holding me felt warm and comforting, but the lack of control over my own body left me feeling vulnerable and anxious. I struggled to free myself, wriggling slightly, but those arms only tightened their hold. And then I remembered. I was sleeping in the same bed as Nathan last night, and he must have been hugging me in his sleep."Ugh...let go of me, you Brute!" I groaned and tried to free myself from his embrace, but he seemed to hold me even tighter."Five more minutes," he mumbled into my hair, his voice heavy with drowsiness and a hint of playfulness.H
DestinyAnd just like that, my sister was gone again. My heart was broken, but at the same time, I was glad she was safe. She looked good, her inner strength intact. I admired her for it because she wasn't weak like me.But now that she was gone, I was alone again, alone with the devil himself.I broke into tears as I remembered what had conspired last night between Alpha Aldric and me. The way he spanked me until my rear was red and raw. I purposely hid it from Aria because I didn't want to worry her, but now I kind of wish I told her. Hours passed, and I was left alone in the small room. I had nothing to occupy my time except for my thoughts. My mind kept wandering back to my family and friends, and I couldn't help but feel a sense of loss and despair.I tried to distract myself by exploring the room, but there was nothing of interest. The bed was uncomfortable, and the desk had nothing on it except for a few sheets of paper and a pen. I sat down at the desk and picked up the pen,
Aria "I have to get Destiny out of there before the Alpha King eats her alive," I said to Nathan. After my grim visit with Destiny, I knew I had to hurry. She didn't look hurt from the outside, but her face was pale, and I knew she was in distress. "We can't sit here and let him torture her. Destiny isn't as strong as I am and..." "Yes, I get it," Nathan interrupted me. "But we can't just barge in and snatch her away from Alpha Aldric. We need to strategize this carefully." His voice was measured and composed, a stark contrast to my frantic desperation. I leaned against the tree, the rough bark digging into my back, my mind racing. "I know. We can't afford to make a hasty move. But what's our plan, Nathan? How do we save her?" Nathan shifted his weight, his gaze locked onto mine. "First, we need to gather information. Find out as much as we can about Aldric's schedule, his weaknesses, anything that can give us an edge." "You are his Beta. Shouldn't you know all that already?" I
Aldric"Don't you think you are a bit hard on the girl, Alpha Aldric?" one of my pack mates dared to question.I bared my teeth, snarling at him with enough force to make him flinch back in terror. "She is mine. I can do whatever I damn well please with her.""But Alpha..."I whirled around to face him, my eyes blazing with furious anger. The veins in my neck bulged from the sheer rage coursing through me. "Are you testing me, Jeremy? Do you have a death wish or something? Don't tell me you are sweet on my mate because if you are, there will be dire consequences."The silence hung heavy in the air as everyone exchanged uneasy glances."I am not sweet on her, Alpha Aldric. I have my own mate. I just don't understand why you are so cruel to her. I thought one was supposed to have a special bond with one's mate. Don't you feel it with her?" Jeremy asked, trying to keep his voice strong and steady. And damned if the man didn't raise a good point. I hadn't planned to be so cruel to my mate
DestinyI scurried back to my room, my heart hammering against my ribcage. What the heck was THAT?!When Alpha Aldric summoned me, I expected him to hurt me more or make ridiculous demands, but instead, he was teaching me how to dance!?Maybe he was having one of his better days. The Alpha King seemed to have quite the range of emotions.I rolled my eyes. The Moon Goddess must hate me for bonding me with a mate like that. Why couldn't I be mated to someone normal? Like Baron. My heart did a little flip. I hadn't thought about Baron since I was auctioned off to the Alpha King. I wondered what he was doing. Was he thinking about me? Wondering where I was?No, he was Aria's best friend, so maybe he was mostly thinking about her.My thoughts kept drifting back to Baron, the gentle and caring werewolf who had been a comforting presence in my life before everything went haywire. He never knew I had a crush on him. I was planning to confess my feelings to him after I turned eighteen, but now
AriaAs I jolted awake, a piercing scream ripped through the air, my heart pounding wildly in my chest and my breaths coming out in gasps. I felt the nightmare clawing at my sanity, its memories so vivid they seemed to etch themselves onto the back of my eyelids. And then, I felt two arms wrap around me that brought some small measure of comfort, but not enough to erase the terror that still gripped my soul."Aria, calm down. It was just a dream," the familiar deep voice comforted me.Ah, that's right. I was sharing a bed with Nathan, so I wasn't alone. I leaned into his embrace, enjoying his warmth as he stroked my hair.My chest heaved as I remembered Destiny in my nightmare, she was in agony at Alpha Aldric's hands."De...Destiny," I choked out her name, "she is in agony. Alpha Aldric was torturing her, and she..." I could no longer suppress my tears."Shh...you don't know that," he murmured softly. "She smiled when you saw her, right? She still has hope." Nathan's words were gentl
