“Yes.” He answered with difficulty.

He shut his eyes, feeling the tension that bit his whole body. Her cold gaze had eaten his inside. He felt awful.

“Why?”

“Our knights and your father’s knights were assassinated two weeks ago,” Malikul revealed the names that Shadow – unfortunately – knew too well.

Malikul watched Shadow’s face grow passive. He hated it when she did that, putting on a mask to hide her real emotions.

“Fucking shit.” Shadow slammed her fist on the table.
