Wedding

“Princess… princess… please, wake up.”

“Ugh…”

The servants were trying to wake her up. Yet, Shadow refused to comply. To her, her sleep was much preferable to the wedding day.

“I don’t have to be physically present, though,” Shadow mumbled sleepily.

She heard laughter from Dhia.

“Stop it. Don’t tease your sister.”

This time, it was her mother: Queen Aulia.

“But mommy… She is cute. How about we cancel the wedding?”

“Princess Dhia!”

Dhia giggled openly and trudged closer. “My beloved sister. Sister…”

Shadow felt the warm hand clutching hers. Slowly, she raised her head.

“Sister… Dhia?”

“Yes. Sister here.” Dhia sat at the edge of the bed.

The soft bed bent slightly to Dhia, forcing Shadow to open her tired eyes.

“Sis Dhia…”

Dhia giggled yet again upon hearing that cute whining.

“Shadow.”

The voice was soft yet firm. It left Shadow with no choice. Tiredly, she extended her arms, asking Dhia to pick her up like a child.

“Oh, my baby,” which Dhia gladly obeyed.