NathanI could tell Aria expected more from me than what I was giving her, but I couldn't bring myself to open up to her fully, not after what happened to my mate, Emily. She was everything to me, and when I lost her, I felt like my heart was ripped out of my chest. She was more than just a fated mate to me. She was my best friend. We shared our dreams, our fears, and our deepest secrets. She had been there for me in ways no one else could understand. She was the stark opposite of Aria.Aria was headstrong and stubborn, while Emily was shy and sweet.Fuck...what was I doing comparing Aria to Emily anyway?I felt Aria fidget behind me. "Can't sleep?""I...I am nervous about tomorrow," she whispered. "What Alpha Aldric doesn't agree to give me the maid's position?""Don't worry about it. I will convince him. You just stay quiet and do as I say. And for the love of Moon Goddess, don't be sassy," I said and chuckled."I am not sassy!" she barked."You are being sassy right now, Aria," I s
I sat on a bench, cradling a bundle of joy in my arms. My baby was finally born, and she was perfect. After that fateful night with Selena, my life changed drastically. Baron, the one who betrayed me and Aria to side with Selena, was finally brought to justice. Alpha Aldric showed no mercy as he banished him off to an island. The taste of revenge was bittersweet as I watched my former friend disappear into the horizon, knowing he could never hurt me or anyone else again. Aria kept her promise to Nathan and left with him. This time, I wasn't angry. If that's how she finds her happiness, then so be it. Alpha Aldric approached, a tender smile gracing his features as he looked at the precious life we had created together. The baby, swaddled in a soft blanket, blinked up at me with curious eyes. "Spending some quality time without me, I see," Aldric said and smirked. I smiled, my heart brimming with contentment. "Yup, with our little miracle, Clara." Alpha Aldric sat down beside me
AldricThis ends now, I thought as I looked at Selena's grinning face."How about you release Aria and we fight? One last time," I suggested."One last time, eh?" Selena raised her eyebrows."Yes. Because I won't walk away until one of us is dead, think you can handle it, my beloved ex wife?" I asked coyly.Selena's eyes glowed red, and I could tell she considered my request. The challenge had ignited a spark in her, and for a moment, the mask of her composed demeanor cracked. "Aldric, you always did have a proneness for theatrics. Fine, let's end this once and for all."She released her grip on Aria, and she scrambled away, putting some distance between us.I took a deep breath, steeling myself for what lay ahead. Selena was not someone I could underestimate. She was a vampire and was stronger than me in some ways, as much as I hated to admit it.Selena advanced, her movements fluid and deliberate. Her eyes never left mine as she prepared for the confrontation. The first strike was s
Aria Nathan's posture was tense. His back was arched, his fur bristling and his lips curled back to reveal sharp teeth, but he managed a low growl at her."First things first," Selena smirked. "You should probably shift back into human since I don't speak dogs," she said to Nathan and Baron. Baron just stood there while Nathan didn't hesitate before quickly shifting back into human form.He didn't say anything for a while as he stared at Selena with fury in his eyes. "You," he finally said slowly. "You started all of this. I am going to snap your fucking neck.""Down, boy. Let's talk about this first," Selena said."Talk? There is nothing to talk about," Nathan hissed and came closer to her. "You killed my mate, so I will kill you in return."Selena scoffed. "Oh, come off it. I told you it was an accident."Nathan's fists clenched, his knuckles turning white. His jaw tightened and he looked away for a split second before focusing back on Selena again. Nathan looked like he was goin
Aria"Baron! Let me go. What are you doing?" I cried out as he dragged me away somewhere."I am not letting you leave with that guy, Aria," Baron barked."That's not your decision to make!" I snapped."But I love you," Baron said.I felt a shiver down my spine as I looked into his eyes. They were dark with desire and something else that's much darker than that. "Baron, I am sorry, but I don't feel the same way. I always looked at you more like a brother."A rage seemed to burn in his eyes as he looked at me. His grip on my arm tightened and a wave of terror coursed through my body. I tried to break away, but Baron pulled me closer, still dragging me forward. He was muttering something under his breath as we made our way down the narrow alleyway between two buildings, further away from the castle.I couldn't let him do this, I thought to myself. I jerked myself free and stepped back. "Don't make me fight you, Baron," I said. But Baron laughed darkly. "You can try," he said. "What will
