Lucas felt like he had been punched in the stomach. Andrianne had come to the house and he hadn't even known. And to make matters worse, Emily was the reason why Andrianne had run out. He clenched his jaw, trying to suppress the anger that was bubbling up inside him.

"What do you mean she came to the house?" Lucas asked Johnson, his voice laced with annoyance.

"She came here yesterday morning, sir. I believe she spoke to Miss Emily and then ran out when she saw her," Johnson replied calmly, even though he could sense the tension in the air.

Lucas slammed his hand on the table, causing the plates and utensils to rattle. "And you didn't think it was important enough to come and tell me right away?" he snapped at Johnson.

"I apologize, sir. I thought you were still sleeping," Johnson said, his voice remaining calm despite Lucas's outburst.