Aria"What do you mean you are leaving?"Destiny stared at me wide-eyed, and I was overwhelmed with guilt. I had promised to stick by her and protect her forever as her big sister, but here I was, abandoning her."I am sorry, Destiny. I decided to go with Nathan. Alpha Aldric banished him from this Pack. Nathan will be out there, building his own Pack from the ground up. I want to be there for him and help him," I told her.Tears welled up in Destiny's eyes as she processed my words. The weight of my decision hung heavy in the air, and I could see the hurt in her expression."But you promised," she whispered, her voice cracking. "You promised you'd always be there for me, that we'd face everything together."I reached out to touch her shoulder, torn between my loyalty to my little sister and the unexpected pull I felt towards Nathan and his quest for redemption."I know, Destiny. And I meant every word of that promise," I said, my voice filled with regret. "But sometimes life takes un
NathanEverything changed so fast.It was like a bolt of lightning, striking me out of nowhere and leaving me in a state of shock and disbelief. Selena's confession about killing Emily was all I could think about, replaying her words over and over again in my mind.I couldn't believe it. All this time, I had been so sure that Alpha Aldric was the one responsible for Emily's death. I had been consumed by hatred and anger towards him, convinced that he had taken away my mate. But now, everything had changed. Selena's confession shattered my beliefs and left me feeling lost and confused. How could she have done something so heinous? Emily didn't even do anything to provoke her!As I tried to process this new information, I couldn't help but feel guilty for all the times I had blamed Alpha Aldric. And also scared. What would become of me now? The punishment for betrayal is usually severe, so did that mean Alpha Aldric would put me on trial now?My thoughts were interrupted as I saw Aria r
AldricI rushed inside and placed Destiny on the bed. "I need a healer here. NOW!"Delora rushed into the room. "Alpha Aldric! You are back!""Now is not the time to celebrate my arrival, Delora. Get the healer now. Destiny is hurt," I said urgently.Delora's eyes widened in concern, and she nodded swiftly. "Of course, Alpha Aldric. I'll fetch the healer immediately."As Delora hurried out of the room, my attention returned to Destiny, lying pale and battered on the bed. Guilt gnawed at me for not being able to protect her fully. I should've never let her fight Selena, but I couldn't undermine her powers by not letting her either.I reached out and brushed a strand of hair away from her face. The healer rushed into the room after a few moments. "What happened, Alpha?" she asked, her eyes assessing Destiny's condition."She fought a vampire," I explained briefly. "We need to do everything we can to save her."The healer nodded solemnly and began her examination. "She's lost a lot of bl
AldricThe air around me shimmered with my anger as I watched Selena standing over my mate, Destiny. A smirk curling her blood-red lips as she leaned over her, her fangs poised to strike. My wolf howled in protest, wanting nothing more than to charge at Selena and tear her limb from limb for daring to harm my beloved.Destiny lay on the ground, her eyes barely open, a trail of blood dripping from the corner of her mouth as she struggled against the vampire's grip. Her breathing was shallow, and her body trembled with the effort it took to stay alive.I felt my heart clench at the sight of her, my love for her overwhelming me in a wave of pain and protectiveness. The scent of her fear and blood filled my nostrils, making me dizzy with the need to protect her."Get away from her!" I demanded, my voice low and dangerous.Selena smiled cruelly. "I've merely given your little pet what she deserves, Aldric," she hissed. "She disrupted the natural order by trying to fight me."My eyes narrow
DestinyI felt Aldric's grip on my arm loosen, and I stepped forward, ready to face Selena once more."Aww, you want to fight me, little girl? How cute," Selena mocked me."Yes, and I won't hold back," I promised her and attacked with a swift kick.My blow caught Selena in the mid-section, but she barely budged. Instead, she slammed her fist into my cheek, hitting hard enough to throw me sideways. I let out a yelp of surprise and quickly recovered, dancing back into a defensive stance. Selena's eyes narrowed in amusement at my surprise."You are stronger than I imagined, Destiny. But are you sure you can handle a real vampire?" She asked with delight, assuming I might back down now. But I didn't flinch, considering her words for a few seconds instead before leaping again at her. This time, leading with my left leg, I hoped to go for her legs instead of the torso.Selena did a side-step to avoid me and threw a crescent kick that hit my right leg just below the knee and sent me sprawlin
